NO RESERVE AUCTION You are bidding on a beautiful like new original Wright McGill Granger Aristocrat GA7633. 7 ½ foot, 3.75 oz. 3/2 bamboo fly rod. 3 pieces with 2 tips. Made between 1947 and 1952 and super rare especially in this condition. It looks as if it were only fished a few times. Includes original cloth sack in great condition and the original aluminum tube in really good condition. The rod casts a Cortland 4 weight DT Sylk fly line beautifully. I have this same rod that I fish with and it handles 4-5 lb fish easily. All sections are equal length. Straight as an arrow, reel seat functions and is like new, ferrules are perfect. If you want a 7 1/2 footer to fish or put in your collection buy it now cause it won’t last long. All the wraps look great. The cork looks really good with only some dirtiness from honest use. Varnish ... moreis really nice with only a couple minor flaws from use and starting to turn darker from age. This is one heck of a great looking rod and it is ready to fish as is. This rod. For those that don't know is positioned as an upper mid-grade rod and used bamboo that was not quite good enough for the Registered and Deluxe but better than the Special, and way better than the Victory or Champion. The 7 ½’ length makes for a great little rod on smaller spring creeks capable of handling fish up to 4-5 lbs. It's pretty light, impressive. Don't you want to be the guy on your fishing trip this year showing off what an OLD Granger can do? This rod will be expertly packaged and shipped insured to your location. I am an honest seller. And my goal is to put these rods and reels back on the rivers and streams to be used rather than collect dust. Vintage Split Bamboo Fishing Rod 9 foot 3 piece with extra tip
This is very old. Perhaps 100 years surely collectable. Considering its age it is in good condition. The windings are tight though one guide is missing. All four pieces are full length, never broken that I can see, with no splits or pieces coming unglued. The cork looks like it had been varnished at one time and where it has worn off the cork seems to be in good shape. I have not attempted to clean the rod as I know this may reduce its value if not done correctly. It was found in the attic of a relative some years ago and I have kept it protected in a tube for 40 years. Up for auction here is a vintage 3-piece 8 1/2-foot split bamboo fly rod marked KINGFISHER on the reel seat. A tag that came with the rod claimed it was made by Heddon but I cannot confirm this. All eyes are present and all windings match and appear to be original. Each section is about 35 inches long. There is only slight warping in the rod– it would display well but is in very good condition and suitable for use. The rod will ship by Priority Mail as a 2-pound package. Winner will pay actual cost of shipment from Pennsylvania. I will ship only within the 50 U. S. states.
