This is a post 1998 manufacture and style. There are light scratches around the edges, but overall it's not all that bad. No real damage other than cosmetics. I tried to take pics of all the scratches. Foot is fine. Drag works and tightens/loosens progressively. It is stored with the drag released. Currently set up for left hand retrieve, but is easily converted to right had retrieve if you so desire. There is no backing, no line, no case, no pouch, just the reel. Great reel to use and not feel bad about laying down on a rock or stream side. Payment and shipping terms: Paypal only. Or cash on pick-up. Sage TXL 2wt 7" 10" 3 piece rod with rod sock and factory tube. I am also including a weight matched Ross Evolution#0 Reel. I have Warranty cards for both the rod and reel. I also have the neoprene factory sock for the reel as well as the original box. Very clean and well taken care of set-up that has not seen much use. I removed the fly line at the end of last season so the reel has no line. The reel is copper and matches handsomely with the rod. I hate to see it go. Good luck bidding.

Ross Gunnison G2 (4-5-6 Weight) Fly Reel with Extra Spool
Ross Gunnison G2 which has fished#4/5/6 lines from Maine. Vermont, New York, Wyoming, Montana and Idaho. It is a wonderful reel to fish on 7 1/2' 9' cane and graphite rods. The drag is smooth and can really crank down if one so wishes. It's a very excellent reel to palm. The spindle is tight. No wobbling. It's had one owner- me. This auction is for an absolutely gorgeous fly fishing rod and reel combination. A Sage 8'6" 2-piece Graphite III GFL 586 RPLB equipped with a famed pre-1998 Ross Gunnison G-1 reel. Also included in the auction is a fabric covered tube carrying case. It has been at least 40 years since I used a fly rod and have never had the privledge of using one of this quality, so most of the information I am providing came from reading right off the equipment or from on-line research. The rod and reel probably date ... morefrom the 1980s and represent about the best quality that could be had at the time- and would be hard to better even now. The RPLB designation indicates that this was a Sage blank that was custom wrapped. It appears to me that the wrapping was done beautifully. There are virtually no signs of use or wear on this equipment. Everything seems to work as it should and the only cosmetic defect is a little chipping around the area where the two sections of the rod join. If you have any questions about these items. Ross CLA 5 Fly Reel for 8wt, 9wt and 10wt lines
Great. Well-proven, American-made large capacity fully machined, fully anodized fly reel by Ross. Virtually maintenance free, and suitable for fresh and salt water environments. Ross rates the reel for 8-10wt WF lines, with 250 yards of backing with a WF9 line. Ross rates the reel for 8-10wt spey lines, with 175 yards of backing. I have had very little use of the reel: it is perfect, with no dings, scratches, gouges or edge wear. I took the photos with a macro lens at high resolution: the lens picked up a surprising amount of lint. In any case, the reel is perfect cosmetically, and is essentially new, mechanically. It ships with the original box, owner's manual and Ross neoprene pouch.

As you probably know. This is a very collectable fly reel. You see them occasionally, but certainly less and less. I am liquidating my collection and this is the first to go. One of my prizes, but for a reasonable price, I'd like someone else to have it now. This is the original Ross Reel. This is the No.2 size with a serial number of 1017. I'm not going to elaborate. Because, frankly, if you don't know the rest, I'd rather you not have it. I'm including a leather reel case with fleece lining. Since they've been together as long as I've had this reel. I don't have box or paper. This was a fished reel, though you'd never guess. These are such a solid piece of work. And NO, it does not click. Ross San Miguel "one" fly reel and line
Up for bidding is a near perfect Ross number one weight reel. The San Miguel and line/backer/leader. This beautiful reel has been used less than five times since I purchased it in 2001. It is the smoothest reel I have ever used, and a perfect back country reel for your 0 to 2 weight rod. I had this master piece on my sage 181-3 which I have listed in another auction and if the same buyer wants to combine shipping I can do that. Cabela's HP3 Saltwater Fly Reel (Used, Made By Ross Reels, Similar to Cimarron)
Used Cabela's HP3 fresh and saltwater fly fishing reel in matte black guide finish. This reel was offered by Cabela's in the late'90s and was manufactured by Ross Reels(in the US. I think) It is very similar to the Ross Cimarron reels pre-1998, which had the same guide finish and similar strong brown disc drag. Those reels were known for their sturdy manufacture and bullet proof performance- this one should be no different. Mechanically the reel is in very good condition and should offer many more years of reliable service. Cosmetically it has a few marks and scratches in the paint/coating which I've tried to show in the photographs. There are also three small x's scratched into the inside of the reel seat that can't be seen when in use. The reel is approximately 3.625 inches in diameter and 0.8 inches wide. Ross CLA 3 Fly Reel for 5wt, 6wt and 7wt fly lines. Made in USA
Great. Well-proven, American-made fully machined, fully anodized fly reel by Ross for sale by original owner. Virtually maintenance free, and suitable for freshwater, warm water and saltwater environments. Ross rates the reel for 5-7wt WF lines, with 175 yards of backing with a WF6 line. I think that overstates the backing, though Ross may well use finer 20lb backing than do I. I have had little use of the reel: I had it rigged with a 6wt line, and cannot remember actually fishing my 6wt rod since I got this reel, though I must have. It does have some very slight edge wear that is difficult to see with the naked eye, but which can be, and has been, magnified in the fourth and fifth photos via a macro lens. Anything else you see is either lint, glare or reflections: the reel is pretty close to perfect cosmetically, and is essentially new, ... moremechanically. Early Ross Gunnison G-3 Fly Reel, NO RESERVE!
NO RESERVE! Never fished! This is a minty G-3 that was mounted on a rod a time or two but never taken fishing. It does have some very light marks on the reel seat from mounting and probably a few handling imperfections on the body and spool but you'd have to look hard to find them. Let's call it pretty close to 98-99% I just have too many reels so this excellent example is going to the highest bidder. The now legendary Ross Gunnisons have super smooth adjustable drag plus a palming rim and the G-3 has plenty of room for a 5-7 line line and backing. When first introduced. The Gunnison began a design revolution that brought us a new generation of fly reels of light weight and smooth powerful drags. Even today, the Gunnison gives away little to later variations on this theme.
