I have a vintage 9 ft. Kingfisher Split Bamboo Fly Fishing Rod. This 4 piece rod has a cork handle and has one extra tip. This vintage rod will need a little TLC or restoration. The main eyelet and windings is missing and another eyelet is broken and a couple of eyelets are rusty. The rod itself has a great patina and is in beautiful shape. Vintage Kingfisher 4-PC (2 tips) fly rod w bamboo tip holder 9ft
Early Kingfisher 4-PC fly rod with screw top bamboo holder for 2 rod tips. Rod is round not split bamboo but some kind of wood like lancewood greenheart etc. when 3-PC rod is put together measures 9ft. All 4 pieces are same length and all guides. Tips and ferrules are intact. The only issue with this rod is thread, all guides and ferrule threads are intact and tight it is the colored decorative threads that have issues, some are missing and some are coming apart. Otherwise the overall condition of this rod is very good. Very nice collectible piece.

Up for auction here is a vintage 3-piece 8 1/2-foot split bamboo fly rod marked KINGFISHER on the reel seat. A tag that came with the rod claimed it was made by Heddon but I cannot confirm this. All eyes are present and all windings match and appear to be original. Each section is about 35 inches long. There is only slight warping in the rod– it would display well but is in very good condition and suitable for use. The rod will ship by Priority Mail as a 2-pound package. Vintage Kingfisher Bamboo Fishin Fishing Rod 8 1/2 ft Nickel Reel Mount STURDY!
KingFisher VINTAGE 8-1/2' long Bamboo 2-Piece Fishing Rod Offered is a neat old Bamboo Fishing rod. It says Kingfisher. Engraved on the nickel reel mount. Measures 8 1/2 feet. The handle section measures approximately 29-1/4" long. The last section measures approximately 74" long and has a partial KingFisher decal still in place. Combined length is about 102" or 8.5 feet long. The overall condition appears to be good. What looks like the original end eye loop is firmly in place. The other middle eye loops appear to be missing but would probably be easy to replace. Exact shipping charges will apply based upon zip code destination. The rigid mailing tube measures about 3" wide and 78" long and weighs about 4 pounds. No handling charges. Shipped via USPS standard economy shipping.

Refinished Vintage Kingfisher Marvel #110 Bamboo Fly Rod all new components
This is a rebuilt Kingfisher Marvel#110 Bamboo Fly rod. I refinished it and used it one trip to the Henry's Fork River in Idaho. It threw a modern 5 wt fly line well and caught a couple of small cut throat. It has an agate stripping guide and wood reel seat. I used metallic thread to give it a more modern look. I triple hand dipped it in urethane spar varnish. This only the second bamboo I have rebuilt. But it looks really good!

For Auction: Vintage split bamboo fly rod"Kingfisher" manufactured by Montague approximately in the 1930's-1940's. This is a 9 foot long rod. 3 sections equal at 36 inches each with all original ferules reel seat and metal fittings, except for the new(old stock) Perfection guides. This used rod has been completely restored and refinished and is in good fishable condition. The bamboo or cane is sound on this rod. I wrapped the guides and hook-keeper in two shades of blue and it looks really sharp. The two Montague male ferrules show wear and tarnish but work just fine. The female ferrules are clean with little oxidation. There is some wear and oxidation on the"Kingfisher" reel seat. But the logo, etched into the metal is clear. It is a sliding band reel seat in good condition.I made a new cork handle with high quality ... morecork for the rod since the original cork was rough. It is a nice looking, attractive rod. When I restore or refinish a rod. I use a very light amount of varnish. The rod has a great looking brown patina. Vintage Kingfisher Bamboo Fly Rod 8'6"
This is a vintage 8'6" Bamboo fly rod in a very unique wood case. It is in excellent condition and has both tips. When assembled. It is straight, and has no bends or curves. All the eyes and windings are intact and the varnish is perfect. The case is the best part, being milled and inletted to accept all the sections, with a leather cap to keep everything in place. One of the tips is 4" shorter making the rod 8'2" long. It is not a breakoff, as the guides are all there, and evenly spaced. The cork handle, where it meets the rod, shows some wear.

The butt and one of the tip sections have been refinished with extra guides added, which helps the rod cast better. The original tip section has only 3 guides and has a moderate set. I believe this rod is a Kingfisher, made for the Edward Tryon Company by Union Hardware as evidenced by the tattered Kingfisher bag that was found with the rod, the swelled butt, and the distinctive bottle shaped rolled welt ferrules. Note the flamed cane. I replaced the cracked ferrule on the original tip with a Montague ferrule(see photo) and it fits adequately, disjointing with a soft pop.
