Very nice vintage Orvis Madison Fly Reel 6/7 weight. The condition appears to be very good. This was purchased from an avid Fly Fisherman but I have not used it. It could use a good cleaning. All I did was wipe the dirt off and sprayed it with a lubricant. This would make an excellent addition to any collection or a great reel for every day use.

Leland Upgrade and the items we sell have a standard of quality and information these items simply fall below. We can't risk selling something broken, or mislabeled. Many people would sell these off individually and someone with time may even make some money doing the research, cleaning, fixing some of the items in the lot. Either the frame or spool was dented. This is the same reel as the Battenkill Mid Arbor II. It was called the Pro Guide in its first year or two of production, before switching to the Battenkill name. The reel is machined from bar-stock aluminum, with a hard anodized finish. It is a mid-arbor design, with a center line, glass composite disc drag system. The reel is a perfect size for use with 3 and 4 weight lines. The reel has seen some use. But remains in good condition. There are no issues with the mechanical condition, it works great. Here it is. Guys. An original, legendary, Orvis CFO III fly reel which is engraved"Made in England" which identifies this fine instrument as being made for Orvis by BFR of England. I bought this reel new at The Troufitter fly shop in Syracuse, NY after I got out of college, sometime in the early 1990's. I've caught many trout with it all around the famous upstate New York rivers(Beaverkill, Willowemoc, Battenkill, Esopus, Ausable, etc. the central Pennsylvania streams(Spruce, Pine, Penns, Little Juniata, Yello Breeches, etc. and many western streams in Colorado, Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming. Despite it's well traveled history, it remains in 98% or better condition, as seen in the photos. I've long since gone to more modern large arbor designs for my fly reels, and although it has sentimental value to me, my son does ... morenot have any interest in fly fishing, and I know that when I croak he'd sell it at a garage sale to some idiot for $5. Comes with its original leather/canvas reel case and is loaded with Cortland 444 double taper floating line, 5 weight. As you can see from the latest Orvis ad, a USA-made reproduction of this reel sells for $345. Thanks to the gentleman who advised me that my memory sucks(I knew that) and that my knowledge of CFO reel history also sucks-I had originally posted this a a"Hardy made" reel from around 1981. This version did not come around until 1992.

Ross Colorado Fly Reel Size 1 with Orvis DT-5-F line
These are outstanding reels that are no longer made by Ross. I’ve had a few of them in size“0” and“1” and they’re really well made. Light, and perform great at handling fish without needing adjustable drag. I’ve landed some pretty hefty rainbows in the 4-5 lb range on this size“1” reel. This particular size 1 Colorado was a demo at a great fly shop in PA called The Evening Rise. And I purchased it from them as new in 2009. I changed the line in 2012 to some high end Orvis DT5F and I have not used this reel more than 5 times since doing so. Which is why I’m selling it. I hate to part with a reel that is so hard to find like this one, but the fact is I don’t think I’ll have a chance to fish with it anytime soon. St. Croix Imperial Fly Fishing Rod 9' 5 wt and Orvis Clearwater Classic Reel
I bought this rod and then got a job as an Orvis endorsed guide and had to fish only Orvis rods. So this St. Croix was used as a backup maybe two or three times. The rod is in near-mint condtion. The case is a little road weary as it's traveled a lot. The reel has seen some use, but is a sold reel with a 5 wt double taper line that still has a lot of life in it. Everything you need to go fishing but the flies! I need a saltwater rod, so my loss is your gain!

Orvis CFO-1 fly reel made in England with mint Rio line
This is an older Orvis CFO in very good condition. With a like new, barely used WF2 Rio fly line(I believe it is the Trout LT line) There is a bit of scuffing to the rim of the spool. And a slight amount of paint worn off the reel rim, but otherwise looks really nice and works like new. The color is deep green with a gold base and accents and comes with the original Orvis pouch. the line alone is worth over $50. This setup balances perfectly(IMO) with a near mint Sage LL 279 that I will be listing for sale on ebay in the next few days. Vintage Orvis CFO 123 Fly Reel Made in England This item is in excellent to mint condition. It is a pre-owned item that shows no signs of use or wear. I purchased this item new in the late 1990's. However. I do not remember if I ever used this reel on the water or not. It does have line and backing spooled on it but it shows no wear on the aluminum reel foot. I am not sure of the line type or weight. I may have only used it for casting as I was a casting instructor at that time. This is a terrific example of an Orvis CFO 123 reel(now called the Orvis CFO II) The reel measures 2 7/8" in diameter and is sized for a 3-5 wt. fly line. RARE Vintage Orvis/Gokey Fly Fishing Reel Clamshell Case This rare vintage clamshell case is made with the same Orvis/Gokey Battenkill green canvas and leather that the Battenkill luggage is made from. This case is sized for a small to medium(5- 6 wt. maximum) fly reel. It has a sheep skin interior to help the reel air out after use. The case was in storage for the past 10 years. It shows little to no wear(see photo's) The case has a leather Orvis Company Logo on the front and a leather ID window on the rear. This is a great reel case that will last a lifetime. The case as you can see it is in a semi round"D" shape and exterior dispensations measure 5 inches long x 4 1/2 inches wide x 3 inches high. The interior dimensions measure 4 1/2 long x 4 to 3/18 wide x 2 5/8 high allowing for the fleece lining cushion. This handsome waxed leather waterproof fly reel case is beautifully stitched and lined with wool shearling. Case will accommodate and size reel from the smallest to larger than a CFO IV and slightly more. Again. There is a generous amount of cushioned fleece. The top of the case is embossed with the company name. Everything is of the highest quality available as one would expect of a product bearing the J.
