Near the handle there are two rubber stamps on the rod, one says"Granger Victory" the other says"Wright& McGill" The metal reel holder part of the handle says"Made by Wright& McGill Rod Co Denver Colo USA" it also has two patent dates- Pat Apr 12 1938" and"Pat No 2114107. The aluminum tube says"CHAMIPON" MFD by CAL-AIR Products Los Angles" Inside the screw on cover there is stamped" CAL-AIR Products Co Los Angles" This rod is from the estate of a relative who died a long time ago. It has sat unused for decades. I don't know anything about fly fishing. I have tried to describe the rod carefully, I see no damage, no wear, no stains, etc. There is some oxidation on the silver metal, not rust, and there is some darkening of the cork handle from holding it, othewise to me it looks absolutely like new. Someone will be very LUCKY to own this rod.It has had a reel mounted on it but certainly not fished more than a few times. NO RESERVE AUCTION You are bidding on a beautiful used original Goodwin Granger Victory GV9050. Beautiful rod ready to fish. This rod was produced sometime between 1935 and 1942. Nice rod. The rod casts a WF6 or DT6 fly line beautifully. All sections are equal length with exception to one tip that is short by 5.5 inches. Straight as an arrow, reel seat functions and is like new, ferrules are fantastic for their age. If you want a 9 footer to fish this is it. All the wraps look great. The cork looks and feels almost new, with some slight dirt from honest use. I tried to portray this in the pictures. Varnish is really nice. A couple small chips from use. This is one heck of a great looking rod and it is ready to fish as is. Replacement vintage aluminum tube(missing cap) and original cloth sack. Wright and McGill Granger Victory Bamboo Fly Rod- 9 feet
This auction is for a vintage bamboo Granger Victory fly rod. The picture shows 4 rod segments but this is a 3 piece rod. There a 2 of the same end pieces. One of the pieces is broken as seen in the pics. The other piece is in nice condition. All eyelets are intact. Even the ones in the broken piece. This will give you some extras. The other flaw on the rod is a split and warping in the bamboo near the cork handle. I am no expert but it looks repairable. I am also listing other vintage rods and will combine shipping to reduce shipping costs.

9' Wright McGill Granger Victory 9053 Bamboo Fly Rod 3/2 Recently Refurbished NR
This Wright McGill Granger Victory rod was recently stripped. Completely re-wrapped(in the correct orange& jasper silk thread) and five coats of varnish applied; it has only been fished twice since the refurb. The bamboo is in excellent condition with no issues. All hardware is original. The cork handle is in mint condition, as can be seen in the pictures. Comes with two tip sections, a polished chrome rod tube& rod sock(neither are original to the rod) This rod casts like a dream(as all good Grangers do) is made for a 7 or 8 weight fly line. Only two minor issues: 1) the reel seat is slightly dented where the reel foot presses against it. But this in no way affects the functionality of the reel seat, and is not visible when the reel is attached; and 2) the butt-to-mid section ferrules are a little loose. Note the extra tip piece is short. Comes with a very nice green cloth rod sock, appears to be original to this rod. Also furnished is the GV9050 Goodwin Granger Victory cardboard tube which is in very good shape however it is missing the screw cap. Please read carefully. I will try to describe the condition. First off this has been used. However, this rod is very straight when together, still appears to be fishable but has NOT been tested. Three of the four pieces appear to be in very nice shape, one tip has been broken, note male ferrule ... moreand snake guides on this short tip appear to be in good working order and will be usable on a suitable replacement. The reel seat has a few small flaws, dings, scratches and plus an odd attaching screw. All of the thread wraps appear to be original, they are tight and in very nice condition. Cork handle has signs of use with a few small scratches in the patina finish and a 1/4" chip near the reel seat. Please carefully inspect all of the pictures furnished, I hope they will help. I picked this up at an Estate Sale a few months back just as seen in photos along with a bunch of other fishing and camping gear. I regret to say. Granger Victory 7' 2-2 Cane Fly Rod for 4 Weight
Wright& McGill Granger 7' Victory model 7030. Two piece 3 oz Rod with extra tip. All sections are full length and in very good original condition. Ferrules fit well with one tip ferrule requiring a minor reset. Butt and the other tip ferrule are perfect. Windings and finish are in very good original condition. Grip is normally darkened from use with minimal hook digs, or ridging. Granger patented Nickel Silver reel seat is in good condition and mounts a reel solidly. It assembles to be a 9 foot rod. It is in great condition. You can use it or collect it. I have not thrown any line with it but it feels like a 4 or 5 weight to me. All four sections are their exact original length and nice and straight. No chips. Cracks, breaks, or repairs. The base section is 37-1/4 inches when the reel seat is threaded all the way back to take a fly reel. It is 36-1/2 inches long when threaded forward. Center section is exactly 36-1/2 inches. Both tip sections are also exactly 36-1/2 inches. Base section has one regular guide. Center section has 3 snake guides. Both tip sections each have 3 snake guides and their original tip tops. I am ... morenot an authority on fly rods but what I can tell you is that the rod measures 9 feet when assembled. This is measuring tip top to far end of the reel seat. I'm not sure where an official measurement stops on the base section? All the tip tops and guides are original as are their wrappings. Sockets and ferrules look great with no cracks. Rod is beautifully marked under it's original finish"Wright& McGill" and"Granger Victory" The reel seat screws forward to lock the reel and this works fine. Nice and smooth. Cork looks great with nice original patina. One tiny chip out of cork. Reel seat is marked with"Made By The Wright McGill Rod CO Denver COLO USA" and also marked with the patent date and number. This part is worn and hard to read but the day is 12 and the year is 1938. The only condition I would mention is that one rod tip has slightly better finish than the other. Vintage Goodwin Granger Victory Pre WWII 8' Fly Rod in Original Condition
First let me state that I am an avid fly fisherman. However. I am not an expert on vintage split bamboo rods, The rod is a Goodwin Granger Victory 3/2 in the desirable 8' length. It has a reverse half wells cork grip w/ a nickle silver up-locking reel seat patent pending. The silk threads are orange and black with black tipping. All sections are of the same length and are straight. I do not see any breaks and in my opinion the rod has never been repaired or refinished. The cloth and metal tube fit but may not be original to the rod. Please view the numerous pictures I posted as to the condition and I will reply as best I can to any questions you may have. I am starting the bidding at $100 with no reserve and no re-listing. If this rod does not sell, I will throw a 4 or 5 wt on it and fish with it next Spring.

Beautiful. Classic Wright McGill Granger Fly Rod, Victory, 91/2, 3/2, Full Length This rod is perfect for the traditional bass fisherman. I owned the rod for 30 years and never fished it(part of my personal collection) Rod was pre-owned when I acquired it. The fiber tube appears to be original. Rod bag is not. The varnish& wraps look like new. Maybe an old sprucing up of varnish prior to my ownership. Cork shows no soiling. I did not polish the reel seat as I decided to leave this handsome classic as original as I could.

1930's Goodwin Granger Victory Bamboo Fly Rod 8.5' GV8642 Ready to Fish
You are bidding on a fantastic Goodwin Granger Victory 8.5 ft. 4.5 oz. 3/2. 3 pieces with 2 tips. This rod was made sometime between 1933 and 1942 I believe and includes replacement rod cloth and aluminum tube in good condition, this rod would have originally come with a cardboard tube. The rod was apparently refinished by or for Hal Richards. The actual refinish looks pretty good, however, not exactly correct or identical to how it came from the factory. It was a great amateur effort. There is an extra snake guide apparently used as a hook keep near the signature. I would recommend removing that and touching up the finish with some varnish. The great news is that this is a nice looking Victory ready to fish. You can vaguely see the original print under the script that was added as part of the refinish. The additional writing may be successfully ... moreremoved to find the original script. The rod is full length with no structural problems. Everything just as it should be with nice popping ferrules. The rod casts a 4-5 weight DT modern fly line beautifully. All sections are equal length, straight as an arrow, reel seat functions and is like new(For being 80 years old) ferrules are great. If you want an inexpensive like new Granger to fish this is it. I can't say enough about this basically brand new rod, that is already 80 years old. It is now ready for another lifetime of fishing. Don't you want to be the guy on your fishing trip this year showing off what what an OLD Granger can do? This rod will be expertly packaged and shipped insured to your location. Immaculate Granger Victory 9050 Bamboo Fly Rod 3/2-Near Mint
Just in time for fall fly fishing. Or maybe filling a void in your rod collection, this Wright McGill era Granger Victory is in amazing condition. The butt of the rod is the only place there is any indication of use where there are a few scratches that have broken the surface of the varnish of this otherwise pristine rod. The bag has one water stain at the top but otherwise looks like it just came off the sewing machine. Tube is great condition with just a little of the blacking missing here and there and one tape mark that I saw. I think you would have to look hard to find a nicer one. I started to put the rod together, but the ferrules seemed a little tight, probably need polishing, so I decided not to mate the pieces. Here is a Granger Victory split bamboo fly rod. This fly rod has 4 sections which includes 2 tips. All 4 sections are just a hair over 34&1/2 inches in length. This rod is used but still in near excellent condition with some darkening of the cork but no big chips or gouges. Good solid guides and wraps with no visible broken threads, nice finish with very few marks. So rod is not perfect but certainly near excellent. This Fly rod is 8 1/2 ft put together weight is 4 1/2 oz. Victory Granger. On the tube No 8642 copyright 1930. The tube is good paper label is a little ruff. Original cloth two tips nothing missing. Vintage 1938 Granger Victory Bamboo Fly Fishing Rod. 4-Piece, 2-Tips, 8 1/2 Foot, Plus Tube. This Vintage Fly Rod was recently acquired at the estate sale of a keen fisherman. The set includes the 4 piece rod plus cloth bag and aluminum tube with screw top. The rod sections measure 34 3/4" 34 1/2" 34 1/2" and 34 1/4" respectively. The aluminum tube measures 52 3/8" The rod has the following details printed on the metal: PAT APR 12 1938 PAT NO. 2414.107 MADE BY GOODWIN GRANGER COMPANY DENVER" The rod is in good condition. There is some minor wear to the handle(See photos) The eyes are all firm. The previous owner replaced one of the tips at some time. Information clearly ink stamped on butt section says: Wright& McGill” GrangerVictory” Stamping on reel seat says: MADE BY WRIGHT& McGILL ROD CO. DENVER. COLO. USA Rod comes with all 4 sections. Also furnished is a cloth rod sack with hang tag loop and aluminum tube. Screw cap and label. Please read carefully. I will try to describe the condition. Rod is very straight when together. It is very solid and fishable, I used this rod on a few occasions last season, and must say it preformed wonderful. All of the ferrules have the correct signature witness marks and a distinct audible“POP” when breaking down. The cane on all four pieces are in very nice shape. All 4 sections are correct ... moreand equal length. The reel seat has a few very minute flaws. Reel seat mechanism is very smooth and secures the reel as intended. All thread wraps are tight and very well varnished. Cork handle is in exceptional condition.
