Excellent+ condition. Lightly used. Like new! The 2500 series are lightweight large arbor reels. They’re made from hard anodized. Aerospace grade aluminum and are approximately twenty percent lighter(Sage spec. than their equivalent sized 3000D counterparts. In the hand this weight reduction is quite discernable. The reel has a pewter colored finish with a black cage incorporating offset 3:1 gear reduction graphite drag. This is calibrated 1 to 10 for smooth reliable operation. The reel comes with original black neoprene case and the original box and instructions. The extra spool comes with its own original neoprene case as well. These reels are built to fine tolerances with a satisfyingly high standard of finish. When first handling one of these reels you’ll notice there is no obvious spool release. Rather than employing a sprung catch or ... morescrew mechanism the spool is push fit. To remove the spool turn the reel face down. Hold by the fingers and thumbs and press forward lightly– the spool will disengage revealing the self-lubricating drive gear. The 2550 reel is meant for a 5/6 line. Offered for sale is a vintage Sage model 106 FLY REEL in good condition. The reel was made in England by BFR(British Fly Reels) and sold in the USA under the SAGE brand name. The reel still works fine and has fly line backing but no fly line on it. The reel can be either right or left handed retrieve- currently the backing is set up for left handed retrieve. The reel has two spots on the edge with paint wear as shown in ther pictures- overall a nice affordable Sage fly reel. Could be use for either trout or bass. Selling exactly how it was found.
