Classic Browning Model 222975 Silaflex 7 1/2' Fiberglass Fly Fishing Rod 2/1
This two piece 7 1/2' fiberglass fly rod is in excellent condition. No indication that it has ever been fished. There are no marks on the anodized aluminum reel seat. No wear on the ferrule. I am told that this was made soon after the Browning acquisition using Silaflex-made blanks. The reel seat is stamped with serial number 443159. This comes with the original bag and brown painted aluminum tube. A super quality rod for the fiberglass collector.

Vintage NEW NEVER USED Browning Silaflex fiberglass fly rod w/case and rod sock
I am so excited to bring this Wonderful Vintage Browning Silaflex Fly Rod to auction. The model number is 222974 as shown in the 4th picture and uses a#6 line. It is truly amazing to find this quality rod in new unused condition. It has been sitting on a shelf for 50years just waiting for someone that appreciates it's to give it the home it deserves. As you can see the original tube it came in does show some scuffs and it also has old cracked masking tape on it. The case could probably be cleaned up to look almost as good as new by someone that knows what they are doing. The original Browning Sticker is still present and in pretty darn good condition.considering" I have to admit I am not a"fisherwoman" But my late Father and Grandfather did impose on me an appreciation of quality workmanship in tools and implements, and ... morewhile I can't use them properly, I can appreciate their beauty. NICE Vintage Browning Silaflex 7' 6" Fiberglass Fly Rod w/ Case - Model 322975
Up for auction today is a really nice vintage Browing Silaflex Fiberglass 2 piece Fly Rod. This rod is a model 322975. It is 7' 6" long. Weights 2.8 oz. and is recommended for size 6 line. This rod is in really great condition- I doubt it was used much! The decals and finish look great- there's very little visible wear! All of the eyes are intact. There is a tiny spot of tape residue near the cork handle. There is also a little rubbing or wear where the rod goes together, and a little bit on the end of the handle where the reel attaches. The original cloth case, and original hard plastic tube case are also still with this rod! The plastic case does show typical use wear. The original foil sticker came loose at some point and someone taped it back on, and there is other tape residue just below that where someone probably had their ... morename pasted on it. This another barn find in mint condition this beautiful brown fiberglass rod that looks perfect as well as the rest of it. It has the original sock and tube that also look untouched. Here we have piece that proves newer is not better thank God for those original troutbums that shared there passion with the world. This is a browning silaflex model#322975 7 1/2 ft. 6wt. fly rod 2.8oz. this rod cast a five weight line beautifully with the bamboo feel as expected in premium glass rods and this one is no exception. These line of rods were produced in the 70s and were considerd the best rods made. These rods inspired the fenwick ferralight rods as well as bill phillipsons eponite rod blanks as they were strong thin walled glass rods with glass spigot ferrels these were considerd the best medallion rods made. Very Unique Vintage A & F Fly Twin Fiberglass Fly Rod made by Browning Silaflex
This unique fiberglass fly rod was marketed by abercrombie& fitch in the 1960's. It was built by Browning Silaflex. It is a 2 tip of different sizes making the rod a 2 piece 7'9" for a HCF line or a 7'6" for a GBF line. The rod appears to never have been used with no marks of any kind. The sock and tube look original. I have included a picture excerpt from a 1966 A&F catalog describing the rod.

Pre-Browning Silaflex Medallion 8' fly rod MF-80-2
This pre-Browning Silaflex Medallion fly rod is an 8 foot. 2 piece 7 or 8 weight rod. It was cataloged in the early'60's as HCH, which is 7 weight, but it is also nicely smooth and medium flexing with a WF-8 line, making it perfect for smallmouth(which is my quarry) largemouth poppers. or Dolly Varden up north! The Medallions were the top-of-the-line Silaflex fly rods, and included a high grade double screw downlocking aluminum reel seat, sizematic ferrules(this one still has a good rubber gasket) and near translucent brown blanks. Some of the decorative thread wrapping is coming loose from a few of the guides. The fraying can be snipped off with no effect whatsoever on the strength of the wrap for the guide. Browning Silaflex Vintage Fly Rod 322986
This is a vintage Browning Silaflex 2 piece fly rod. It was made in the U.S.A. and has a model number of 322986 for 8 or 9 weight fly line. They don't make them like this anymore. I'm just guessing. But this rod was probably produced in the 60 or 70's. The rod is in excellent condition and comes in original tube and cloth rod wrap. The cork could use a good cleaning, but that is an easy job. This vintage fiberglass fly rod was built in the mid to late 1950's and is the earliest version of the Sila Flex Medallion series with the foul proof guides. A competitor to the Phillipson Eponite and the Fenwick Feralite series. Comes with original rod sock and aluminum tube. Grip is made of very high grade cork and as you can see in the photos. Up for bid is a Vintage Browning Silaflex Model# 922985 8 1/2' Fly Rod that is in good used condition. The specs are as follow Length 8' 6" Weight 3-5 oz. Best Line AFTMA 6- 7. Overall a very nice rod the Label is about 99% there the eyes are all nice tight. Has what looks like Fuji Eyes a high end rod in its day. The rod does have some ware as the pictures will show but not bad. Also it should be noted that it looks like someone put like orange paint on the end of the rod as some rods are made this way from the manufacture but this isn't one of them has no effect on the rod performance. Vintage 1970 Browning Silaflex 7' backpacker fly rod. 4 piece, Model 332971. The rod is in excellent condition with little sign of use. No repairs, all original. The rod only weighs 5.3 oz. with the sock and tube the weight is 14.7 oz. Includes original sock and tube. The tube has some wear but still in very good condition. Any questions just let me know.

1960's Browning Silaflex Fiberglass FLY FISHING ROD-Model 222986 w Storage Tube Up for bids is a vintage Browning Silaflex tubular fiberglass fly fishing rod. The 8 foot 6 inch rod(as measures from the reel seat butt to tip of rod) is in near mint to mint condition and appears to have seen very little if any use. The model number is 222986 with a serial number of 600827 on this rod. The rod seat is a anodized alumunium with two lock nuts. Brief research appears to indicate that this rod was made during the mid to late 1960's. The plastic rod tube shown in the photographs is also included in the lot.it is a Browning Silaflex and has the matching model and serial number written on the outside label of the tube. It appears to have been the original rod tube for this rod. The reel seat on the rod is marked with the serial number that ... moreis on the tube. The rod is designed for line 6 or 7. Two vintage Browning Silaflex Fishing Rod brochures/catalogs. They are dated 1967 and 1969. The catalogs are the Canadian versions with the Canadian address of the Browning Arms Co. of Canada in Montreal. Quebec on the reverse. The catalogs show casting. Fly and spinning rods and other accessories. The brochures/catalogs fold up, but when unfolded they measure 11" x 24" Catalogs are in very good condition with minor wear(see photos for actual condition) Price in U.S. dollars.
