Vintage Hardy Neroda Tortoise Shell 40 clip fly box
This is a classic Hardy Neroda'tortoiseshell' fly box probably dating from around the 1940s with clips for a total of 40 flies. Measuring approximately 6 1/4" x 3 3/4" x 1/2" deep(15.5 cm x 9.5 cm x 1 cm) the overall condition is excellent with no chips or dents. Other than a few very minor. Fine scratches only visible in bright light, it almost looks new. You may be interested in my other listings. Which includes a rare Hardy Bougle Mark IV reel with D shaped Hardy block leather case. Six triangular packets of gut snelled hooks, a lead sinker, an envelope postmarked 1901 with gut leaders inside and a loose snelled hook or two. Included among the snelled hook packets are a Sneck No.4 with four hooks, a Kinsey No.11 with six, a Harrison, Bartleet's No.4 with three, a Carlisle No.1 with six, a packet with"Bass" and New York on the front by W.B. S. Redditch with six and a Harrison's No.2 with 4. I believe the value may be more than I think. The book is 6" x 4" x 1.5" when closed. There is a base Tin container& 4 Fly pages. Posted with On Jun-07-13 at 11:47:27 PDT. Seller added the following information: The fly-book also contains original lead line. That apparently was used to weight the fly line. As this vintage kit is 80 years old, someone knowledgeable in fly's can perhaps identify the person who produced the Fly's or the brand as I have no knowledge. I did see one of these sold for considerable money in the past and i don't have any clear value other than what I have been told.

Here you have a great assortment of 11 vintage trout or any freshwater fish flies. This was found in an old tackle box in Michigan. I cannot tell the makers of the flies but it may come from old Michigan companies. From what I can see there are wolly buggers. Streamers, dry flies, wet flies and a popper. Please judge the condition from the pics as I am not an expert. These would make a great addition to anyone's collection or for someone going retro. This is tied in all the original materials, including my"bulbous" pearl eyes and original body style(See insert#1) The 2nd one down is a variation. The WOLFEBORO BAY FLASH 1991-1992. Never very popular. But marketed for several years. Has same custom body, stick-on eye, pearl crystal flash At the bottom is another variation. The WOLFEBORO BAY_ CRYSTAL 1993. This was never marketed. but some appeared in permanent frames. This pattern was featured in many books and articles. A GRAY GHOST STREAMER FLY tied by Jim Warner mounted on a Vintage Card
You are bidding on a new GRAY GHOST.Streamer fly tied on an old 10X size 4 Rangeley Streamer loop eye hook. to the exact specifications of Mrs Stevens's famous pattern. Many of the colors have been matched as wekk as possible to the original. In my lifetime of tying flies commercially for stores. Individuals and the jobber trade, I did more gray ghosts than any other single pattern. The orange body seemed to be standard, although I believe that a more yellowish-orange appeared in many of her flies. The wing color also seemed to be a more browinush gray, yet most of my commercial product had a standard gray. In this offering I have given the Gray Ghost a wing of the gray I think she used. Years ago I remember a conversation with George Fletcher of Rangely, Maine, who I did some feather business with, as well as, Mrs Stevens. He told me ... morethat if her order was not the right color, she would send it back. Well. This is one of my all-time favorites. WEBER Vintage fishing flies; 16 Lifelike flies tied by Weber of Stevens Point
Sixteen piece set of fishing lures by Weber Lifelike Flies; tied by Stevens Point. Hairakle; these were my Dad's and he might have received them from my grandfather. The flies are 1/2 to 1-1/2" long; they come in an approximately 2-1/2 by 2-1/2" box with a spider design. The insert has a# F21-30 FM 3-9 in the bottom corner. Pictures shown above.
