Unfortunately, the ... morelabel and the serial number have also been removed. Possibly a kit rod? With that being said, this rod is in great shape and it is free of any defects. Its actual length is just over 9' 6" and it weighs 8.3oz. All three pieces are full-length, and they are straight. Please note, the reel seat has some oxidation and I believe this rod originally came with a fighting butt (I could not get the butt-cap off). The ferrules fit tight and they measure 17/64" (they do need a good cleaning). The cork handle is clean, and the bamboo looks amazing. This rod feels like it would handle 9-10wt fly lines (possibly even 10wt+). It would be perfect for salmon or even saltwater fishing.

Bill was the owner of One Pfoot(machined parts for Pflueger Medalist reel) Bill built countless rods and rod components. He was a true gentleman. Whom I'm proud to have called him my friend. The rod was built by Bill from an Orvis unsanded graphite blank. The 7'6"1-2pc. The classic Orvis with the sleeve ferrule. The reel seat is a nickel silver cap and ring with a curly Koa insert. The reel seat prefers a thin reel foot. Like a CFO or Hardy. The wraps are red with a clean black tipping, very classy as are all of Bill's work. This rod has been in a rod tube for most of its days, it doesn't appear to be ever fished. This is a vintage Orvis"All Rounder" unsanded graphite rod with aluminum tube and sock. 8' 3" 7 wt 2 piece and super light at 2 1/2 ounces. The rod is in excellent condition. It has nickle fittings on the reel seat. The cork grip is clean with no chips. All of the guides are true and the wraps perfect. There are some slight markings on the reel seat rings. Comes with a sock and the original aluminum rod tube with a sealed threaded cap. The tube has no dents but does have some scuff marks. While sought after by collectors. For your consideration is an Orvis Flea. 6' 6" 2/1, 4wt, impregnated bamboo fly rod. 56561 Excellent condition. This rod has been lightly fished and cared for. Tube and label is in excellent condition. Built with one tip(see label) Sock has a slight tear from a ferrule poke through(see photo 3) I purchased this two years ago from someone that had not fished it since 1976. The ferrule had a slight tick- fit was a little loose. I sent it to Orvis and Charlie Hisey recommended replacing the ferrules. Except for the Orvis factory replaced ferrules. This is 100% original. Orvis HLS Graphite Fly Rod 4wt 1 oz ounce Ultra Light Superfine
As you can see in the pictures. This rod is in very good condition. The handle has very minimal soiling and wearing. The top section(tip) of the rod has been recently replaced by Orvis through their faithful 25 years warranty. I have not used the rod since the replacement. Orvis stopped making this rod a long time ago. This model has been replace by Superfine models.The rod only weighs 1 ounce. It feels super light in your hand. RARE Superfine Orvis Bamboo Fly Rod 1 Solid Piece
Bidding on a Vintage Orvis Fly Rod. I'm not exactly sure of it's age but the serial number is 49913 and that number matches the serial number on the origional metal rod container. On the rod itself it has written"Orvis Imbreanated" Superfine" 6'1 7/8oz" H.D.G.6) I can not find a crack or splinter anywhere on this rod. I have taken pictures of all the eyes and the cork. It is a one solid piece which as you know is rare. Everything on the metal case matches up with the rod. I have had it appraised by two guys and one says its worth between $1000-$1200 and the other says between $1200-$1500. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me. This is a fantastic fly rod found at a local rummage sale. It is an Orvis Graphite Rod that includes; Three pieces of the rod one is an extra end piece. Cloth bag and a great aluminum tube. The tube has a lable marked; Length 7 ft. 9 inches, Weight 2 1/8 ounces and For a#5 line and it says Orvis graphite Rod Makers of fine Fishing tackle since 1856. In this auction you are bidding on a used: ORVIS TRIDENT TLS 7'11" 2-PC 4-WEIGHT MID-FLEX FLY ROD(with rod sock or rod tube included! The Orvis Trident TLS 7'11" 2pc 4wt fly rod being auctioned here is in excellent lightly-used ... morecondition. Very well-cared for by its previous owner and seldom fished. This smooth-loading lightweight fly rod displays only the faintest signs of nominal cosmetic wear and tear in the expected high traffic areas. As photos show. The cork grip shows very little staining from previous handling and remains overall void of any major chips, gouges, or excessive missing fill. Still bright and shiny like it was when new, the handsome gold finished up-locking burl-wood reel seat looks great and functions perfectly too. A close inspection of the rod's glossy green blank from tip to butt reveals no signs of catastrophic abuse like deep scratches. Scores, or penetrating nicks that would in any way hint the rod's original strength or integrity as compromised, and a close review of the rod's guides shows no trace of tarnish, rusting or oxidization present, with no grooving, deformation, or misalignment found. A quick test-assembly and deep flexing of the rod confirms the ferrule still snug fitting. With no wobble, twisting, looseness or other signs of obvious distress recognized. And the factory issued rod sock and rod tube that accompany are, like the rod, in excellent lightly
