Vintage St Croix 7 1/2' 2-Pc Fly Rod
This offering is for a vintage St Croix 7 1/2' fly rod that shows a little wear but is in pretty darn good overall condition. The decal has a scratch on it and the tip top has been replaced with a regular fishing rod top rather than a fly rod tip but the tip section is very close to the same length as the butt section so if there was any loss of tip it was minute at the very most. It appears the tip was just replaced. The handle is in very good condition overall but there is two very small blems in the handle that looks like a hook was stuck in the cork and a resulting hole about the size of half of a BB. Not much but is there so is described. Feel free to ask any questions and I will do my best to describe. Additional pictures are available so just email if needed. I bought this rod and reel combination last spring on ebay to go salmon fishing in NL but never used it as the fishing license was too expensive along with the requirement of using a guide. The previous owneer never used it except for some practice casts. There is no marks on this equipment at all including the cork handle. To use for backpacking trips for brookies in the the mountains, but I only used it a half-dozen times before taking a job out of the area and don't have access to that kind of fishing. It's been in my closet since. Very lightly used. Sweet little rod. Good for backpacking, but can handle heftier fish if you tie into them. The rod alone was $250 new. 6'6. Three-piece St. Croix Avid, in four-weight. Comes with original case. There are a couple little nicks on the butt- see photo below. Besides that, the rod is in excellent condition. This sale includes an LL Bean Quest reel. Loaded with WF 4-weight line. I believe the line is Scientific Anglers, but it's been a few years.
