The rod is not bent or ding. It is a metal of some type. The handle is cork and is in fairly good condition with only a small area of slight damage. See the pictures. It measure 43 3/8" long closed and about 84" when extended out. It might go longer I do know. I did not force it. The handle is marked Bristol. I am selling alot of different items from my families' estate. I am trying to describe and explain everything the best I can. Some of the items I do not know much or anything about. The cork handle is undamaged and completely intact on#1. And there is a small cork piece missing on the handle of#2. One eyelet is missing on#1 as can be seen in picture#7 all eyes are intact on rod#2. On rod#1 there are some scratches where the rod was possibly scratched to show the copper. pic# 6) and can be easily seen on rod#2 on the top two sections. this is a luckie fishing rod it is convertible from a fly rod to a casting rod and it extends to almost 9 foot from my research I believe the guides are silver and the eyelets are agate but I cannot confirm this and I believe it was made in the very early 1900's everything works as it should the cork is complete and in great shape for 110 yrs old not rotted or falling apart very solid this rod is very long when extended

Vintage Nr Mint Bristol Steel Telescoping Fly Rod 108" w/Cloth 3 Copper Sections
For your consideration.This is a vintage,Ca 1930's Bristol Steel 108"39 1/2" closed)telescoping fly rod in near mint condition with original cloth cover with tag that has some issues with a 17" tear and one hole not shown.There are no bending problems and the 4 sections are slightly tight,but telescope perfectly.The top 3 sections appear to be copper(or at least copper clad.The lower section is painted in green.The eyelets are soldered into place and are nearly flawless except for one small(1/8" x 1/16" loss and retain their original shiny chrome surface.The cork handle is clean and flawless.This rod does not appear to have ever been fished and if it was,it was very seldom. The original cloth case is showing it's age with a 17" split and one area with some small holes(not pictured)The tag is still very ... morelegible with the Bristol name and instructions for care on the reverse side of the tag. The rod weighs in at 9 ozs. Vintage South Bend Telescoping Fly Fishing Rod...with Copper Colored Extensions.
Here is very nice old South Bend Telescoping Fly Fishing Rod. Sure looks to me like the extensions are made of copper but a magnet sticks to them. So.perhaps they are copper coated steel extensions? This rod is 39" long and extends out to over 7 feet 8 inches. The first(smallest dia) extension pulls all the way out and comes out of it's sheath but can be put back in easily. The other 2 extensions extend outward and stop.the way they should. Overall it's in excellent condition.the eyelets are all intact and are not crushed in any way. The cork is still in nice condition as well. What a great example of a vintage fishing rod. Still would work nicely for fishing or for display on your wall.

Nice lot of two copper vintage Bristol telescoping poles. One is about and inch longer then the other but they are the same besides that. They are about 38 inches long and extend to a little over 8 feet. I cleaned a spot on one with copper leaner to show how nice they clean up as seen in pic#4. They both fully extend but one is hard to extend and needs cleaning and maybe oiling to make it extend smoothly. The cork handles are nice and sound. Please see pictures for details. Other than minor damage to the cork grip this rod is in very good plus condition. The telescoping feature allows it to be set at any length you desire. Up to a fly rod length of 7'9" The butt section is painted brown and the two telescoping sections are copper plated steel. The handle section is detachable and can be reversed for either a casting or fly rod configuration. The shaft is hexagonal to mimic a bamboo rod. This is stamped only"Bristol" on the reel seat, which is a trademark of the Horton Company.

Classic Union Hardware 8'6" Steel Telescoping Fly Fishing Or Casting Rod
This vintage rod is in very good condition. The tip section slides a little to easily. Can be tightened with a light crimp at the joint, best left to the new owner. This three section rod can be used as a fly or casting rod, simply by reversing the grip and reel seat. The reel seat has an excellent decal.

This is an Rare Estate find! This is a vintage 1 pc steel collapsible/telescoping fly fishing pole with cork handle& a rare ABU Delta 5 reel. They both are in the shape I got them in out of an old shed at an auction. They will need to be cleaned and refinished. However they are in working order right now. The pole measures 44" while all the way in& is 8' 9" or 105" It looks like there is one eye missing in the center when it is all the open. The cork handle is damaged so it will need to be fixed. Overall it is in good condition but will in excellent condition after it is restored. Vintage telescoping fly rod Richardson Rod and Reel, Chicago reversible handle
This is a vintage steel telescoping rod by Richardson. The antique rod has a unique reversible handle which allows it to switch back and forth from a fly rod to a spinning rod! The rod is 9 feet long when extended. 40 inches when closed. Because the handle is removable, it can go down to a length of 31 inches. The rod is very old(probably 1920s, the latest they made this type was the 1940s) so there is wear. The metal surface on the largest section, where it was exposed, is rough and there is some rust on the eyes. The cork handle has dings, as noted above. This is a very unusual style rod and you won't see many like this.

Here is a old metal fishing pole. This is a early Telescoping fishing pole. This old metal fishing rod has a Cork Handle. The area where you put a fly reel has a slider piece that you can slide up on the reel foot. The metal or steel fishing rod is about 2 feet 3 inches long CLOSED. When you extend the old fishing rod. The length is just under 5 feet long. The line guides are made of some type of Red color plastic or glass. This old steel fishing rod is neat and in used condition. The old rod displays good for the cabin decor or fishing room. It's hard to find these old fishing rods with the cork handles. The rod part has no markings and used to be what looks like Black in color but has most of the paint worn. Still a great buy for a old fishing collectable. Bristol Telescoping Fly Rod - Metal Green and Brown
This is a vintage Bristol metal fly fishing rod. I don't know anything about fly rods but I would say that this is a show piece not a user. If you pull too far the first section will come out. The other section seems to stop where it should. The first and largest eye has been squeezed but it looks like it would still function. The secone to last eye slides up the rod section- but it looks like that is the way it is supposed to work- See photographs for detail. I picked it up at an antique store years ago and have not done anything with it. It is time for it to go to a new home- someone who will appreciate it. Old Japanese Tenkara Bamboo Fly Rod, Telescoping from Carved Bamboo Cane, 8' 10"
Old Japanese Tenkara telescopic bamboo fly rod. Or fishing pole. This fly rod has three bamboo sections that telescope out of the hollow center of a very nicely carved bamboo cane, or walking stick. The overall length of this rod and walking stick, with sections fully extended is 8 feet 10 inches(2.69 Meters) The length of the walking stick is 34 1/2 inches(87.5 cm) The knob of the cane is the bamboo root. The walking stick has a nice patina and is carved with a woman in traditional Japanese costume, a bird with tree branch and leaves, crosshatching and other decorative designs. The fly rod sections that extend from the walking stick are decorated with red circles. The following is noted on condition(see pictures) There are age cracks in the bamboo walking stick. The ferrule is missing from the tip of the cane, which would hold the fly rod ... moresections in the cane. The sections of the fly rod fit tightly in the next larger section as they are fully extended, except for the smallest end section- it can be fully removed from the next larger section in which it fits. Vintage Bristol, Telescoping Metal Fly Rod , 10 Feet, Strange Tip
I have listed a vintage Bristol Telescoping Metal Fly Rod which measures 10 feet when extended. Straight, no bends and. The cork is in fair condition considering the age, 4 3/4" long cork with signs of wear. The hexagon steel rod has some minor rust spots and consists of 4 sections(nothing major) All four stainless steel eyes are in very good condition( no bends, dents or detachments) The main butt section of the rod has a factory green paint. The extended portions of the rod have a copper colored cast to them. The company logo Bristol is where the reel attaches and the tip looks like an S.
