Very well maintained Battenlill LA II in Gold color.I used this reel sparingly for one season. It is in perfect working condition. With no blemishes except on the bottom of the reel, where there is a knick and a couple light scratches from when I fell in the river, and maybe when I set it down on the water's edge. I regularly oiled the axle and the bearing and always avoided to set my rod/reel in the water. I don't have a clue what this is but i have had it over 30 years. It is about 2 1/2" high and the foot is 2 3/4" long. It has a strong clicker and it came in an old wooden box with a billinghurst reel and a kentucky reel and some others that were early but no names. I never showed it so i don't have a clue what it is. It appears to be one of the top makers like vomhofe but there are no markings at all. It is a super nice reel. The screws all look hand made. Neither rod nor reel shows much wear at all, save from a tiny scuff on the edge of the reel. Includes a black 300 grain shooting head line(worth $80+ alone) and 200 yards of Dacron backing.
