There are light scratches around the edges, but overall it's not all that bad. No real damage other than cosmetics. I tried to take pics of all the scratches. Foot is fine. Drag works and tightens/loosens progressively. It is stored with the drag released. Currently set up for left hand retrieve, but is easily converted to right had retrieve if you so desire. There is no backing, no line, no case, no pouch, just the reel. Great reel to use and not feel bad about laying down on a rock or stream side. Payment and shipping terms: Paypal only. Or cash on pick-up. Unless prior arrangements are made, payment must be received by me within 72 hours/ 3 calendar days from the end of the auction, otherwise the non-paying bidder process will be started through eBay. The reel has a terrific one-way drag, from almost free spool to full stop, with a large indented drag knob. New, it lists for $200, and is rarely discounted, and not discounted much, even on Ebay. I used it as my primary 5wt reel, with over 100 yards of 20lb backing. I don't think any reel switches from right to left hand wind and back, more easily: no tools, no disassembly and no loose parts. The reel works perfectly. It does have some edge wear in the usual area(the bottom leading edge, when seated) on the frame, only. The spool is unmarked. This Ross. Gunnison 2 Reel, was first introduced in 1987, and has been the workhorse of fly reels. I would compare it to the Calcutta, of bait casting reels in respest of bang for your buck! I own 2. I am listing this reel as"used" because I do not have the box. And because I put a line on it and mounted it on a rod. I bought this reel for a vintage fiberglass rod, but once I put it on the rod, I realized it is too light. This rod is a beast and needs something about twice the weight to balance correctly. So I took the reel off the rod, took the line and backing off and am now selling it. The reel is basically in the exact same condition as when I brought it home, except missing it's box. I will ship it in a Ross box though, but one from a different reel. Also there are two small holes in the neoprene case. Up for sale is this extra spool for an Orvis DXR 7/8 fly reel. This spool will only fit the DXR 7/8 version purportedly made by Ross Reels. And will not function properly with the Lamson made DXR 7/8. So please be sure you have the correct reel before bidding. The easiest way to tell the two spools apart is by the spool latch release and cover. It should appear as the one shown in my second photo, with a swing type switch, not the push in variety. This spool looks to have seen a lot of action. There are numerous scratches and nicks along the rims. On the counterbalance the rubber o-ring.
