Beautiful 2005 ORVIS Superfine 1 Wt 7'6" Near Mint FLY ROD & CFO Reel USA Line
Nice Rare 2005 Superfine Graphite Rod 2pc 1Wt in used but very nice condition. Very little wear. Reel is Orvis CFO 1, made in USA, in unused condition. Line is Cortland 444 WF1F and never used. Great hard to find set. Check pictures out for condition.

Orvis CFO III fly reel, made by BFR in England
Here it is. Guys. An original, legendary, Orvis CFO III fly reel which is engraved"Made in England" which identifies this fine instrument as being made for Orvis by BFR of England. I bought this reel new at The Troufitter fly shop in Syracuse, NY after I got out of college, sometime in the early 1990's. I've caught many trout with it all around the famous upstate New York rivers(Beaverkill, Willowemoc, Battenkill, Esopus, Ausable, etc. the central Pennsylvania streams(Spruce, Pine, Penns, Little Juniata, Yello Breeches, etc. and many western streams in Colorado, Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming. Despite it's well traveled history, it remains in 98% or better condition, as seen in the photos. I've long since gone to more modern large arbor designs for my fly reels, and although it has sentimental value to me, my son does ... morenot have any interest in fly fishing, and I know that when I croak he'd sell it at a garage sale to some idiot for $5. Comes with its original leather/canvas reel case and is loaded with Cortland 444 double taper floating line, 5 weight. As you can see from the latest Orvis ad, a USA-made reproduction of this reel sells for $345. Thanks to the gentleman who advised me that my memory sucks(I knew that) and that my knowledge of CFO reel history also sucks-I had originally posted this a a"Hardy made" reel from around 1981. This version did not come around until 1992.

Vintage Orvis CFO IV FLY RERL PLUS 2 Exta Spools & Lines
Structurally excellent but does have normal wear for its age. The Lines are all fine with 3 levels of 5wt sinking. Leather pouches for 2 extra spoils but the Orvis case for the reel is much newer in age

Orvis CFO-1 fly reel made in England with mint Rio line
This is an older Orvis CFO in very good condition. With a like new, barely used WF2 Rio fly line(I believe it is the Trout LT line) There is a bit of scuffing to the rim of the spool. And a slight amount of paint worn off the reel rim, but otherwise looks really nice and works like new. The color is deep green with a gold base and accents and comes with the original Orvis pouch. the line alone is worth over $50. This setup balances perfectly(IMO) with a near mint Sage LL 279 that I will be listing for sale on ebay in the next few days. See also a beautiful Sage LL 586 and a mint Winston WT 8'4wt I have currently listed. If interested.

Vintage Orvis CFO I Fly Fishing Reel Made in England This is a vintage Orvis CFO I fly reel with original cloth reel bag. This reel is in used condition but shows limited wear. It does have some light pitting(see photo's) and a slight bend in the reel check. This reel was exclusively used in fresh water on small streams. Mechanically. This reel is sound and tight. Vintage Orvis CFO I23 Fly Reel Made in England
Vintage Orvis CFO 123 Fly Reel Made in England This item is in excellent to mint condition. It is a pre-owned item that shows no signs of use or wear. I purchased this item new in the late 1990's. However. I do not remember if I ever used this reel on the water or not. It does have line and backing spooled on it but it shows no wear on the aluminum reel foot. I am not sure of the line type or weight. I may have only used it for casting as I was a casting instructor at that time. This is a terrific example of an Orvis CFO 123 reel(now called the Orvis CFO II) The reel measures 2 7/8" in diameter and is sized for a 3-5 wt. fly line.
