It also includes about $150.00 worth of Airflo running line and a 480-500 grain Airflo compact skagit shooting head. This purchase will also include three different Rio Skagit Mow tips. The first is just a 10ft floating head that will help turn over those big flies that you are trying to keep close the surface. The second is 10ft tip that is integrated with 5 ft of floating and 5ft of T-11. The third head is just straight 12.5 ft of T-11. These Rio Mow tips run $25.00 dollars a piece. This would be a total value of $850.00. Again. This rod and reel has only been used twice so it is basically brand new. The only visible things wrong with this setup are two very small scratches on the reel. The scratches are so minuscule that they are almost not worth mentioning, but I am a totally straight forward seller. This package has everything you need to fish it, but a fly on the end of the leader. There are two pictures that include the only imperfections. One picture shows the tiny scratches on the reel. VTG 14' LEONARD Bamboo Salmon Fly Rod Steelhead Spey
This beautiful 14' Leonard salmon rod was made back when men were men. I'm unsure if the fellas of today. That believe lighter is better, would attempt to use it on their favorite Atlantic Salmon river, but it sure would look and work good with a Vom Hofe 504 hanging from the reel seat! If not for use, it could hang from one corner to another in the man cave. This rod is in excellent condition, but will need a few things to make it perfect and it would not take much. Obviously a few guides are off, which means that the wraps are dry. Four of the five guides are present, you will need to find one to complete the set. One section is a couple inches short, not a big deal on a rod of this length. The tips are in perfect condition with all guides attached, most likely because of the tube that they lived in. This rod is in very good condition. I'm not much of a spey caster but it throws overhand quite welll also. I just prefer single hand rods. Tube and sock are in good condition. This is a two-handed(spey) rod designed for steelhead fishing. It's 12ft 6inches in length. It's classified as a 6wt rod. The rod comes in three pieces. Very well-cared for by its previous owner and seldom fished, this powerful smooth-loading two handed fly rod shows only a faint few natural signs of nominal cosmetic wear and tear in the expected high traffic areas. As the photos show. The upper and lower cork grips display little hint of staining from previous handling, and remain overall free from any major chips, gouges, or excessive missing fill. Still bright and shiny like it once was new, the ultra-sturdy up-locking oversized reel seat still looks great and functions perfectly too. Rare Winston Bamboo Spey Rod. One of 3 by Brackett ever made!
Up for your consideration is an extremely rare Winston bamboo spey rod built by Glenn Brackett when he was still at Winston. It is a 12'6" 7/8. 3 piece, one tip hex in a beautiful Arne Mason case. Glenn made three of these back in the nineties as prototypes however, as he explained, at that time the market would not bear the cost of production. This particular rod was originally slated for fiberglass ferrules, but minds were changed at that time and nickel silver was used. This rod has never been fished, It has been on display in my home only. I did line it and cast it once, a 480gr scandi line worked quite well. Still, due to the rarity and extreme collector value, I couldn't bring myself to actually risk damaging it. All sections are exact length and straight.
