This is a spool of Scientific Anglers Streamer Express sinking fly line. Used. But in very nice and clean condition. This is typically a salt water line but I have only used it in fresh water. About a year old but in really great shape. I can't see any wear on it. This is weight forward. 450 grain sinking line for 10-13 wt rods. Red running line with grey sinking head. 100' total length. Line has plain ends with no loops. The only time I have ever cut on this line is when I cut 1/4" off to remove my nail knot, other than that it is untouched.

In keeping with my new year's resolution to sell equipment that I don't use any longer. I am offering a Scientific Anglers System 2 Disc Drag Reel and Spare Spool. This outfit is made in England. If you know anything about these reels it is that they are bombproof. The reel housing and spools are free of nicks but as the pictures show, the reel housing contains areas where the anodized finish has worn off. There is also some wear of the anodized finish on the spools but much less so and it is confined to the rims. Both spools contain 20 lb dacron backing. The drag mechanism is very clean. I always back off the drag on my reels after use. Whether you are just getting started in fly fishing or want an inexpensive setup as a backup this is an attractive offer. Questions welcomed. I bought this reel new around 1989 for my one and only trip to Alaska thinking I would fish for kings that time and many others. It turned out the upper Alagnak had rainbows and a few silvers(yes. In the"wrong" numbered year) but no kings. There were a few at the takeout point but they were not interested in the Flash Fly, although another member of the party claimed to have hooked one on a Woolly Bugger. But I digress. My point is that the rig only got wet on two days max. A few years later a fellow club member with a boat invited me to go trolling for bonito exactly once, so it's been in saltwater a single time and was of course thoroughly rinsed afterwards. Photos include all parts of the reel you can see without taking it completely apart. The line is believed to be a Teeny 450-grain shooting head or whatever its technical ... moredescription is. And yes. You will get the nice little pouch too. A note about handling time: I have a full-time day job and also play church organ 3 times a week in different denominations. This auction is for a First generation Scientific Anglers G9 Graphite Fly Rod. I believe this rod was made around 1976. These early SA rods were made in the USA by SA and were of the BEST quality available at the time in terms of materials and workmanship. They were very well made rods with the finest fittings and workmanship on par with Leonard, Orvis, Phillipson and other top makers. The specifications on the decal butt end near the grip is a follows, Scientific Anglers 3M, System G9 100% Graphite, 284cm(9'4" Line weight 9. I am grading it as"near mint" since it is in flawless never fished condition but there is some darkening on the cork from handling and test casting it on the lawn. This two piece rod features stainless steel spigot type feurrels. Two ceramic stripping guides, stainless steel snake guides and tip top, ... morebeautiful burgundy wraps and burgundy anodized aluminum up locking reel seat and premium cork grip. This rod has a smooth sweet stroke not too stiff. It will make a superb Salmon. Steelhead and striper rod for big powerful fish and would work real well for freshwater bass casting big bass bugs. It comes with original rod sock and custom made cork fighting butt, NO rod tube. Some Background on SA Graphite rods: the first generation Graphite rod that SA/ 3M introduced in the late 70s to early 80s. For sale. A used but good condition Lamson Konic 2.0 reel spooled with Scientific Anglers Mastery Textured GPX 5WF Nymph Indicator line(whew! The reel is mechanically excellent, but does have some cosmetic rash on the edge of the frame as pictured. no dings or dents and the spool is straight and true. Up for auction in very good condition is a Scientific Anglers System 2 model 1011 big game fly reel and leather bag. This reel can be used for Stripers. Salmon, Steelhead, and Dorado. I have used this reel in Mexico several times and the drag system performed well. The reel comes with 30# Dacron backing and can hold up to 200 to 300 yards of running line. These reels can be used.
