Vintage 5 Piece Bamboo Spin/fly Combo rod in Wooden box/Japan/Valiant/Clean!
A neat old 5 piece bamboo fishing rod. Made in Japan, for the collector or fishing enthusiast. Brand on the rod is Valiant. Nice label with mount Fuji I believe. 8 ft. rod when put together. Fly rod has two tips and a third tip for spin fishing. Box is dirty and the Valiant label is mostly gone. Hinges need to be nailed back on the back side. The clasp on the front side still in place and keep it closed. Top or lid of the box doubles as a tackle and fly box. The original bobber, hand line, and three flies are still in place. The bobber is sealed and marked Valiant also. One winding is coming undone near the cork. All other thread windings look good and solid. All the tips are present and correct. Ebisu Brand Vintage Bamboo Fly Fishing - Spin Six Piece Combo Rod
This is a vintage(est. 1940's) Ebisu Brand Fly Fishing/ Spin Reel combo with wood box. Flies, lure and bobbers. There are six pieces to the fishing rod, the handle is made of cork and measures 10.5" the extension piece measures 23.5" and the 3rd piece for the flyrod, the spin tip, and both fly tips measure 33" all of the pieces are in very good condition and look as if they have barely been used. This rod comes with two matching tips that are both designed and made for this rod. It also comes in the original rod sock and rod tube. This rod has been used however it is in very good condition. There are a few minor scratches but overall it is in excellent condition. The cork grip isn’t even that dirty. See images for more detail. 1950s Mayflower Bamboo Fishing Rod Made in Japan Spin / Fly Fishing w Wood Case
For sale at a buy it now fixed price is this early 1950s vintage rod made in Japan. It is a 5 piece bamboo fly/spin fishing combo rod. You reverse the grip section to fish it as a fly fishing rod. As a two piece spinning rod it is a 5'4" rod. As a three piece fly fishing rod it is 8 feet long. There are two fly fishing tips. The line size for which it is balanced is unmarked but it throws a 6 weight line pretty comfortably. As a spinning rod I think you would want to keep the mono at 8 pounds or less. There originally was a logo but most of that has worn off. Still.it is readily identifiable as a Mayflower brand. It has an early ring style hook keeper. It comes with the usual latched wooden box. Condition is used but in good condition. One of the fly rod tip tops is missing(easily replaced.just glued on) Otherwise all of the eyes ... moreand the reel seat is good. All pieces have the original length so nothing is broken. Some of the wraps are worn and deteriorating but are there. The wooden case is in very good condition for one of these.with nothing broken and no damage that we see. vintage bamboo fly / spin rod, Penzon ET Michel , 6 ft 2 inch, French made
Vintage Bamboo fly/ spin rod. Made by Penson ET Michel, French made 2 piece rod, 6 ft 2 inchs, bottom 31 inch and tip 43 inchs( made that way) 11 1/2 inch combination cork reel seat. And handle with slide bands. Butt section has a removable rubber end, 1 large guide on butt section and 4 guides and a tip top on tip section, blued ferrules fit nice and tight with a ferrule plug in the female end. The bamboo sections are in good condition with no problems and the green wraps and red and green tippings are all in great condition with no problems. The but section has this serial# 3036186 below the hook keeper. The black script on the butt section is all in great condition and of course is in French so I have no Idea what it means reads 2TGielgyon ek, Gelebolic. BB2, 3if, J-83, comes with original bag with bamboo rod in bag for support, lable ... morereads Penzon et Michel, Telebolic, Paris Ambrose. The varnish finish of the rod looks new.
