Vintage St. Croix Corp. Fishing Machine. Circa 1976, Used: This used vintage collapsible all in one fishing rod and reel is in very good condition. It was manufactured by St. Croix Corp, Minneapolis, MN. It has both a U.S. Patent# 3,730,455 and a Canadian Patent# 984,605. The U.S. Patent dates back to 1974 and the Fishing Machine has a 1976 date on it. This Fishing Machine features 4 collapsible rod extensions, a built in reel, a less or more drag adjustment and an off/on range finder. Collapsed, this rod and reel measures just over 15” and extended it measures 60 ½” This unit is in very good condition. The fishing spool holder has a ding on it and some of the black paint is chipped off. The reel works well and the condition of every other part is excellent. We have not cleaned or refurbished this item in any way, as we leave those decisions ... moreup to the eventual buyer. You are bidding on two Vintage St. Croix Collapsible Fishing Rods And Reels With Cases(Fishing Machine) On one of the rods and reels the push button stays in the cast release position and thus when reeling. The head won’t turn to retrieve the line. The drag knob adjusts fine and the handle turns freely, it just won’t retrieve as it won’t come out of the cast release position. On top of the reel is a range finder with an"on" and"off" settings slide. It seems to operate but I am unsure of its purpose. The other fishing machine seems to work almost properly, but I feel needs some cleaning and lubrication. Although the cast release button works, it seems to slowly migrate back to the retrieve position before cranking the handle. The reeling mechanism works fine, but you have to have the drag adjusted pretty tight to have the ... morehead turn and retrieve the line. This is why I feel it needs some cleaning and lubrication. Also, the range finder switch on this machine is stuck in the on position and will not move freely like on the other machine. Both machines are in decent appearance with some scratches and rubs to the silver finish at the base of the rod, but nothing out of the ordinary for rods of this vintage. The expandable rods on both machines work great and the guides are in very nice condition. Please see pics as they are part of the description. Please email me if you have any questions. Included are: pole with reel, the original flier for the case, instructions for the rig, and original warranty registration card. Pole telescopes to about 4 1/2 feet. VTG St Croix Portable Collapsible "Fishing Machine" Fishing Pole/Rod/Reel
This is a vintage St Croix Collapsible fishing machine. It is portable and when all broken down is only 15 1/4" When it is extended it is a 5' fishing pole with a push button reel. All of the eyes are there. There are a few scratches from use over the years. It does have a range finder, I have not used that part just tested in home so I cannot say how it works, but everything else is working good. It does have a built in drag in the reel. Great gift for the hiker that likes to fish also. Please see all the pictures to judge the condition for yourself and email me if you have any question or would like any other pictures. Neat Vintage St. Croix FISHING MACHINE Compact Folding Rod & Reel c. 1977
Up for sale is this super-neat vintage St. Croix collapsing fishing rod with built-in reel. I believe it dates to 1976 or'77. The"Fishing Machine" measures just over 15" in length but extends to 5 feet. The pole seems very sturdy and stable once extended. It has a Range Finder and I don't know how that works, so I haven't tested it; however the indicator moves smoothly, and I would guess it's in working condition. It will definitely need new line, but that's not a big deal. There are a few small scuffs, but overall it's in very nice cosmetic condition. This VERY neat telescoping VTG ST CROIX FISHING ROD AND TRAVEL POUCH is in amazing condition for being made in 1976. The fishing ROD is five feet long retracts to 15.25" to fit into travel pouch. Also. Original instruction booklet comes with this set. This set has been well cared for and shows no signs of use. Pouch measures 18" L x 7.5" H, not including handle.
