This rod is in very good condition. The cork has lost a few fillers but still feels smooth. You'll also see a bubbled up section of epoxy on the 3rd section female ferrule. There appears to be no cracking in the graphite as shown in the last 3 photos. The epoxy must have been applied too thick and when the rod flexed the graphite didn't. This rod comes with the original rod tube. This is a lightly-used Redington CPS 9'0" 7-weight 4-piece rod. This rod is best described as"nearly new" because I purchased it. Fished it several times, then broke it. Because Redington simply replaces broken rods, I received a totally new and unfished rod, which I then took on several trips but did not fish after the break. The rod shows some signs of wear(and the sock/case are from the original rod) but it's actually not been fished a day. This is a great fast-action 7-weight that I purchased as a backup fly rod for bonefishing trips; I've used its predecessor for bonefish. Redfish, summer steelhead, and carp. It's a great big trout rod as well. I used it for several years as a backup rod; I recently purchased a new 7-weight, so my old 7-weight is now my backup, and this rod needs to move on to a new, good ... morehome. It's in great shape; clean cork and no real scratches- like I said. It's been carried around but not fished since my broken rod was replaced with this one. It is a fast-action 4-piece rod that really works well on a variety of species. There is some white residue on the reel seat. I made sure to show you a picture of the worst bit. It's paint from the gunwale of a flats-boat that transferred to the rod. Hard to get off, but has no effect on performance; you could probably scrape it off if you put some effort into it- I didn't. This rod retailed new for $250.00. It's a great backup rod or a steal for someone looking to make a great 7-weight purchase without breaking the bank.
