This auction is for a classic'Orvis Battenkill 8/9 reel made in England' and brand new Orvis soft case. The reel is in excellent condition with virtually no cosmetic wear. It reels in smoothly and the drag lever adjusts easily. It has a Cortland WF9F Bonefish line and 100 yards of backing. I'm only selling it because I mostly fish in small rivers here in Wyoming with a 5/6 and I got a new Orvis Access Mid-Arbor IV for Christmas. The auction is starting with a low reserve. Vintage Orvis 100ss Spinning Reel (Reduced)
Purchased this Orvis 100ss Spinning reel some years ago. It was advertised as"new never used from Abercrombie. and decided to add it to me collection- it was such a rare find(the photo's speak for themselves) It comes in the original Abercrombie velvet case including the original instructions. The spool has 10 lb. mono and is labeled as such(see photo) no doubt done at the store. These reels were made in Italy and engineered by Fiat. This model was the top of the line and to find one that was never used is very unusual. It would make a great gift or add to a collection as I did but the time has come that I start selling off what I've put together over the years.

I doubt whether the extra spool has ever been used.

Here is an Italian classic.the Orvis 51a spinning reel.These reels are highly sought after for ultralight freshwater fisherman.A very hard reel to find in this left handed version.Its about the size of an alcedo micron.Or a mitchell 308.The reel is in outstanding condition and hardly shows any sign of ever being used.The handle turns smoothly,and the bail snaps over very strongly.The anti reverse functions properly and sounds a nice click when on.One of the nicest features on this reel is the jumping trout on the reel sideplate.This reel would be a great addition to a vintage collection or a super reel for your secret stream or lake. For sale is a vintage Orvis 100 spinning reel with its original 2 piece box and spare spool. The reel was made in Italy for the Charles F. Orvis Co. of Manchester. VT. Finished in a gunmetal type grey the reel has some minor rash and rub marks but is in overall good condition. The anti-reverse and clicker lever has a small chip in it. Mechanically the reel is in good condition. The bail is strong. The anti-reverse and clicker lever works well and the handle turns easily. The box is intact but is only in good condition because of wear and some corners that have come loose. While it probably needs to be serviced this is nice. Early example of these beautifully made old reels. The price includes free shipping in the US. Offered for sale is an older Orvis Clearwater Classic II Fly Reel. MADE in ENGLAND. The r eel is currently set up for left hand retrieve. The reel comes complete with an Orvis fly line and backing. Lightly used condition- the fly reel is VERY CLEAN with some paint wear around the edge. The Orvis fly line on the reel is a Orvis WF-4-F. I would replace the leader before use as I have no idea on how old the current leader is. Also included is an extra spool which looks unused but has little paint wear from storage I guess.
