This is an ORVIS LIGHT SALMON BAMBOO FLY ROD that was built by George Reed and Calvin Skinner in Wes Jordan's fly shop in 1960. The rod is a 9 foot. Two piece, 9 weight and is in excellent condition. I bought it to go after Steel Head but never got the chance. I have used it instead to fish Mid-West Large Mouth Bass and spring Pike. This is an"Impregnated" rod, meaning it is water proofed without varnishes. You can put this fly rod away wet for the night without the worry of softening or ruining the finish. Originally this rod came with a"super-fine" style grip, Orvis loves to use these) they are tiny and well suited for 4 weight rods. I had it replaced with a proper sized big game"full-wells" style grip. This made the rod much more controllable and comfortable to both cast and fight fish with. This is a ... morevery powerfull fly rod that will lift a lot of heavy line and deliver it with accuracy. All pieces are full length and insanely straight. Along with the original aluminum tube, I am selling this rod with a FILSON FLY ROD and REEL CASE. Rugged and old school, it is dirty from years of use but no less for wear. 1989 Orvis 7' 9" Far & Fine 5wt graphite fly rod and 1989 Orvis CFO III reel
7' 9" Orvis Far& Fine graphite fly rod built in 7/1989 and Orvis CFO III reel(built in England) and bought new in 1989 with the rod. I am the original owner of the rod and reel. The rod is in excellent condition and has been used very little over the years. It has always been stored in the original rod bag and metal rod tube that it came in. The reel has the original reel pouch and is in excellent condition other than a small chip in the reel spool as shown in the pictures. I bought them new at a shop in TN used them for a summer then went in the military where they saw little to no use. I can take specific pictures of either item if you want to see more detail.

1992 ORVIS GREEN MOUNTAIN I Fly Fishing Reel 7 WT. Original Box w/ Yellow Line
Here is a great ORVIS fly fishing real Model"Green Mountain I" that's a Roman numeral one) and also marked"7 WT. On the reel it is marked"Made In USA" Orvis technical people told me this reel was manufactured in 1992 and is considered a vintage reel. New looking. It seems not to have any use, I see no wear marks or chipped paint on surface. It does have yellow line loaded in it and a loop at the feed end of this line as can be seen in the images. The reel is approx. 3-1/2" diameter. The box that comes with it is the original box, though the original packing material is missing. Notice the Orvis numbers on the box lid and also again on the bottom of the box. Inside also is a pamphlet put out by Orvis entitled"Getting Started in Fly Fishing" ORVIS GREEN MOUNTAIN SERIES" which is a 30 pages counting ... morefront& back cover. Thomas& Thomas 5WT 2 PC Fly Rod& Reel This is an older ES 865(Emerger Series) Graphite Rod. This series was discontinued by T&T back in 1999. This was rod. Reel and flies were given to me buy the owner to sell and donate the proceeds to Ducks Unlimited. In my opinion it looks like this rod was never used as the reel mounting area shows no marks at all. The cork handle is not hard as shows no discoloration. This rod was hand letter with silver paint after it was built in Turners Falls, MA. Some areas of the paint are gone, but you can still read all the numbers. There is another number on both halves of the rod, 74-25. The reel is RimFly by Cortland. I would say it has been used. As it shows some areas of slight wear. It has line and backing that I would guess is old.
