Vintage Fenwick fiberglass spinning rod "Lunker Stik", 7' (2.13 m) -- little use
Offered for sale is my little-used[including its having bought used(from an ex-wife) by me. Due to health and work demands, a late 60's- early 70's Fenwick 7' 2.13 m) fiberglass spinning rod, Lunker Stik' Its second last guide at outer rod-end was damaged upon a glancing blow on the bark of an old tree. Professionally replaced! Well-crafted fiberglass fishing rods have more advantages than disadvantages over(modulus- graphite rods. Professional fisherman still use their forty-year-old fiberglass'Fenwicks' I've uploaded one individual FUJI 14 meg-pix of this and another such inclusive of one Fenwick 7' 2.13 m) Classic Glass' factory rod of 1975, and one custom, fiberglass 8' 3" 2.51 m) COHO spinning rod of 1975. Delineating these are twelve scanned images- two sided for lunk_1a. lunk_3b, and one- ... moresided for lunk_4a. lunk_5b, as the rod- diameters were too small for useful two-sided inspection and too numerous. Do read the invoice for the Fenwick'Classic Glass' rod(bought directly from Fenwick as a replacement; old injured rod returned-with as a souvenir) and the group-of-three measurements, following. That is, largest and smallest diameters and thicknesses(using cellophane to prevent scratchings) I'll be listing the other two rods tonight; and one'D.A.M. Quick 440' reel(bought, used, with the'Lunker Stik' one Abu Garcia'Cardinal 155' reel; one also old Humming Bird'wps 60' depth sounder- soon. I'll be shipping the rods using rigid, thick, pcv home-sewer(Hey! Just what do fish eat, anyway) pipe, and enough small-bubble wrap and end-cushion pads. I know that is this is not the original Fenwick rod tube, but it was the tube that the rod was in at the estate sale where I purchased the rod at. Being offered for auction is a Vintage Fenwick"Lunker Stik" Model PLS66. The length is 6 1/2 feet. Weight is 6 3/8 ounces and is balanced for 1/2 oz. to 1 oz. lures, 8- 15 lb. test line. This rod is in"beautiful condition" and I doubt it has ever wet a line. The cork ring handle is very clean. Showing no wear. Ferrules and line guides are all intact, tight, and in excellent shape. This rod package includes the original cloth rod sack and a Fenwick rod hard-tube carry case. The carry case is actually labeled PLS70, which is for the vintage 7 foot model Fenwick rod(please refer to photos) The only difference in this case and the one for this rod is the label. Fenwick developed some of the first rods designed exclusively for the competition bass fishermen. Here is a vintage Fenwick Lunker Stik casting rod model 1250. 5' 8&7/8 oz 1/2-1 oz lure, 8-15 lb. line. This rod is used but still in near excellent condition with nice cork not missing any piece and not scratched up. Metal part of handle excellent with just a few small marks. Guides are all present and wraps are complete with no breaks or broken threads. Shaft very nice with some dullness and a few small marks but still very good. Label complete and very legible. This is a wonderful Collectors rod. A Fenwick"Lunker Stik" This rod was bought many years ago, and I have taken it on maybe 3 fishing trips. I like using the rods that have use on them, so I'm not sure if this one was fished or not. It does show signs of being used I would think, but it is clean as can be. If you are a Fenwick collector. This might be for you, if you are a fisherman, this is really for you, these rods can't be beat! there are a lot of higher priced rods, but the Fenwick is really tough to beat. I fish for Trouyt, Salmon, and Stripers, and these rods are the best! I have a 6'6" Lunker Stik that I would sell, but I'm not sure how to ship it. Email me with any questions. There is a serial number ink stamped underneath the eagle that reads I 83866. This fishing rod is a very collectable Fenwick rod. Probably from the late 1960's- 1970's(correct me if I am wrong) Mechanically it is in very nice condition with a nice reel seat, 7 nice line guides and wraps and a great connecting ferrule. The rod is not mint in appearance, but definitely not bad for the vintage. There are some small buffs and blems on the shaft and the cork is staind some. Fenwick PLS66 with tube and sock. Serial#L281249. Full set of Carbides. 6 1/2 feet long. Two pieces. Rated for 1/2-1 ounce lures and 8-15 lb line. The rod is in very nice condition. Guides. Wraps and graphics all look great. The blank has just a handful of light blemishes. The cork shows some light soiling/ wear, but is in good shape too. The tube is in nice condition, though the label shows some wear and has been secured with tape. Will be carefully packaged and shipped Priority Mail.

This fine old Fenwick(953R) belonged my grandfather. I somewhat remember him using it, it is 5ft 3in. long it has a full cork handle with 2 reel rings serial#R103349 I was told it was early 50.S when he received for a birthday gift. From my grandmother. it is extremely nice shape. all letterings are very readable. There is some tarnish on eye supports.
