Up for bid is(1) Sage 9140-4 Graphite III GFL spey rod. In excellent used condition. Comes with original sock& tube. Rod in in excellent condition. Shows some normal wear on cork, blank& guides are in great condition. Used this rod as a backup to my other spey rod, so has not been fished a lot over the past year or so. This is one of the original Sage"brownies" that were so popular when Sage first really began concentrating on spey rods. It is not as stiff as the 9140-3, but fishes more like a 8-9wt. This is a 11-ft.6-wt. 4piece Sage Switch rod classic. Perfect size for light steelhead, The ZAXIS model is made of Gen 5 graphite; it is fast but not overly stiff. Use a 425 grain Skagit head or a 6-7 switch line and this will load and perform like the thoroughbred it is. Used for one season(and part of a second) It has been meticulously cared for and always transported in a case. No visible nicks or scratches on the blank. Sage 7141-4, 14'1" 7wt. spey fly rod
Ive had this stick for a handful of years and. Sadly, it has just collected dust for a while. This rod was advertised as a more scandinavian type of action. Personally, i found it to be similar in action to the classic brown blank 9140 but it is much faster to recover and stores alot more power. It absolutely launches skagits in the 550-575 grains. I never cast any scandi lines on it, but it should do wonders with a 525ish scandi. Unfortunately it is just to long for the tighter rivers i tend to fish more. It is slightly used. I only fished it a dozen days or so, as should be evident from the pictures. It has a few scratches from normal fishing wear. It will ccome with the factory tube and sock and has had zero repairs. Sage 9140-4 Graphite IIIe, Spey Rod, Excellent condition
Excellent condition. Spey Rod. No scratches on rod pieces. Tippet section was replaced by Sage a couple years ago(tree branch) The sage rod tube has some scratches, which is from rolling around in a driftboat on Deschutes trips. For past few years the rod has only seen limited use. Very good rod.
