OK. I'm getting out of the switch rod deal-tried it and I like the single handed stuff too well. Here is a total 6wt outfit that is lightly used but in excellent shape. Ross Flyrise 1 Fly Reel With Rio Gold WF3F Fly Line
I have had this reel for a couple of weeks. And have taken it fishing once. The line was loaded onto it at the same time. There are a couple of small marks on the seat from mounting onto a rod, but other than that, no markings. Fly line is essentially brand new as well. Comes in original pouch. A very capable fly reel, and smooth as butter, as you would expect from Ross. Balances a three weight rod perfectly. Reel new is $105, line is $79, plus backing. This is Ross Reel is a classic and hard to come by now. Coveted by Spey casters and classic flats fishers alike. This Canyon Big Game 7 was gently used and is in rear perfect condition. It has never seen the salt. Just the reel seat of a two hander. Perfect for a 10-12 weight single hander or 7-9 weight spey. The only two noticeable marks are on the frame side and are shown in the last two photos. One is a nick in the anodize on the right side of the frame shown in the second to last photo. The Ross Evolution 1.5 Fly Reel being auctioned here displays but only a few ... moremodest signs of nominal cosmetic wear in the typical high traffic areas. As evidenced in the photos. There are some very minor surface scratches, scrapes, and light rubs noticed about reel and spool's rimmed edges and face, but the reel remains structurally and mechanically solid both overall and throughout. A quick testing of the reel's highly adjustable disc-drag confirms smooth increasing tension throughout its entire range. With no stutter, stick, or hesitation noted. And a thorough inspection of the reel's interior confirms all internal parts still perfectly intact and fully functional. With no excessive residue build up, tarnishing, or oxidization of component pieces found. The reel foot still appears straight and tight with no signs of warp or excessive wear noted. And the reel's handle and spool-release button mechanism still function perfectly without issue too. Presently set for left-hand-wind but easily changeable to right should the new owner wish. This is a lightly used Ross CLA-4 USA made fly reel with a used Rio Smallmouth WF7 fly line. The line is connected to the reel with new 30lb. backing. A great combination for larger trout. Bass, smaller landlock salmon, strippers, and smaller salmon. Included is the original neoprene case. If you bought this fly reel and line combination new they would cost you between $275 and $325. This Ross reel was the predassessor to the Ross Canyon Big game reels. It is in very good to excellent condition. And functions perfectly. There were three reels in the Canyon series, 2, and#3. Great condition. Minimal wear. Gold brushed color, has line in it. Comes in pouch. Sins great, very smooth. The reel is used for big game fishing. Very smooth/strong drag. The sound is a pleasant(to me) light metallic buzz. In and out. Durable, consistent drag pull, loads of line, and rather nice looking reels.
Winston fly rod BIIX 8' 4WT and Ross fly reel Evolution LT 1.5
One is a great fly rod and reel combo. The Winston BIIX is a great medium action rod the delivers dry flies and unweighted nymphs and streams with great accuracy. The reel is workhorse that will withstand any abuse and keep working. Great drag. This rod and reel are perfect for fishing spring creeks or other small streams. As well as having fun with warm water fish. The reel is like new and has not seen a great deal of fishing. The rod was custome made by a friend and was made with the finest components. The bellinger realseat is a work of art and cost $100 new. The wraps are nice though some of the epoxy has dried uneven. I can send close up pics if you would like to see.
