Garcia Conolon. Initially established as NARMCO, Conolon developed the early technology of the hollow fiberglass rod. Later owned by Garcia. An American company named NARMCO invented the first hollow fiberglass fishing rod blanks in 1946. Dr. Glenn Havens. Head of research for NARMCO, is credited for the invention. Though fibers made of glass can be traced back to the 1890s, Owens-Corning is credited for the invention of fiberglass in 1938. NARMCO was a WW 2 weapons manufacturing plant that used fiberglass in some of their parts. Their name was an acronym for the National Armament Company. NARMCO became the Narmco Conolon Company at their factory in Santa Ana. California and fishing rod production began in 1947. Vintage 1960s-early 1970s era Garcia 2691T spinning rod. Long two-handed grip handle. Appears to be intended as a light saltwater surf spinning or surf casting rod. But it would also work well as a freshwater lake trolling or casting rod. This rod appears to me to be in new or near-new condition- the only sign of wear that I find is some ink residue on the cork grip, most likely from an invoice that was wrapped around it. Otherwise in bright new old stock condition.

New info: In a flyrodder forum on Garcia/ Conolons. This rod was probably made between 1962& 1964. Also there are more photos. Under the rod label. Garcia Conolon and 3 blue stars is the model number, 2637; then"8 ft. dry fly action; use D HCH HCF" Very close to excellent condition. The cork is clean. Like new. The reel seat shows little, if any wear, such as expected scratches. It has brown windings which are also over the metal ferrules. 5 guides plus tip. I have not used it as I have a similar rod. It is a Garcia/ Conolon. 2685T, green with green windings, and no stars; maybe a later model( Anyone know anything about it? Shipped in pvc tube and rod wrapped in cloth.

Normally they are larger than this, which makes me think it may have been custom. I believe it is from the 1950's as it is the hollow fiberglass 2 pc rod. It looks as there was tape on the one end of the rod to attach the other end, but can come off easily, or the fishermen put it there because he has problems when casting it came apart? This Rod is from the beginning of the hollow fiberglass era. How many fiberglass rods have you seen with 2 tips. This was a Conolon Blank as all hollow Fiberglass Rods From the 50.S were. The Rod was marked Simon Streamaster which is a name I did not recognize but think it came from Oakland Simon Hardware store but not positive about that. The Rod is overall in very Good Condition and casts beautiful. I do see a little glue on cork at base of we're pole meets handle but that's the only bad I see. Lee Wulff Garcia Conolon 7' Model 2071 Fiberglass Fly Rod
For your consideration is a Lee Wulff Garcia Conolon Model 2071 7' 2 piece fiberglass. Fly rod weighing 3.2 oz and rated for AFTMA line weights 6/7. The rod casts best with. The new fly lines rated 5 or 6 weight. I personally like it with a DT6. You may prefer it. With a 5 weight. The rod was first offered by Garcia Conolon in 1973. A five star blank. And build with fly-fishing legend Lee Wulff's design input. The rod is in excellent condition. With only slight soiling(no ridging) to the cork handle. Would clean up nicely if you should. Wish to do that. Personally, I would leave it as is. No original tube or sock included but I will. Provide a brand new satin anodized aluminum tube and rod sock from Landmark Components. Vintage Garcia Conolon 2pc spinning rod. 7' light action fast taper#2610T. Lightly used in great original condition. These rods were sold in the mid 1960's and this is a nice example, ready to head to lake, pond, or stream. To be period correct, I'd add a Garcia Mitchell 300 reel as well. There are usually a few here on eBay for a song. As with all my rods, I only ship USPS priority mail, typically in a day or two after payment by Paypal only. No returns.

Garcia Conolon Fiberglass Fly Rod 6/7wt 8' 2pc
You are bidding on a Garcia conolon 8 ft 2 peice fly fishing rod. Model 8237-D. Dry fly action. AFTMA 6& 7. This rod was originally olive green in color, but the factory paint has been removed to reveal the natural tobacco brown colored glass. The metal ferrule has been removed and replaced with a fiberglass spigot ferrule. The reel seat is a new, but vintage aluminum Varmac rusty brown in the down locking position. Fenwick style cork grip and black winding check. All new chrome snake guides and tip top. The rod casts a 6 or 7wt line and has'classic' full-flex fiberglass action. This is a really awesome rod and has not been fished since the restoration. Really beautiful! Questions welcome. No international shipments.

CONOLON"LIVE FIBER" F87 8' 6" Fiberglass Fly Rod This rod was a garage sale find and has been reconditioned. Details: The rod is tobacco brown in color. Blue wraps(which was the original color) new stripping guide, new snake guides and tip top, original blue winding winding check, new Fenwick style cork grip and new retro-style black aluminum reel seat. The rod is 8' 6" and during the refinish the brass ferrules were replaced with a black fiberglass spigot. The rod casts 6 or 7wt lines and has that full-flex. Classic, vintage fiberglass action. Vintage Lee Wulff 7021 7' 0" 3.2 oz fiberglass fly fishing rod, Garcia Conolon
This vintage Garcia-Conolon'Lee Wulff' model 2071 2/1#7(6) fiberglass fly rod was Made in USA in the early 1970's. It is all-original. With no damage or repairs. Also included is the original aluminum storage tube and green, 2-compartment storage sack. It is 7'0" when assembled. Factory-rated for#7 AFTMA lines. But also casts a DT6 line very nicely. I don't think the rod has ever been used. The cork handle is a round"Ritz-style" FYI: some Wulffs had a squared-off"quadrate" shaped grip. Chrome hook keeper. Stripping guide(about a size 8mm) and snake guides and tip-tip are beautiful as are the thread winidings and protective finish. These Lee Wulff series rods featured a unique stainless steel spigot ferrule. Labeling on the rod is perfect. This rod is an early model because it is labeled with a ... moreserial number- 25354(FYI: later models do not have serial numbers) This is probably the most desirable taper of the Wulff collection- especially from a modern trout fishing standpoint. This rod is simply a fantastic. Well-performing fishing tool. It has a sweet, pleasing medium action, and can handle a wide assortment of fly/leader setups: dry files, hopper/dropper, multiple wet flies, weighted nymphs or streamers; this rod can do it all. The item will be packaged very well. And shipped via USPS Priority Mail service, insured for the final bid amount. If you are a collector or fisherman. Either way you will be very pleased with this fly rod.
