There are some scuffs and scratches and the handle shows wear, especially the very butt of the handle. However, the rod is structurally sound and is a beautiful custom rod. Its rated for 2-6lb line but I think its underrated. I used 8lb main line and 10lb main line without a problem. WW2 US Navy submarine commisioning badge/ button for the USS Steelhead. 1 1/2 inches round in size. Yellow letters on the dark blue base color. Pinback with a simple double loop metal pin catch. Great condition with a slight bit of corrosion on the reverse side. Given out to the people there on commisioning day in Portsmouth. New Hampshire. USS Steelhead. A 1525-ton Gato class submarine built by the Portsmouth Navy Yard. Was commissioned in December 1942. She went to the Pacific to join in the war against Japan in February 1943 and began her first war patrol at Pearl Harbor in April. While Steelhead attacked no enemy ships during this cruise. Which took her to Japanese home waters, she did lay a dozen mines and used her gun to bombard a steel mill on Hokkaido. The submarine's second patrol, into the central Pacific, took place between ... moreJune and August 1943, but produced no verifiable sinkings. Steelhead went to the Gilbert Islands in September to cover an Army Air Forces bombing raid. Then voyaged to the Palaus in search of enemy shipping. While in the Carolines on 6 October she joined USS Tinosa(SS-238) in sinking the Japanese Navy oiler Kazahaya. Sent back to Japan in late December 1943 for her fourth war patrol. Steelhead's torpedoes claimed the salvage vessel Yamabiko Maru on 10 January 1944. She hunted in the East China Sea in April and May. But her only sinking was a trawler that fell victim to her deck gun. In June-August 1944 she was teamed with USS Hammerhead(SS-364) and USS Parche(SS-384) to operate as a"wolf-pack" in the waters between the Philippines and Formosa. Steelhead participated in a successful attack on an enemy convoy at the end of July and was credited with sinking two and a half ships. The submarine was then overhauled on the West Coast. F58337, FS85C 8 1/2' 8 1/2oz. 3/8- 1oz. lures, 8- 15LB line. This will be shipped in a hard tube! We will combine shipping where it is possible. Custom made Sage GSH 3113lb centerpin / steelhead float fishing rod
Up for sale is my custom made Sage GSH 3113lb rod. Custom tied for a centerpin reel. I purchased this rod from an angler in British Columbia, and when I received it I found it is a little too much rod for the waters I fish in Ontario. This is considered to be the best float rod there is for steelhead and salmon fishing. It has a beautiful action– just enough power to handle the biggest fish you can throw at it, yet enough flex and sensitivity to fish light leaders for those finicky steelhead. It took me over 3 months to find someone willing to sell this rod, and as any steelheader will know they are very hard to come by. These blanks are no longer made, and the newer green CP blanks put out by Sage are not the same. This is the original brown Graphite III blank– the newer ones are built based on the 3113MB– which is heavier. Makes an excellent ... moresalmon rod, and can be used for steelhead as well. This rod is in mint condition, not a mark on it– the pictures speak for themselves. G.Loomis STR 1082S GL2 Steelhead Spinning Rods
These optimal river rods are perfect for catching steelhead and salmon. They are light weight but they are able to provide you with power against the'fighter' The tips are not as fragile as the 1141's and provide additional spine and power for the larger fish with 6lb test. They were used for a year guiding and they are in like new condition. The cork on all of them are in prime condition and the rest of the rod have plenty of life left in them.
