Very nice Orvis 75A reel. I'm not sure of the age of this one but they stopped making this reel around 1980. The reel is made in Italy by Coptes. It aslo includes and extra spool. It will be very hard to find a nicer example. Orvis CFO III Fly Reel. I bought this little trout reel during my'Passion for Fly Fishing' period at the end of the 1990's. I can't recall ever having used it.Mainly because I never really had a small trout rod that it paired well with. I am told these were made for Orvis by Hardy.And that wouldn't surprise me,as the quality is simllar. The reel measures 3 inches in diameter and is right hand wind.I believe it can by changed to left hand wind,but I'm not sure how you do it. It has an adjustable drag. Orvis Factory Second 9 foot 9wt Mid Flex Rod plus Okuma Reel and Rio Line
Orvis Factory Second fly rod. 2 piece 9' 9wt Trident blank, 7.0 mid flex action plus Okuma Integrity I 10/11a reel. Both are less than two years old. Rod is nice with no nicks, dings or corrosion, I used it in the salt and rinsed it after every use, it is a genuine Orvis, I bought it at the Orvis outlet store in Rehobeth Beach DE myself. Reel is like other Okumas I've had, the drag will stop a horse and the clicker always stops working after about the second time out, it does not hinder performance. It works fine but is starting to show some wear at the line guard. The line and 30lb dacron backing where new this spring. It is a Rio Striped Bass 8wt intermidiate it sinks about 2.5fps, the shooting head is clear. No typo, line is 8, rod is 9. I used this set up to give the rod a little bit of a faster action to push bigger flies.
