Vintage bamboo fly fishing rod. It features 3. 3 foot pieces, so all together it is 9 feet long. It comes with extra end tip piece. Label is model 3002 with jumping fish. All pieces equal length and the entire rod is in very good condition. Solid. No repairs or cracks, looks to be all original. Does look like it missing one string guide at the end of middle section. See last picture, I assume there should be a guide there. I am no expert on fly fishing equip. I bought this at estate sale. It has a cloth holding case with four sections to hold all 4 pieces plus hard case. Hard case is just fair.

Greetings! You are bidding on a rare. Vintage 4 piece bamboo fly rod from by JC Higgins, model 3049. The rod is 9 feet long. Includes the original cloth case. The case is a bit faded and has some discoloration at the top. The rod itself is in very good shape overall. The colors are nice and bright and the eyes and stickers still in place. Shows some very light use. The cork handle is still quite clean. A bit of scuffing on the bottom metal part of the handle. Vintage bamboo fly fishing rod. Includes original green cloth holder for rod and a metal(aluminum- I'm assuming) telescoping rod case. The three sections of rod measure: 36.5" with the handle) 37" middle section and 36.5" tip section. Manufacturer label reads.J.C. Higgins- image of fish jumping) then Sears Roebuck and Co. back in the days when America actually had manufacturing. Before it was shipped abroad. There is a number near the handle: 3001 There is a label: Genuine Tonkin Cane. This makes me curious. Tonkin, The Gulf of Tonkin? Vietnamese bamboo? The telescoping rod is 44" long. Anyway.
