Montague Somers Point Vintage Bamboo Split Boat Rod- Fishing- 2 Piece 67.5" Pre-owned In Good Condition This fishing rod has been previously used and shows some light signs of wear. The bamboo is in good condition.it is still flexible and does not have any cracks. There is a crack to the metal connect on the upper half of the rod. The connection is still securely attached. But has the crack shown in picture#7. The metal guide at the end of the rod has seen the finish wear off- picture#9. There are various nicks/paint transfer on different sections of the rod. Some of the nicks have removed small sections of clear coat. These are just minor cosmetic imperfections and do not affect the integrity of the rod. The Montague sticker is missing a small section. VINTAGE BAMBOO BOAT/CASTING FISHING ROD TWO PIECE - TONKIN CANE
You are bidding on a VINTAGE BAMBOO BOAT/CASTING FISHING ROD with old style(thick metal) double guides on the tip section and one tip guide. It has a nice handle and metal reel seat. There is nothing wrong mechanically that I can see. However the female ferrule and tip guide have been wrapped with what looks to be some kind of red tape(looks orange in the photos due to the flash) The female ferrule also looks to have been wrapped with a silver material(I would not call it tape but more of a decal looking type of material- looks white in photos due to flash but is silver in color) These wraps look nice and seem to be quite tight. The ferrule connection fits together nicely. It measures 5 feet and 6 inches long when assembled. The rubber end cap on the handle does not appear to be the original as it appears to be not as long as would the original. ... moreIt does show some scuffs or stains to affect the appearance somewhat, but a lot of this will clean up. On the side of the rod I can make out the words Tonkin Cane in cursive writing and a number that is M/ 97(can’t be sure of the 97, it might be 99 or some other combination) Pictures are part of the description. This auction is for a vintage Montague Stone Harbor bamboo fishing rod. The overall length of the two piece rod is about 66 1/2 inches. The metal tip is missing. But the rod is not broken.
