Description South Bend Bamboo Fly Rod#290 7 1/2 Foot with Original Tube Bag Vintage 1948 This is a 2 piece South Bend Bamboo Fly Fishing Rod. All pieces and the original bag are in great condition. The reel has some spots of rust or tarnish. The original guides and ferrules appear that are intact to be in great shape as well as the wraps. It does look as if there are a couple ferrules missing from the rod near the yellow tag. One tip has a slight curve. The cork is dark and light in color and is in pretty good condition with a few small dings or gouges. The silver tag on the cork is worn and not legible anymore. All pieces are the correct length and are straight with no rod set. The ferule is tight and pops when tip is removed. All guides and wraps are in very good condition. The reel seat is in very good condition and has a reel foot impression in the cork. The rod is marked: Orvis Custom Impregnated 5' 4WT 1 3/4oz. I believe the rod was assembled by a well-known rod maker in Wisconsin who did a great job in making the rod. The rod includes a green rod sack and a black and brass rod tube. Vintage bamboo fly rod. Metal reel seat is marked"F. E. Thomas Special. Bangor, Me. Maine) Butt is also marked"A 470. Rod measures about 8 1/2 feet long. Two tip sections are included. One is darker than the other and about an inch or less longer than the other. This darker tip section is also a bit less in diameter than the other sections. Sighting down the tips they appear fairly straight, with slight bends. Rod is pretty clean and may have been restored and or refinished at one time. It appears to be pretty fishable. Up for auction are two vintage bamboo Montague fishing rods. Both are obviously used and may need some repair and cleaning. One pole has a broken eyelet in the middle; one pole is missing its rubber butt. The reel seats seem to be functional. Both poles have a certain level of warping to them. Up for Auction is a Vintage Montague? Split Bamboo Shore Bait Cating Fishing Rod 6 Foot 4 1/2 inch. I am unable to find any markings. But looks very similar to the other Montague Rod i am selling I am not a collector or a fisherman so i dont know a lot about the Fishing rods. However i believe that the base of the handle is missing a rounded endcap piece that may have said montague as it looks like another rod that i have listed that has that rounded endcap piece attached. The base piece measures 43" the Tip piece measures just short of 35" and weighs in at 12 oz.I am selling the rod as a restoration or collectors piece but it does look ready to use. VINTAGE 9 FOOT 6 SPLIT BAMBOO FLY ROD This is a vintage split bamboo fly rod. There is no brand name that I can see. The rod is 9'6" from end to end and is a 3 piece rod with an extra tip. The eyes are tight and the cork is good. The rod looks to have been refinished. There is one eye that has been rewrapped and I assume a tip top replaced as the two don.T match. Vintage 3-Piece 8 1/2-Foot KINGFISHER Split Bamboo Fly Rod
Up for auction here is a vintage 3-piece 8 1/2-foot split bamboo fly rod marked KINGFISHER on the reel seat. A tag that came with the rod claimed it was made by Heddon but I cannot confirm this. All eyes are present and all windings match and appear to be original. Each section is about 35 inches long. There is only slight warping in the rod– it would display well but is in very good condition and suitable for use. The rod will ship by Priority Mail as a 2-pound package. Orvis Vintage Bamboo Rod Ex Condition 9 1/2 Foot 3/2
You are bidding on a rare Orvis vintage bamboo fly rod made in the early 1900's. The rod is 9 1/2 feet long. Weighs 5 ounces and comes with 2 tips. The rod is in mint collectors condition. Vintage Montague Redwing 8 1/2 Foot Bamboo Fly Rod
Montague Redwing 8 1/2 foot split bamboo fly rod. In the original case no sleeve. This rod could use your help. It is an estate find that was apparently put away wet. The sleeve rotted and this is what we have. One tip section is a fraction short is split and has been re tipped. The reel seat has corrosion and is split and a guide is off. That is the worst of it. The rest looks OK and restorable.

VINTAGE PHILLIPSON PACEMAKER 58 BAMBOO FISHING ROD 8 1/2 FOOT
For sale is a fabulous vintage fly fishing rod. A Phillipson Pacemaker 58. It is in its original cloth case with 2 tips. One of the tips is slightly stiffer than the other. One tip has a slight fishing set. The wraps appear to be all original and in good condition and even the tip top is good. The down locking reel seat is black plastic and there is a little wear in the cork handle where the hooks were set. There are snake guides. Assembled this is an 8 1/2 foot long rod. This is a rod that is just waiting for you. We are not experts but this rod appears to be in good condition. There are a few bruises in the finish. It is in as found condition and the ferrules are a little loose for my taste and could be replaced. Please look carefully at the pictures as they are part of the description. HEDDON #14 THOROBRED - 8 1/2 FOOT SPLIT BAMBOO FLY ROD
HEDDON#14 THOROBRED- 8 1/2 FOOT SPLIT BAMBOO FLY ROD Vintage(circa 1952) Lightly Used, Nice Looking! This vintage Heddon rod is marked as a Thorobred model#14 and is 8 1/2 ft long. Other markings include"2f" And"H or H or E" Research indicates the rod to be circa 1952, about the time I remember my Dad purchasing it. In addition the Heddon name is written on a single face of the rod and the Patent Number on the reel seat is#1807078(should be#1870078- a whole story in itself) My Dad enjoyed this rod, though not as often as he would have liked, until his death in 1988 and it has been carefully stored since. The rod is in quite nice condition. It has never been broken and all 4 sections(includes a spare tip) are an equal length of 34 1/2 inches. The finish is smooth with no cracks and shows only very minimal wear. The Cork ... morehandle shows only slight wear with no gouges and no missing chunks. The plastic reel seat is not cracked, threads are intact and there is no corrosion on any of the metal parts. All the eyelets are there but a few of the windings had loose ends and 3 needed rewinding. I had this work done and all the windings re-varnished- everything looks very good now. A fabric storage bag, though not original nor pictured, is included. The rod connections are all clean and straight. With no corrosion and seem to be correctly sized. I have only partially inserted them as a test and they felt just fine. However, I have not fully inserted them and leave that as a test for the new owner. This is a beautiful rod whether adorning your wall or glistening in the sun as you fish your favorite stream. Shipping for all 50 of the U.S. States will be a flat sum of $15. There is some minor wear to the handle(See photos) The eyes are all firm. The previous owner replaced one of the tips at some time.
