This is a limited edition Ross Reels/Winston fly rods fly reel. It has likely been used. But not much. It also comes with a Mulholland leather reel case, fur lined. Please note there is a scuff to the top edge of the case. Being leather, I'm would imagine this could be covered by shoe polish. This reel would seem to have collectible value, or it could just be a quality fly reel used for fishing. Personally, I am a fan of both Ross and Winston, which is why I took interest. I have a lightly used Ross Reels CLA5 with extra spool and two. One line is a scientific anglers Atlantic silver in 340 grain. The other is a Skagit setup by Airflo. I do not remember the grain. But it was used on a sage z-axis 6 weight spey rod if that helps determine the potential weight. There are some minor dings into the paint on the bottom of the reel from being in a drift boat, but the reel is in solid working order.

These are outstanding reels that are no longer made by Ross. I’ve had a few of them in size“0” and“1” and they’re really well made. Light, and perform great at handling fish without needing adjustable drag. I’ve landed some pretty hefty rainbows in the 4-5 lb range on this size“1” reel. This particular size 1 Colorado was a demo at a great fly shop in PA called The Evening Rise. And I purchased it from them as new in 2009. I changed the line in 2012 to some high end Orvis DT5F and I have not used this reel more than 5 times since doing so. Which is why I’m selling it. I hate to part with a reel that is so hard to find like this one, but the fact is I don’t think I’ll have a chance to fish with it anytime soon. Ross Big Game 4 Reel in Good Used condition with original pouch. Box and all paperwork. Reel has been sent in once for servicing only to Ross in Montrose, CO. The reel is the precursor to the Momentum Reel and has been fished some in salt but mostly in fresh water in Alaska for salmon. Reel works perfectly, and I would rate it as excellent if it were not for the boat rash on the body of the reel that I've tried to show in the photos. These reels are total workhorses with excellent drags that will hold up to any salmon, baby tarpon, big bones, etc and not let you down. This auction is for a beautiful ROSS CIMARRON C-3 FLY FISHING REEL. WITH AN EXTRA SPOOL. The reel and additional spool are in excellent cndition. This is also part of an estate we are liquadating. The condition is excellent, this reel was used very little. Both the spool on the reel and the extra spool have line on them. One is orange in color and I do not know what the weight is of this line, and the other is a light green, and in the last picture shows the sticker on the back of the spool. This is a very quality reel, and very versitable with the extra spool. I will be listing the matching St. Croix rod in another auction shortly. This is a good quality Ross CLA#4 Large arbor Fly Reel. It is smooth. Works properly and is in excellent cosmetic conditon. It has just been serviced by Ross Reels where they cleaned and replaced any defective, dirty, or lubricant fouled parts. OK: I admit it, I disregarded their warning and tried to lubricate the reel. It did not work out, so I had to send it in for service. When I got it back, I couldn"t believe how smooth and well the reel operated, and how strong the drag is. I now know better. Discontinued Ross Colorado in"0" size. Reel was manufactured from 1997 to 2004 in Montrose. Colorado. Factory specs are 3.3 oz, 2.7" diameter and.8" width. Rated for line weights 0 through 4. Single action, pawl/rim drag system and currently set up for right hand reel. Very lightly used with a few superficial marks on the outer face of the spool and reel foot.
