This is a lovely vintage rod. Very usable with all whippings in place, or would also be nice to display. Appears to be an early kind of fibreglass, as there is a woven pattern, but many people have thought it was cane because of the lovely colour! The brass ferrules all work beautifully smoothly. unusual and lovely antique split cane fishing rod
I bought this split cane fishing rod years ago as I loved the way it looked. It was made by gamages sporting department and has been very lightly used if at all. The entire length of the rod has what looks like a brass mesh which attracted me to it in the first place. I have tried looking on ebay and google but I can't seem to find anything that resembles this which makes me think it would be a top end item and fairly rare. Please have a look at the pictures and feel free to ask any questions. Would look lovely as a display piece. The cotton case is a bit stained due to its age but this is a beautiful item.

Hello. Here is a nice condition Sharpe's Scottie 9ft Cane Spinning Rod. Been re Whipped and re varnished. Rings look like Agatine inners. Rod finished to a nice standard. The 12 pictures show the TRUE condition. A slight bend in the cane but only very minute. Cracks on the rubber button and Corks sound but need a clean up. Questions answered. VINTAGE GREENHEART SALMON FLY ROD 2 TOPS & SMALL TOP FOR SPINNING "LOVELY"
Here we have an old Vintage Greenheart salmon double handed fly rod. It is approx 12ft long when built and is a 2 section rod it does come with a spare top, it also has a short top for i think turning it into a spinning rod, it then measures approx 8ft 3 ins. All the whippings and eyes are very good for it's age as i think it will be over 100 years old going by the drop eyes on the small top section. On the 2 top sections the whippings have been reinforced with extra thread. if you have time have a peek at my other fishing items.
