Here is a vintage 1982 FENWICK. CUSTOM, 2 PIECE, 5'6" SPINNING ROD in NEAR MINT condition. Made in USA by a master rod maker. This rod is rated for 1/16- 1/4 OZ. lures, 2-6 lb. line and weighs a mere 3 oz. There are 5 CERAMIC guides and a tip. The cork handle is clean and excellent and has SLIDING RINGS reel seat. This rod is from my personal collection. It looks as close to new as you can get for a 31 year old rod. This is TREMENDOUS trout rod and is as nice as they get. Vintage Fenwick Fly Rod Measures 81 1/4" with 6 Eyes Custom? Blank? Built Well
Here is a vintage used Fenwick blank fly rod that is in pretty good condition. This may have been custom made. All the eyes and threads as still intact. The cork looks to be in good condition and it looks that its been made pretty well. The rod itself when pieced together measures 81 1/4 inches in length. CUSTOM? Also there is a total of 8 eyes on the rod, 2 on the lower part and 6 on the 2nd piece or end of rod. They all look to be made really well, I would assume it was made in USA. I would date this rod back to somewhere around the early 1980s, but just my guess. The only minimal flaw to it, is that it when put together it appears there is a small(very minimal) bend to the 2nd piece. Looks like it perhaps been leaning up against a wall for a little while in storage. This is only minimal and when you look down the rod straight. Here is the one you have been waiting for. I took the best Fiberglass blanks. The best components, and combined them to make a rod that is an instant classic. This is a Fenwick SP812 F blank wrapped with dark rust colored thread, grade A cork handle, Vintage Varmac double locking reel seat, Fuji SIC guides, and a genuine Fenwick butt cap. No details were overlooked on this rod. It is beautiful and fully functional. If you are looking for a custom rod built on a vintage new old stock Fenwick blank, look no further. I do not have the specs on the SP812. I feels like a medium Light rod rated for 4-10# line and 1/8-1/2oz. lures. I may be off a bit, but I think I am pretty close. Vintage Custom Fenwick Woodstream Model SP812 Spinning Fishing Rod
You are bidding on a Vintage Custom Fenwick Woodstream Model SP812 Spinning Fishing Rod. The rod maker has labeled the rod with his name and address. This rod is functional and ready to fish just as it it. But does need some qualification in the description. Since this is a custom rod, I am not sure of the intended length, but when both sections are assembled, the rod measures 6 feet and 8” long. The tip section is about two inches shorter than the butt section, so the tip has been broken at one time and has had a new tip guide added. The other qualification is that the wrapping on the very end of the female ferrule on the tip section is starting to unwrap just a little. It is equipped with 7 ceramic line guides and wraps with a nice metal reel seat(some minor scratches) The rod shows some marks/stains, but nothing major in this category. ... moreThere is a small piece of cork missing from the bottom half of the cork near the tip(does not affect funtionality of the rod in any way) This rod is as described and ready to catch fish. You can take one look at the rod and know it is quality made and is in excellent condition. The handle is a Champion Feather weight pistol grip about 11" long and in excellent condition. Vintage Fenwick PB72 Custom Spinning Fishing Rod 10 - 20 Lb. Line - ESTATE
This is a VERY NICE Fenwick PB72 Custom Spinning Fishing Rod that would be great for the larger sized fish. Found this one in an estate and it looks like it has barely been used if at all. This is a beautiful rod with colors as shown and is of very high quality. This is a one piece rod that measures 6’5” long. Since it is custom. It does not say Fenwick on the rod so I am reading the label pinned to the sleeve from which this rod came(cloth sleeve as shown is included and also in excellent condition) Originally, I think this might have been a 7 foot rod, but since it is custom I have know way of knowing for sure as the tip guide and wrap matches the rest of the rod perfectly. Mechanically, it is in perfect shape with seven excellent guides and wraps, hook keeper, and a very nice reel seat(reel seat says Varmac L W 1) and foam handle. This rod has great action from that classic vintage Fenwick Feralite blank. It is hand made and the wrap job was done by an amateur but is a beautiful rod. The serial number is I36922. This rod was very lightly fished showing marks where the rod was put together and taken apart and a small chip in the top of the cork. I see a couple small blemishes in the finish and have too look very hard to find them and will point them out in the photos. I have Acquired a large purchase of Vintage Fishing Equipment. Vintage Phillipson & Fenwick 5'6" 1pc Custom Fiberglass Fly Rods
Up for sale are 2 unique rods. One that could use some care but could be a wonderful small stream tool. A one piece Fenwick FL72-6. However the rod actually measures 5'7" It does throw a#6 line but I like it way better with a#5. While this custom rod is very vintage. It includes very small eyelets. In all honesty I would strip it and start over with bigger guides and better spacing. Also the cork has wear. Still with love this could be a wonderful vintage yellow Fenwick. I own another 76-2 yellow Fenwick that is a 6' one piece that I wouldn't sell for the world. The other is a 1 PC Vintage Phillipson Fiberglass Custom 5'6" 5wt. An absolutely beautiful rod. 1 minor flaw. Missing end cap. Easily fixable. I can assure you though that this small rod throws line like a champ. Only used 2 times! The rod it's self is ... morea wonderful custom piece. Beautiful copper brown blank with copper metallic wraps and a red agate stripping guide. A fisher for sure. I loved using it on small wild brown trout streams. Trying to sell both rods as a lot deal. Not easy to find 1 PC rods of the vintage varieties. I'm being honest about the condition of the rods. They need just a little work so be aware but the are still hard to find and worth something. I hate to sell them but they just are not getting used. Even the plastic handle cap is unscuffed. Unmarred, or shows any sign of being used. All eyelets are perfect. All wrapping is tight and in like new condition. No mars of any kind on rod shaft. Total of five eyelets. Cork is very clean and appears unused. Shows bright where the reel clamps sat for years in the same spot. A bit of flair in the wrapping on the eyelet on the bottom section. Wrapped in rainbow colors. Measures 65" assembled. 34" bottom section. 34" top section. I am not a collector nor am I knowledgeable of fishing rods.
