It has a Orvis Battenkill 3 fly reel that has full spool of line. It has a 7' Orvis Fullflex four piece rod that has Vary little use with no cork wear or damage at all the only set back is that the end rod has been tipped. Probably broke it first time out and never used it again. Should be easy to repair or replace with new tip. The original tip is in envelope with key to case. Reel case is un damaged or scratched and looks like brand new and is other wise in excellent condition. It has a hard case with foam interior. I purchased it about 10 years ago and literally used it twice. And very sparingly on those two occasions. With the exception of the two short outings the rod has been in its cloth Velcro bag and sealed away in the plastic orvis rod case. You will receive the rod. Cloth bag, and plastic round rod case. The rod is a good stiff rod for nymph and streamer fishing which we used for some seminars we held. Vintage Orvis Shooting Star 8 1/2' Bamboo Fly Rod
This is a lovely example of an Orvis Shooting Star 8 1/2' 5 3/8 oz fly rod which I think is from the late 1960's. Includes original rod tube. Sack, and butt extension. This is a great casting rod! I like it best with a WF8 but is rated for a 9 weight so it will depend on your casting preferences. This was the lightest of the Shooting Stars and in my opinion, the nicest. The previous owner had sent it back to Orvis for repairs and refininsh so it looks great. Only evidence of repair I can see are a small repair wrap on the butt section a few inches below the first stripper guide, and one tip has been varnished between the ferrule and the first guide. The ferrules are snug, the sections are full length and straight, the numbers match, and the rod should give years of good service!

Thomas& Thomas 5WT 2 PC Fly Rod& Reel This is an older ES 865(Emerger Series) Graphite Rod. This series was discontinued by T&T back in 1999. This was rod. Reel and flies were given to me buy the owner to sell and donate the proceeds to Ducks Unlimited. In my opinion it looks like this rod was never used as the reel mounting area shows no marks at all. The cork handle is not hard as shows no discoloration. This rod was hand letter with silver paint after it was built in Turners Falls, MA. Some areas of the paint are gone, but you can still read all the numbers. There is another number on both halves of the rod, 74-25. The reel is RimFly by Cortland. I would say it has been used. As it shows some areas of slight wear. It has line and backing that I would guess is old.
