This 2 piece 3 1/2 ounce rod is ... moreperfect for drift boat fishing. Big rivers and lakes. As you can see, the tip top and the ferrules are quite nice. The wraps are still shiney. The overall condition is very good save for one barely noticeable flaw. Inspection reveals one foot on the hook keeper is out of its wrap. So it's currently held firmly in place(see picture) with black tape. I'm told this is not unusual for vintage Scotts. A friend also owns a Scott rod from this period and his hook keeper has done the same thing and is being held in place the same way. Otherwise there are just a few tiny scrapes on the rod totally consistent with its age(approximately 25 years old) Original cloth rod sleeve and original rod tube included.

Vintage Bamboo Fly Rod - Nickle Silver Hardware, Agate tip tops
Decided to let go of another rod. It is a vintage rod with no makers marking other than the signature wrap. Have been told that it could be an early high end Montague from the 1920s. But that's just an opinion. I haven't fished this rod or cast it so don't know the line weight, but would guess it to be a 4 or 5wt. I have the original bag and tube, but the tube is missing the cap. I'm pretty sure the finish has been redone by a previous owner. It's a three piece 9 1/2' all the sections are full length. Bamboo has the mottled flamed appearance. This is for a vintage Bamboo fly rod. The rod is 4 pc I think it is 2 ends and the middle and handle. i dont know anything about rods but this one looks very nice and well made. I can not find a name anywhere on this rod. Maybe the red handle will give it away to someone but I dont know. There is 2 problems with the rod. The first is the one end that connects the rod is detached(See Pic) and the other is the one tip on the one end is missing. The finish on the rod is very shiny and nice. In the shape of a MOUSE, measuring about 1" in length, carved out of a floating grained piece of wood with ears, a tail, eyes and a very small treble hook in absolute lifelike proportions. The tail, made out of some hide material is about 1 3/8" long and is in black. The black eyes are recessed. I have fished a"kissing cousin" of this marvelously carved fly rod lure of a mouse in a down stream dead drift. I have actually seen a salmon come up to it from down stream and just lie there kind of lookin' at it. As I twitched the fly rod lure. Was a friends gandpas, i don't know the age of the split bambo fly rod. the Butt piece is about 38-1/2" the middle section is the same as the butt. One of the tips is 34-1/4 inches& the other tip is 31-1/2 inches. Also has 2 canvas storage socks, one for the tip sections& one holds all pieces including aluminum brass tube tip container, tube about 39 inches. The pieces have not been put together in a long time, i put one piece one a little bit and it was to tight to completely slide on because a grease like protective lubricant has waxed up. so i decided not to put the rest of the rod together& allow the new owner of this rod to clean the fittings& re-lubricate the fittings, Thus i cannot tell you the ... moreassembled length of the rod. i pulled the piece back apart of course& the good popping sound was heard when i seperated them, this is good, it looks to me like all the pieces fitting will clean up nicely& fit snuggly after proper work. Rare Vintage Phillipson Pow'r Pak't Bamboo Fly Rod Excellent Condition
You are bidding on Vintage Phillipson Pow'r Pak't 9’ 3 piece, 2 tip 5-5/8 oz. HCH Bamboo rod in excellent condition. Description: This is a 9' 3/2 rod weighing 5 5/8 ounces that is rated for a HCH or 7 weight line. Although many prefer it with a 6 weight. Rod is marked 29 and 9- 5 5/8 HCH directly above winding check- All sections are straight and full length. All wraps and hardware are original- Varnish is in excellent shape- The Grip is the only exception to an otherwise excellent condition rod. It has about three small chips in the cork. Please see detailed photos. Reel seat shows minimal wear- Comes with original cloth rod bag and original aluminum tube but I could not find the original cap so I fashioned up a replacement. This is a very versatile rod capable of handling large dry flies. Nymphs, streamers, sinking lines, high ... morewinds, big water, you name it. This auction is for the vintage HSB&CO Revonoc Split bamboo pack rod shown in the photos. This is a restoration project. It's missing some ferrules and guides. The ferrules that are there will need cleaning up to fit properly. The shafts are not equal in legnth(shown in photos) I see no signs of separation. The carring case is stiff and worn. This is a nice rod to restore as a collectable but not very practical for fishing. The handle and cork look to be in very good condition. What you see is what you get. Sold as is! Rod looks like it was never used, other than a small rub mark on the varnish between the 3 and 4th eye, this rod is MINT, rod is beutiful. The case is in excellent condition with no cracking anywhere even on the lid snap is all complete, which allways seems to be broken or gone. Here is a Vintage Sharpe's of Aberdeen Scotland Bamboo Fly Rod. This is a 2 piece 1 tip with a length of 8 feet 9 inch es long. The rod is in great shape with nothing missing or broken. This is a impregnated rod and has a bamboo ferrule plug with English twist guides. The f errules are brass and have a A-27 stamped on both the male and female ferrules. The rod section are not the same length by des ign. The Scottie Dog logo is visible and this is called an"88" with a line weight of 5-6. It comes with original bag and a metal tube. The reel is also a Sharpe's"The Gordon" 3.25 inches in diameter. The reel is in great shape and nothing missing or broken on it as well. There is a level#5 loaded on the reel. Vintage split bamboo fly rod ca. 1963
My mother bought this fly rod in Dublin Ireland in July 1963. On a family trip. Each of us, Mom, Dad, my younger brother, and I bought matching rods. I used mine, Dad lost his, And this is my mother's. Idoubt she used it more than twice(she believed in bait casting) So this is a virtually unused vintage gem. A really neat feature of this rod is that you can use it either as a 96" fly rod( it throws a 6 weight line) see picture#4 or, by using the other tip it can be used as a 65" spinning rod. See the picure#1. This rod comes with an extra tip for the fly rod( sooner or later you will close a car door on the rod! and a black fabric rod sock.All the rod segments are shown in picture# 6. VERY RARE H.L. WEBSTER MODEL # 50 3-2 VINTAGE BAMBOO 8'4" FLY ROD VERY NICE COND
Up for auction is this vintage original condition H.L. Webster model# 50 8' 4" fly rod. This original condition fly rod has been in hiding for many years and now is going to be sold. Put together it is a very nice soft action rod but I do not know what weight line it uses nor how many ounces it is. It's overall condition I feel is pretty good. Alas it does have one{ 1} repaired tip section right above the ferrule, as seen in pictures. It is a very nice and professionally done repair. All guides are very tight with none bent. Missing or showing any corrosion. The ferrules are solid and mate together nicely. The cork looks to be a very nice grade showing no hook marks and moderate hand staining from use. The reel seat is excellent, works fine and is very well integrated into the rod design with wood in its structure, very pretty ... moreand nicely done. There is some varnish{finish} checking but the gloss is nice, and the chipping, nics, and scrapes are pretty negligible for a used rod like this. This really is a rod that would be hard not to use, its light, with a nice soft action and well constructed. The only set I see is in the non repaired tip and it's slight, the other 3 sections are very straight. This rod comes with what I believe to be it's original rod sock and tube. The butt section measures 33 15/16" as does the mid section. The non repaired tip is 34 1/16" and the repaired tip is 34" The identifying writng{signature} is excellent. The wrappings are somewhat plain in color but very tight and spaced properly. Well. Thats about it. Any questions please ask, I will do my best to answer them. The set is complete with vintage flies, Grampus Trade Mark Fishing, Kiraku Japan in original plastic wrap, Line winder and 5 wood bobbers which are also mint in original plastic wrap, line, and original letter from the Grampus Fishing Supply Co. This old Dave Cook's Tarryall split bamboo fly rod is really outstanding. As can be seen in the pictures. The original guides and eyes are all present. The rod is perfectly straight, the bamboo is tight and the rod shows little evidence of use. The handle appears to be made of black walnut wood. The total length is 8 foot 8 1/2 inches. The butt and middle sections are 35 inches and the tip section is 34.5 inches. The old rod holder in the photo comes with it. The rod weighs 6.3 ounces. Priority Mail postage in the US is $15.
