Offering a super Fenwick Feralite. Model FF85, 8-1/2 ft, 2 pc, 3-3/4 oz. fiberglass fly rod with the original aluminum carrying case. The cloth case is gone. The rod is in exceptional shape. The eyes have no damage and the wrapping is in great shape. The cork handle has never had a hook in it and is damage free. The feral attaches well and holds nicely. The action is live. The line rating tag is still on the rod but I couldn't upload enough pictures to show everything. My guess is made in very late 50's or early 60's. Defininely before mid 1963 as that was the year the 5 digit zip code came out and Fenwick's address doesn't have that.only Long Beach 4, California. Considering that, this rod is at least 50 years old but looks like it was manufactured last week except the line rating tag is slightly loose and needs regluing ... moreon the top edge. That's not bad for a 50 year old rod. There is a dent or two in the aluminum case as can be seen in picture 11. The serviceability is in no way impaired. Feralite had not yet been patented when this rod was made as it says patent pending behind the word Feralite. Serial number is C 16723. Exceptional piece but I am downsizing and can't tramp the streams as I once did so here's a nice opportunity to own agreat rod. Low start. Up for auction is this Rare Vintage Glow Stick Fenwick Feralite FF85-3. Three piece fly rod with the original cloth bag and metal tube. Writing on rod reads- Fenwick Feralite, FF85-3, 8 1/2ft, 3 3/4oz. Serial number under the Eagle logo is- C15583. This is the old glow stick thin wall blanks. The rod has some condition issues as seen in pictures, sadly to say at the first feral, it looks like it was crushed or stepped on, you might be able to do a wrapping of some kind and there is nick at the end of rod, I hope someone has the ability to repair this rare rod. The plastic tube has a 1"x3/8" chunk missing midway on a corner.Is cracked with hairlines extending from that point and it does compromise the integrity of the tube. The hinge for the cap is broken.But the cap snaps tightly to the tube.There is no sock. The rod and tube will be well wrapped to ship and secure in a pvc tube.

ALL THE EYELETS AND WRAPS LOOK AWESOME I SEE NO DAMAGE ON FIBERGLASS OF ROD. IF THIS ROD WAS USED IT COULD NOT HAVE BEEN TO MANY TIMES. Fenwick FF85 Fly Rod 8.5' 4-1/8 ounce- 2 Piece in Excellent Condition 7-8 wt This rod is sweet! Excellent for the age. I would date this rod to the late 1960s or 1970s. Windings are great and condition of fiberglass is almost like it was new. I have owned this rod for about 15 years and only fished it about two times- not because it isn't a great rod but because it is a little heavier than what I needed for Trout. This would be great for fishing and is in collector condition. I do not have the original rod sack and tube but will ship in a sturdy container and will try and find a cloth bag for it. You won't be disappointed!

Vintage 1963-64 Fenwick Feralite FF85 Fishing Fly Rod w/ Sock& Metal Tube Case. In pristine unused condition. This is a 8.5 Ft 3 3/4" vintage rod with no signs of use or repairs. Cork handle is in clean condition as well as the butt. Each eye is like new perfectly round with no corrosion. The rod is marked(Fenwick Feralite D 56894 FF85 8 1/2' 3 3/4 oz& is perfectly straight. The serial number(D56894) dates this rod circa 1963-64. Not even a scratch on this piece. Comes with the original cloth sock& metal tube. The sock has the Fenwick tag& the tube has the original Fenwick sticker with the matching rod model number. A very nice vintage piece for your collection.
