Original owner of the rod that put Sage on the map in the mid 90s. Excellent condition. And includes original sock and tube. This is a medium fast to fast action 4 pc. rod. Although slightly slower than the current Sage ONE. I scoped each section carefully, and was only able to find two very small surface scratches, barely visible, and some enamel chipping on the unlocking reel piece, per the photographs. Cork is like new, guides, ferrules, and tip are excellent. The reel seat looks great, too. All my rods are well cared for. And this one could pass for a two year old rod easily, given the condition. The identical rod recently sold on eBay for $342.

Along with several others, and reels, into our Used equipment program, and am selling it for Betty Webb Moore, a customer of mine from SC whose husband is ill and is in a long term care facility. He has a good bit of fly fishing gear, all of it upper end stuff and in good condition. He can no longer use it so she has appointed us to sell his gear. You are looking at a SAGE GFL 890-2 fly rod. A 9 foot, 2 piece, 8 weight RPL series. This is a great rod, on a scale of 1 to 10 I'd say a solid 9 emphatically, its in great shape, well taken care of, no major nicks, scratches, dings, and reel seat doesn't look like its ever had a reel on it. Sage GFL 996-4, 9'6" 9wt RPL Fly Rod
I am a disabled Veteran. A member of and volunteer instructor for the Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing Program at the Long Beach Casting Club in Long Beach, CA. A long time club member recently gave to our project director a large lot of fly fishing gear to sell to generate funds for our program. This Sage RPL was a"back-up" rod and little used and the mint condition reflects just how little it was used. There are no scratchs or scuffs anywhere on the rod that I can find and only slight discoloration on the cork show that the rod was ever fished. The RPL line of rods were discontinued by Sage about 10 years ago, but many(me included as I own 2 RPL myself) consider them the finest fly rods ever produced by Sage. You are bidding for a 10' fly rod Modell RPL of the famous american tackle brand SAGE. It is a 3 piece rod of#8. This rod has been well fished but still is in good used condition without any damages. There are only a few minor scratches on the varnish of the connections as they usually appear with the time of use. Furthermore there is the original cloth bag and the metal tube. To this it is to say that the lid of the tube is marked with RPLX 9' 9. So I am not sure if the whole tube or just the lid originally belongs to that rod. Anyway, the tube is on of the RPL Series due to the colour and fits the rod perfectly well in length. Sage RPL Graphite III 490-4 4 wt. Fly Rod
Original owner. In wonderful condition, 4 piece, 4 wt. 9' rod with original sock and tube. This is my last RPL. And my favorite of the three I've owned. The action is medium fast, and this is the 4 wt. rod you can use in a small steam or pond, or when the wind is howling on your favorite river or lake. It casts large flies with ease. The cork has never been cleaned. And as you can see from the pictures it is like new. Other than a small blemish on one of the ferrules(see pic) and a few light scratches on the tube, the rod looks like it's barely been used. I am selling to finance my fiberglass rod habit, so take this classic beauty now.

SAGE RPL 690 4 PIECE FLYROD Used. But in'pristine' condition, this has been my'backup' streamer rod that has seen very little actual use and has spent the majority of time in it's aluminum rod tube. This is the rod that'won the west' as it is a great, big river, streamer, hopper, nymph rod that relishes throwing a long line. into the wind! As stated the rod is in pristine condition, with no real wear marks, or scratches on the blank itself, or the reel seat. I-10( 10 being the best) I would rate it as a 9.5. This is an extremely nice rod, and was one of the first of the true"fast" action rods of it's day. This rod can handle everything from stripers to snook to steelhead.
