Here is a old vintage steel fly fishing rod. Marked"Bristol" on the reel seat. There are 4 sections total and 3 of the sections extend out and self-store in each other. Lenght when closed is about 40 inches. The overall extended length is about 107 inchs(almost 9 feet) All 4 of the line guides are good(maybe some minor bends) The base section is 6 sided(hexagon) The cork on the handle is damaged quite a bit. Marked: Union Hardware VIM. extruded steel rod. It is hollow. Extruded as one piece of molten steel and you will notice the taper in the rod as you run your finger along the length.you can feel where it steps down in size as you go toward the tip. Times are tough and kills me to let this one go! I have a large collection of vintage fishing gear that I have been selling of on a daily basis. This rod is about as clean as it gets and has been a prized piece for years. This is a good one! I purchased this rod many years ago for my Father. Sadly. He never had a chance to use it so I added it to my collection. It has never been used! The only time it had a reel on it was while I had it hanging on the wall. It is made from tubular steel and it is extremely light. It comes with the original tube and sock. There are only a few small scuffs on a ferrule. The rod measures 95 inches long(7 feet 11 inches) when assembled. The line guides all appear to be present and are in very good condition. The cork on the handle looks good. Included is a cloth(unmarked) rod sleeve but the handle section does stick out about 2 inches beyond the sleeve end. Note that the handle section is longer than the tip. The rod has a gold finish and is marked in raised lettering with the company name on the reel attachment area of the handle. The ferrule works well with a pop when the rod is disassembled. You are bidding on a vintage early 1900's union hardware Samson steel fly fishing rod. It is in good condition for its age and you can fish with it. The reel works but it does not click anymore. It extends out over 7 foot measured from the front of the handle. The loops on each section are made of brass. The rod is surprisingly light with great action. Vintage Black 4 Piece Young of Harrow Otter Steel Rod w/Cork Handle Rubber Tip. This 7 ft 4 section fly/casting rod is black steel with rubber button on the end and cork handle is 11 3/8" long. The reel seat has been stamped Otter Steel Rod Pat. April 02. 07. This antique has red agate eye and a tunnel guide on the first section and ferrules are good with a tight fit at 35" long. The next section is 20" long and has like a double metal eye. Some of the black paint has chipped or wore off. There are spots of rust showing please check the photos. The last section the tip is 20" long with a again double steel eye and an red agate tip. Even with the rust this is a very nice rod in good condition fully intact.

Research.and many viewed photos makes me believe that this is a'Bristlol' manufactured three section seamed steel flyrod.manufactured prior to 1910.it is not stamped with any identifying marks.although someone stated somewhere on-line that the very early ones were not.they also stated tbat the very early ones had a wooden knob on the handle end prior to the start of the cork. Which this one has.but i cannot find any solid confirmation of this.see pics.it is missing the bent metal finger hook from the handle.has pretty much no more shellac left on the rod, and has some worn spots on the cork.brass tubing connector furrels are intact, connector ports are not cracked and are tight, line guides.I believe are silver.are all great.even inner races of the guides.red in color aggate.are all great.see pics.enjoy the old vintage rod!

Up for sale is a vintage. 3 piece Armax fishing rod and JC Higgins reel. It is in nice used condition and measures just over 7' assembled. The rod is steel and brass construction, the slip joints are brass and the handle is wood. The rod is nice and straight and the original eyelets are intact and nice. Vintage Lot of 3 Fishing Poles Rods Retractable Steel Fly Rod Cane Pole. These rods are all in good vintage condition. Some of the poles have a few marks and rust on them from previous use. The first fishing pole pictured extends to be much long. It says on it"Bristol" Model 9 on it. It measures 39 1/4" from one end to the other when it is not extended. The next item pictured is a cane pole. There is three sections to it. No names or markings on it either. The three sections measure 51 1/4" 48 1/2" and 48 1/4" long from one end to the other. The last fishing pole pictured has a reel on it. The reel says Minuteman 1810. The fishing pole comes apart in one spot to be smaller for storage. It measures 71" long from one end to the other.
