The knives are in a very elegant pattern with tasteful amount of flourishes. Scrollwork, small fan or shell forms and flowers. The blades are engraved on one side with a lovely swirled acanthus leaf. The knives have never been monogrammed. They were made in Providence, RI between the 1840s-1850s, by the company that eventually would become the Whiting Manufacturing Company. The knives are marked on the blades with the Tifft& Whiting company mark of the initials T& W between a rooster and arm holding a hammer. We have tested these knives with nitric acid and guarantee them to be coin silver. 900 purity silver. Both the blades ... moreand the handles are coin silver. The condition is excellent. Listed for sale is a Frank Whiting Sterling Silver Footed Pepper and Open Salt Set. The bottom of both pieces are marked. Reproduction Sterling By Frank Whiting& Company" followed by a circled"W" surrounded with leaf like accents. The pattern is marked underneath as"George II" 836" The pepper stands 4 3/4" tall and measures approx. 2 1/2" at it's widest diameter. The lid screws off easily. The salt measures 3" in diameter and stands approx. 1 1/4" tall. These pieces are not glass lined. The salt does not have a glass insert and shows signs of salt corrosion inside the bottom. Though they both need polishing. I see no dents or other notable imperfections in either of these impressive pieces. Please refer to the attached photos. Frank M Whiting Co s terling silver chamberstick. It measures about 4" in length. 3 1/2" wide and 2" tall. It is reinforced and weighs 60.3 grams on my digital scale. There is a place at the base of the cup where it has been solder repaired. It is shown in the last picture. The bottom reads. Sterling by Frank M Whiting& Company N226 Reinforced. It has the Whiting trademark. There are some hand engraved letters barely not iceable on the bottom. I have tried to picture them for you as well. There are no other dings. Dents or pitting that I can see. There are some fine surface scratches from ordinary use. Please examine all pictures carefully and ask any questions BEFORE BIDDING.

The candelabra is marked with Whiting’s maker mark. Sterling 6441. This weighs 2241.3 grams. The candelabra measures 17” tall, the base is 8 1/4” in diameter and the arms are about 14 1/4” across. There are 3 cracks in the arms that are indicated in the photos. There are some surface scratches but no dents. Please see all the photos. We accept Paypal and personal checks. This table snuff box is deeply engraved in the Georgian style. To both top and bottom. It is made of a heavy thick gauge sterling silver by Whiting of New York City. NY by Whiting, active from 1840 to 1926, at which time it was acquired by Gorham. To the lid of the box is engraved“J. R. Claggett” The lid is attached to the body with a full length(piano) hinge and a thumb clasp opener. It fits securely and tightly. To the interior lip of the body are the Whiting trademark. STERLING” and“8B” The box measures 3” X 2” X 1” tall to the lid’s bevelled and slightly raised center. It is in good used antique condition. With two dimple dings to the lid and three small dents to the underside. Any dark or bright spots not mentioned previously are reflections in photography.
