Purchased in the 1960's from a traditional and very rustic Paradise Valley. Montana fly fishing pro shop, this genuine Hardy Bros. Alnwick) hexagon bamboo still looks to be in near mint condition- It was purchased as used. Fished about 6x, but looks pristine with no obvious wear, which is the condition I kept it in for the last 40+ years. The rod is a 2-piece with one matching tip. The cork grip is VERY clean and shows no marks or wear. The ferrules are squeaky clean. Smooth and tight fitting, while the guides(including the brass butt guide and chrome snake intermediates) are all original with no signs of wear at all. Windings and varnish are pristine and show no wear; Comes with the original blue sock and aluminum rod tube. In excellent to mint condition. The sections are straight as an arrow, although the tip piece appears to be about ½” shorter than the butt section. One thing I can truly attest to is that this rod lays out an awesome amount of line and has the backbone to take on even the nastiest of sea run brown trout! I’ve walked this rod into a fly fishing pro shop– They examined the piece and looked it up in their“bible” estimating that with a single tip it is valued@ $700.00. Should you have any questions. Vintage P&K Modernist split bamboo tonkin cane fly fishing rod 8 1/2 feet long
I have for sale a hard to find and great size vintage 8&1/2 food split bamboo fly rod with tube and sock. Ready for fishing or collecting. Label is P&K otherwise known as Pachner and Koller out of Chicago. Rod looks like it was made by Horrocks and Ibbotson(H&I) There are two re-wraps on the mid section but all sections are equal length. Beautiful agate or agatine stripper guide on the butt section. each section measures 35 inches long and when fitted together the rod is 102 inches or 8 feet. 6 inches long. Nice length for a 3 piece rod. Rod probably dates to late 1940's early 1950's. Check out the pictures!

Vintage split cane casting rod. Six feet. Two tips. One side of the locking reel seet ring is scribed PAYNE and the other side says SOLD BY VON LENGERKE& ANTOINE CHICAGO. The rod has an old repair of the butt section just below the ferrule and one of the tips is missing the second to last line guide. The rod is in otherwise great shape. All sections are perfectly straight. The finish is original and in terrific condition. Very attractive hardwood reel seat. Ships USPS Priority Mail in a rigid tube.

The rod in casting configuration is two pieces, approximately 68" in length. The fly configuration is three pieces, approximately 103" in length. The reel holder tightens firmly. The handle is cork and does have a chunk out of it(probably where hooks were placed into it, see pictures) The center section of the fly configuration has slightly darker cane and the wrappings are dark blue not dark green, however all the pieces fit together properly and firm. old Vintage Rod RARE 3 Piece Unknown Split Cane Bamboo Spinning Rod W/Extra Tip
Wow! Heres a nice one. 3 piece split cane/bamboo spinning rod with extra tip. Comes with the original sock and what looks to be a wooden 4 sided section holder covered in green canvas. Notice that hole in the top of the canvas sock. All 4 sections are 35 inches each give or take a bit. 8 ft. 9 inch complete? I cant find any markings anywhere. So it could be a custom made rod or maybe an import? Tip tops are very unusual to me. One winding is a differant color on the butt section, so it may have been rewraped? I dont know much about these kind of rods, so just look it over and use your own judgement. Neat rod either way in pretty good shape. Very hard to find model. Wow! Look closely and bid accordingly. Vintage ~c1921~"Hardy" The Perfection" Split Cane Rod& Bamboo Rod Tube& Bag Please note this is on the UK site and listed in GB pounds. Vintage Hardy"Perfection" 2 Piece Split Cane Rod& Bamboo Rod Tube. This fabulous"Hardy Brothers" Perfection" rod is in"as found" condition and has not been restored or repaired by us. The rod measures approximately 10 foot 5 inches. including the handle) in overall length. The fittings and reel seat to the butt section are in alloy, however, there is a surface crack and a little corrosion to one side of the reel seat, but this is still sturdy and well attached. All of the rings are present and well attached. The butt and top rings are agate lined. It has a lockfast joint which is a good snug fit. The lovely dark burgundy whipping is in good order ... moreand I can't find any splits or cracks to the cane, the varnish has the marks and surface crazing that you would expect from a rod of this age. The top section of the rod has a slight"set or kink to the left. The brass butt is impressed with"Hardy Bros. Ltd. Alnwick, England" Pat. No. 14137" the Royal appointment crests and the number"C12822" 1921) Just above the handle the rod has"The Perfection Rod, No. 246936, Palakona Regd. hand written in Indian ink. The rod still has its' original bamboo rod tube. This is marked with"Hardy Bros. Ltd. Makers, Alnwick, England" the strap to the leather cap has broken at some point, but the tube is in good order. The rod also has its' original makers bag. This is a good example of a classic"Hardy Brothers" rod. It has taken on a lovely depth of colour and patina over the years and it still feels lovely to hold, well balanced and solid. Here for auction is what I believe to be a vintage split cane flyrod set up. Has its original wood case which states: Made In Japan For Marshall Company Inc. San Francisco. It appears to have never been used. There are 2 tip ends. One which is missing its eye at the tip and the set also appears to be missing the center rod length. There are a number of flies with it and a bobber and line and sinker. Great cork handle and this is a split bamboo cane rod. Part of the Marshall decal is missing on the rod. There is also a small end of the case that is missing. vintage antique split cane bamboo flyrod blank w two tippets
this blank comes from the glacier lake area. And is old the blanks are 36" long. One of the tip blanks looks like it has been wound with eyes at one time. photo included) But the other tip blank is unused. All the bamboo parts are in good condition. The metal connectors are cracked and need to be replaced. One connector is missing. Rod comes with blue holder. I have had the rod in my collection for fifteen years and bought it from the widow of the owner who died at age 85.

Vintage ORVIS Impregnated Battenkill Split Cane Bamboo Fly Rod GBF8 Two Tip MINT
This is a vintage Orvis Impregnated Battenkill Split Cane Bamboo Fly Rod. It is in absolute near mint condition. I don't believe it has ever been fished with. It is a 2 piece with 2 section Tips. And stands at 8 feet in length, 4 3/8 oz, GBF(8) and serial# 62739. The serial# is not listed in the Orvis database, but according to the serial numbers just before and just after this serial number, it was built in 1971. The#s are clearly written on both tip sections and bottom section of the fly rod where the sections connect. This rod is very, very clean with perfect bamboo and NO splits, cracks, or scratches whatsoever, except for a little bit of excess glue on one side in between the first and second guide. The reel seat is perfect, and the cork grip is perfect and very clean. There is a hook keeper which is also perfect. All loop guides, ... morewrapping, and tips are perfect and mint condition. The first guide is very slightly leaning back, but this apparently was the way it was wrapped onto the rod because there is no appearance of any bending due to negligence. This is a Vintage Farlow's Co. The Elf" Split Cane Bamboo fly rod. It was made by C. Farlow Co. In London. I don't know what year it was built. But it looks like it was never fished and is in excellent condition. The serial# on the but is 33672. The fly rod comes with 2 tip sections. The rod is a 4-5 WT and measures 6'6" in total length. There are 1 ring guide and 1 loop guide on the butt section, and each tip section has 6 loop guides plus the tip. All the guides and loop tip guides are perfect. The ferrule's are perfect and they slide into the main rod section with ease and has a snug fit. The cork handle is nice and clean with No imperfections whatsoever. All the guides line up nicely when the tips are attached. The wrapping is nice and perfect. There is a hook keeper ring and perfect. The rod itself is nice and ... moreclean. Fittings are somewhat tarnished but still in good shape and they fit together well. I am sure there was originally a second tip but it is gone. I am including a spare section that is from another rod just on the theory that the new owner may have a use for it and it will fill up the groove on the rod case/carrier. This particular rod is now a three piece and assembles to 118 inches with no missing legth or repairs to the bamboo. It is nice and straight. The three pieces. Plus the spare freebee section, will come on the rods original grooved wood storage carrier. It has ties attached that keep everything snuggly in place. Presently the sections are as follows: Base is 41 inches long. Nice and straight with no set and no cracks. ... moreCane repairs, or splits. Has two snake guides in place. Thre e wraps are missing. Twelve wraps are in place plus four more wraps for the guides. One of the guide wraps is a later repair wrap. Chromed brass Socket is in place and in good shape. Cork is in good condition. No missing chunks. Reel seat looks good and seems to work fine. There are some dents on the butt end. Middle section is also 41 inches. Cane is nicely intact with no cracks or repairs and no separations. Nice and straight with no set. Has three snake guides. Three of the snake guide wraps are later repair wraps. There are 18 other wraps and three missing wraps. Numerous wraps are either old and dry or loose and in need of repair or replacement. Chromed brass socket and ferrule are in good shape and nicely in place. They fit together pretty well with their mates. Top section is 38 inches. Tip top is in it's original location. There are three snake guides. Top snake guide has two replacement wraps and the other two have their original wraps. There are 22 other wraps and one missing wrap. Vintage Beaverkill Split Bamboo Cane Fly Rod
I'll be the first to admit I know NOTHING about fly rods so please bear with me! This was my husband's grandfather's rod. My husband doesn't fly fish and we're doing some major purging. I DO know this super old split bamboo? fly rod? measures 106" Nearly 9' I put the 3 sections together to measure it, but didn't force them to fit tightly. It is missing one'loop' where the line goes through) on the middle and the upper section. The bottom section is missing one too and the red thread is unwrapping. I'm sure those aren't the right terms but I think you can follow that. The cork handle has a couple of places where it looks like he may have held the line against? Not sure how that all works. Vintage Montague Rapidan Split Cane Bamboo Fly Fishing Rod w/ 2 Tips & Tube MINT
This is a vintage Montague Rapidan split cane bamboo fly rod with 2 rod tips. This rod is in excellent condition and doesn't look like it was ever fished. The cork handle looks absolutely brand new. The reel seat very clean and shiny, the ferrules all slide into one another with ease and are nice and shiny, the split cane bamboo is in perfect condition and is clean and glossy, and all the guides are in place. The hook keeper is perfect also. The Montague label has a piece partially missing(see photo) Each section measures 36 1/2 inches, and the fly rod is 9' ft all put together. This rod comes with the rod tube and rod sock. The rod tube is missing the lid on one side. I have described this rod to the best of my ability. Please see all photos. Good Luck! Posted with
