Here for auction is this Orvis Wes Jordan model. 8' 2 pc, 2 tip with original bag and tube, made in 1970. Sold through Gloria Jordan's rod shop to the name inked on the shaft(initials are professionally engraved on the butt cap see photo) and is inked Made by Wes Jordan and what the client was told by Gloria Jordan as well. The rod is in superior original condition with some soiling on the grip from handling and some incidental reel marks on the spacer. It just sparkles. From the photos one can easily see the rod was well taken care of and it is for a right handed caster. Orvis Clearwater fly rod 5wt 2pc 9' Mid Flex
Clearwater series 5 wt. 7.0 mid flex, 9' 3 1/8 oz, 2 piece rod. This has been a great fly rod that I purchased several years ago from an Orvis store in Denver. I've used it probably a total of a dozen times and I would rate it still to be in very good to excellent condition. The cork handle is in excellent condition but darker from use. The guides. The 2 pc rod sections are truly in excellent condition and you won't find any scratches. This is a mid flex rod and it casts beautifully. This a used Sage ZXL 8' 5 wt fly rod and Orvis CFO III fly reel. Both are in excellent working condition and used very lightly. I bought it to fish for bigger fish in medium to large sized streams. This is a very nice 2 piece 8 ft. Orvis# 0686 graphite fly rod with aluminum tube and cloth sock. The original owner said he bought it new. Years ago and used it only a few times and it has been stored since. The wraps, ferrules, guides, and cork grip show no signs of use. It is gray in color. The aluminum tube is free of dents and shows minor storage marks. The label also shows storage marks. ORVIS DXR 7/8 FLY Fishing REEL w/ Extra SPOOL& 7 WT Lines For 7 8 Rod LAMSON LP This listing is for a used Orvis DXR 7/8 fly reel with one extra spool. The reel is a standard arbor design. Of sturdy construction from machined bar stock aluminum, and recommended for use with 7 and 8 wt. lines. This is the first version of the DXR, which was made in the U.S.A. allegedly by Lamson. It is similar to a Lamson LP-3, but with the drag system of an Orvis Battenkill 7/8 Disc reel. The reel has a soft click on the retrieve, with a harder click on the outgo(pawl can be easily disengaged for quieter reel operation) It is set up for left hand retrieve, but can be changed to right(flipping over the center gear on the spindle reverses the drag direction) The reel is well used. With ample rock rash along the back rim of the frame. The Orvis emblem is ... moremissing from the back plate. One spool has a shallow rim dent, but it doesn't affect the reel operation. The reel works fine with both spools. I have set the drag range at what I think is the best setting. It is a bit strong at the low end, so not recommended for the lightest tippets. These drag systems can be adjusted for different ranges, and I will include instructions from Orvis, should the buyer not like the current range. One spool is lined with backing and a WF-7-F Scientific Anglers Mastery Steelhead taper line. While the other has backing and a Rio WF-7-F/S Density Compensated Type 3 sink tip line. Both are older lines that may have some life left in them. Shipping is available to the U.S. and Canada. Orvis 6 1/2' Deluxe bamboo impregnated fly rod "Battenkill" 1956 Never used!!!
This extraordinary fly rod was bought by my uncle in around 1956. He never used it! it was given to me years ago and I had it in my gun closet. Orvis Impregnated bamboo. Deluxe Style"Battenkill" 6 1/2 foot, 2 piece, 11 guides. Serial number 19049, Weight 2 oz. This rod has never been used, I don't even think its been put together. As you can see from the pics, the cork handle is light and has no signs of handling, which usually turns darker from human touch. It has 2 tips with it and is contained in a cotton plaid sheath and is placed inside an aluminum tube. The tube has the original tag on the outside. The tube and tag, as you can see, show some signs of wear from storage and moving it around. I was always going to fish with this rod. But couldn't bring myself to take it out to the stream.I really don't collect rods ... morenor do I really need it anymore. I did some research and found its very rare to find one in unused condition. So heres your chance! Thanks for looking!

This is an ORVIS LIGHT SALMON BAMBOO FLY ROD that was built by George Reed and Calvin Skinner in Wes Jordan's fly shop in 1960. The rod is a 9 foot. Two piece, 9 weight and is in excellent condition. I bought it to go after Steel Head but never got the chance. I have used it instead to fish Mid-West Large Mouth Bass and spring Pike. This is an"Impregnated" rod, meaning it is water proofed without varnishes. You can put this fly rod away wet for the night without the worry of softening or ruining the finish. Originally this rod came with a"super-fine" style grip, Orvis loves to use these) they are tiny and well suited for 4 weight rods. I had it replaced with a proper sized big game"full-wells" style grip. This made the rod much more controllable and comfortable to both cast and fight fish with. 7' 9" Orvis Far& Fine graphite fly rod built in 7/1989 and Orvis CFO III reel(built in England) and bought new in 1989 with the rod. I am the original owner of the rod and reel. The rod is in excellent condition and has been used very little over the years. It has always been stored in the original rod bag and metal rod tube that it came in. The reel has the original reel pouch and is in excellent condition other than a small chip in the reel spool as shown in the pictures. I bought them new at a shop in TN used them for a summer then went in the military where they saw little to no use. I can take specific pictures of either item if you want to see more detail.
