In the reel seat, there is slight corrosion(see 4th pic) The approx 10-3/4" handle screws into the approx 51" rod. The rod has one"eye" missing(see last pic) This rod is in nice vintage condition.

A beautiful vintage rod in excellent condition. This rod is from Orchard Industries in Detroit. Michigan. The rod has seen very little use, if any and is complete and undamaged. Here is a very neat old vintage steel fishing rod. Marked"Action-Rod Orchard Industries Detroit Mich. on the reel seat. Length is about 54 1/2 inches. All 4 of the line guides are good and securely mounted. The 3 interior guides are bound nicely with factory wire. The base section rod itself is 3 sided. Triangular, very unusual, has some light rust on it. The handle appears to be bakelite. Is very colorful moroon and off-white banded color, and is in very nice sound condition, does have some paint on it and a small scrape. The metal handle butt cap is present and is marked"Bob Nicholas" Reel seat screw/threaded rod clamp is good I see no serious damage nor repairs. I took several photos so you judge the cosmetic condition from the photos. Some wear from handling and use but overall quite nice condition. I do not know how old ... moreit is but it is vintage. The handle on fishing rod I believe is called a pistol grip. The handle is made of a red or maroon colored either bakelite or plastic and the light gray I believe is plastic. Under the reel. Orchard Industries Action Rod - Metal Fishing Rod Vintage Antique Detroit
Up for auction is a Orchard Industries Action Rod Vintage metal fishing rod and red/white bakelite handle. Overall very nice shape for its age. Does show some wear from use. Rod length of 53" and the handle measures 10 3/4" Comes in the carry case(what I believe to be original) and wooden holder for the rod. No bends in the rod and the eyelets are straight. The handle is also in great shape with no cracks in the bakelite. There is some slight flaking on the left side of the handle where the reel would sit and there are two rips in the carry case as well as some bowing in the wood rod holder, show in the pictures. Collectible metal fishing rod was made by Orchard Industries in Detroit, Michigan. It measures 4'6" in total length. The handle can be disassembled from the rod and is cranberry and white in color. The rod itself is made entirely of metal and has four eyelets. The rod has a very slight bend and the handle shows surface wear including scratches and scuff marks from previous use. But otherwise is in very nice, pre-owned condition. A stunning display piece for any collection or great for testing out in the water this spring! The plastic resin and metal in the handle are also in great shape. The metal a slight patina, and some slight oxidation from moisture getting trapped under the reel. Vintage Orchard Industries Metal Fishing Action-Rod This Rare. Collectible metal fishing rod was made by Orchard Industries in Detroit, Michigan.Pat No. 1920966. The Bakelite handle can be disassembled from the rod and is cranberry and white in color. The rod itself is made entirely of metal and has four eyelets that are all straight and securely mounted. Considering the rods age. It does show some slight surface wear including scratches and scuff marks, but in general is in very good solid condition and fully functional. The fishing rod does come with a protective plastic cover and a cloth cover that protect the metal rod. The plastic cover has about a 6 inch crack on one side and a 2 inch crack on the other at the bottom base from normal wear throughout the years from inserting the rod. Vintage Action Rod Orchard Industries Detroit & Sterling Action-Rod Fishing
Three Vintage Fishing Rods: Two Action-Rod; All say: Action-Rod. Orchard Industries, Detroit 12 MICH. Pat. No. 1920966. Rods are in fair condition, you can see both show some corrosion, tarnishing, and rust. The end loop on the one rod is broken off and the other rod was unscrewed from the handle. The threads look ok and it does appear it can be screwed back in. The third rod says; STERLING" New Baltimore Mich. Pat. 1920966. Rod is in excellent condition. Actionglas Fly Fishing Rod Model 1970 7' Vintage Detroit Orchard 2 Piece
This is a vintage Actionglas two piece fly rod. Model 1970, 7' long. It is in good used condition. It does have some scuffs and scratches. It has one loose binding. The male end, see pictures. The cork has some damage to it. There are three chunks missing. Two where the reel was mounted and the very end. The reel holder moves freely on the cork. There is section of the cork that is loose on the rod. It is at the rod end of the cork and about 1" long. This is not a perfect example but still a nice collectible rod. What's so unusual about this Orchard rod is that it has a carrying case.It's from another rod/reel combo.but works very well with the orchard rod. The case. Rod, and reel are in excellent condition. Up for sale is a gorgeous rod and reel combo! The reel is a near mint. Beautiful, Brooklure no. 250 reel made by Bronson Reel Co. It works flawlessly, spins very smooth, has a strong click, and looks amazing with the stamped side plates and red jeweled end-caps. Hard reel to up-grade. The rod is an Orchard Industries with a beautiful green and white handle. The rod is in amazing condition. All the guides look like new and the steel rod is in outstanding condition. I tried very hard to show the condition of the rod guides in the pictures. This is an excellent combo that will really stand out in any collection.
