H&I Split Bamboo Fly Rod 3/1-8.5 ft 5 wt.
This is a Horrocks and Ibbotson split bamboo fly rod eight and a half foot long in three piece with a single tip that is in original condition. We bought with another group of rods and am selling it as is.The could have been lightly fish but looks in new condition.It has the full H&I decal and the model number# 6651 in script on a base section. Check the photos as this is what you get.

Heddon 9 ft split bamboo fly rod made in Michigan pre 1952. Excellent condition and all guides are intact. Also has extra tip. Original cloth cover is included. Fly rod was my grandfathers and has caught a lot of fish. Many many good fishing years still available with this rod. On Feb-16-13 at 21:17:47 PST. Seller added the following information: Edit: Several folks have asked about any writing above the cork handle. There are none. Either Heddon didn't write anything there or my grandfather wore it off from use. If Heddon didn't write anything there. Then it must have been from earliest days when they may not have. The cloth tag is fairly old as well. The wt and length are clearly seen, but it's hard to read the rest. I'll try to get a decent photo of the tag& post it Sunday. The brass ring that holds the reel has a patent ... morenumber stamped on it so I will get that as well, but it too is hard to read. That is all. On Feb-17-13 at 13:15:02 PST. Seller added the following information: Edit: More pics added today and the patent number on the rod is 1524052. Though the cloth tag is hard to read. After three people inspected it we came to the conclusion it looks like a model 10. Also on the bottom of the tag, the letter S appears as if it was inspected by someone who's name started with the letter S. My father told me that his father had bought the rod new prior to him graduating from H.S. in 1952.

This is a newly built two piece with single tip split bamboo fly rod seven and a half foot long in two weight. The rod is built from all premium components including a nickle silver cap and ring reelseat on a maple wood insert with a full well cork grip in"A" grade.We used all black line guides and tip top the stripper is stainless the hookeeper is silver ring type. The cane is finished with three coats of spar varnish and is wrapped in teal.We lawn cast the rod and suggest two or three weight line the action of this rod is slow almost parabolic and will be great to get a small fish on.

this vintage H& I Ike Walton 9 ft split bamboo rod has been striped and refinished with high quality spar varnish. the partial decal is minimally there. But can make out most printed"genuine Tonkin" and a bit of the red H& I. the signed"Ike Walton" in white script is in great condition. there may be couple early professional partial re-wraps on it, as the mid section high end snake guide looks slightly not original, and the mid low end guide is silver, not the dark steel as on the others, but the wrap looks original. the sections are all 36 1/2 in. cork clean and firm with small dig(see pic) the new cushion-cloth replacement rod sock in pics is included. assembled rod feels fine for casting. overall, a nice rod to use or display. please examine pics carefully and ask any questions before bidding. good luck and ... moregood fishing USA and CANADA bidders ONLY I am happy to combine shipping priority mail with delivery conformation is included insurance is your option. Here for auction is this Orvis Wes Jordan model. 8' 2 pc, 2 tip with original bag and tube, made in 1970. Sold through Gloria Jordan's rod shop to the name inked on the shaft(initials are professionally engraved on the butt cap see photo) and is inked Made by Wes Jordan and what the client was told by Gloria Jordan as well. The rod is in superior original condition with some soiling on the grip from handling and some incidental reel marks on the spacer. It just sparkles. From the photos one can easily see the rod was well taken care of and it is for a right handed caster. 1921 Winchester Split Bamboo Fly Rod #6042 with Heddon Aluminum Case 9 Ft. 3 Pcs
ITEM: A vintage Three Piece Winchester Bamboo Fishing Rod. It is marked on the back of the handle: Winchester Trade Mark Made in U.S.A. 6042" and the moveable ring for the reel seat is marked: Pat. Feb 1. 1921" Its overall length is 8' 11" SIZE: The sections measure 36 inches. 36 1/2 inches and the tip measures 35 1/2 inches in length. CONDTION: It was purchased exactly as pictured at an estate sale in this aluminum case marked Heddon's Dowagiac on its twist on cap. It is in excellent condition with no broken parts or missing eyelets. The ferrules. Eyelets and wrappings all appear to be in excellent condition. The reel seat shows some evidence of wear. The cork grip and reel seat are in fine condition as seen below. Note the cleaner grip and the reel seat looks near new. This rod is ALL-ORIGINAL and should be considered VERY RARE! Up for Auction is a Vintage Ellery Arms Co Split Bamboo Cane Fly Fishing Rod 3 Pc 2 Tips 9 FT with Rattan Handle Rare. I am not a collector or a fly fisherman so i dont know a lot about the fly rod. However the ellery arms co existed from 1908- 1933. Also it looks as if the company only built rods from about 1918 to the late 20's so the Rod is definately vintage. The base piece measures 37" the middle piece measures just short of 37" the middle and base piece don't slip together easily and one tip measures just short of 35" and the other measures 33" and weighs in at just under 7 pounds.I am selling the rod as a restoration or collectors piece. Beautiful Antique 8.5 Ft. Split Bamboo Fly Fishing Pole in Original Canvas Case
Offered is a very nice antique bamboo fly fishing pole. It seems to be in original. Excellent condition. It has a beautiful golden lacquered finish with red brown brown thread wrappings around the eyes. I cannot find a makers mark, but this looks to be finely made by a craftsman who knew his trade. The white cotton or cotton muslin/canvas case appears to the be original to the pole, and is marked at the end 8 1/2. The 3 separate pieces measure approx: 39, 38, and 28.5" This is a fresh estate find. I have another one listed in a different auction that was found with this one. Vintage Grampus Kiraku & Co. Split Bamboo 8 ft. Fly Rod, 6 In 1 Cast Bait Pole
From what I can tell after a little research this a 6 in 1 rod. You can have an ordinary 8 ft. fly rod. A 6 1/3 ft. fly rod, 8 ft. still rod, 6 1/3 ft. light trolling rod, 5 1/3 ft. bait casting rod, and 1 piece bait casting rod. This is all done by interchanging the different midsections/tips and by turning the handle around to switch from a casting/bait rod to a fly rod. All the parts look to be in good shape and straight. The large round guide in the fourth picture is a little loose and will slide back n forth slightly(this guide is on part of the bait casting/still rod/trolling set up) I believe. All the other guides are tight and the cork handle is in nice shape. My listing seems to come with more pieces than some of the others I've seen, so it's possible some may be extra pieces from an another Kiraku rod? But if you look at ... morethe knurled pattern in the metal where they connect all the parts match, as well as the patterns in the thread wrapping also match. No reserve auction. Rebuilt Vtg South Bend 164 HDH Cross Split Bamboo Fly Rod 5 wt 3/2 9 ft. Fishing
From an estate with a LOT of NEW OLD STOCK fishing stuff.reels and rods mostly. See my other items over the next couple of days. I will combine shipping to save you money. If you buy more than 1 item I will pack them up and refund the difference on shipping. This is a fantastic 1930's 9 foot South Bend bamboo fly rod with the original case. This custom built rod has 4 pieces. 2 tips. I am 90% certain that this is a rare model 164, double built, with D or HDH line recommended. In 1934 this rod retailed for a whopping $60. During the depression. That is over $1000 in today's dollars. It appears that it was rebuilt a while ago-as I know the person who fished this. And he did not fish much since the mid 1990's.so the rebuild is probably 20 years old. He was a very wealthy man, who only wanted the best, so I imagine he paid a pretty ... morepenny to have this rod redone. It does not look like it was fished much afterwards. The rod has a nice matte finish to it. Both end tips are the same length. The bamboo has wonderful grain(see close up) and the workmanship in the rebuild is wonderful.in fact I counted 100+ functional and ornamental wraps on it. The ferrules are nice and tight and give a good pop when released. In the rebuild. The info on the rod was lost. However you can make out much of it on the deteriorating label-the weight is either a 5 or 5.5.maybe even 5.8?it is hard for me to make out. Also, I can see 64 in the model number that is still visible, and the paper is still somewhat in tact after the 4, so I would assume this was the 164 fly rod. It does not appear that a 0 was in the model number after the 164. This rare double built rod is the grand-daddy of all South Bend fly rods. It is ready to enjoy and fish.

split bamboo rod I am offering a nice split bamboo fly rod in cloth sleeve and aluminum tube carrier. This is actually a 3 piece unit with an extra end included. The extra is minus the end eyelet. I put this together loosely to get an idea of the length. And it appears between 9-10 feet in length. It was over the guttering over my garage. Looks to be in good condition. I see a bit of discoloration rub of part of the cork, but other than that it sure looks like a good one to me. Cork is still in good shape otherwise as you can see and everything looks as it should be. The case shows typical wear and it appears the word CAST printed in red on it- not sure if it even came with this rod or not- but this is the way I found it. I cannot make out a maker on the tag, and I am just not sharp enough of fishing equip. to even give you a guess. Whatever ... moreit is, it is very nice and it will find a new home come Sunday night. Hi, You are looking at a Nice& Clean Vintage Heddon 8 1/2' Split Bamboo Fly Rod. Also. Included is the original bag as seen in pics. It appears it is marked#14 as only the top parts of the numbers are visible. Perhaps. It was refurbished/reconditioned at some point. We believe this one to be a"Thorobred. Take a look at pic. You be the judge. The lock-nut has a Patent Number engraved on it. Overall. The rod is in great shape: there are no cracks, or any other noteworthy wear. We measured the rod by overlapping the beveled connection points. We didn't put it together because the slip/connection points need to be re-lubed/refinished. It appears time has dried up the lube/area. Nonetheless. The rod would make a great addition to your collection or for use, it feels strong& has a nice surface sheen to it still. Antique ~ ORVIS IMPREGNATED ~ Split Bamboo Fly Rod ~ 8 1/2 ft. ~ w/ Tube + bag Up for auction is an antique split bamboo Orvis Impregnated fly rod. Comes with the aluminum tube and the storage bag. I do not know which model rod this is; it is marked"Orvis Impregnated. Patent Pending" Guaranteed old. Comes with 2 tips. The one tip is cracked. The other tip has an eye missing, but could use one off of the cracked tip to replace the missing one on the other. Everything else in very nice condition. Measures 8 1/2 feet long when put together. Vintage Shakespeare Split Bamboo Fly Rod- Fine Fishing Tackle 9 Ft. Au Sable No. A1363 Bass Weight- 3 piece rod with an extra tip. Original cloth storage bag and waxed cardboard tube with screw metal lid. Rod is in very good condition. It has 2 tips sections and while they seems to be the same flex one is ½” longer than the other. The longer tip appears to have been repaired on the end eyelet(see photo) The cork handle is in very good condition, the section of rod where the reel attaches is a plastic/composite material with a metal screw.

Rare very early 9 ft. Southbend 3/2 split bamboo fly rod
Here for your consideration is this very early and remarkably historic 9' 3/2 that was most likely built at Winchester while E. Billy Edwards was overseeing the rod operation there in 1920 or so. Cane tip case w/ brass cap& original bag all metal knurled reel seat, red intermediate& regular guides wraps throughout, half-wells grip, VG+ Exc. original varnish, truly amazing cond. bright and sparkling probably unused. So early even its stripping guide is a snake guide. Winchester supplied South Bend with rods into 1926. This rod was listed by Martin J. Keane in his catalog#83-2001. At that time he wasn't aware of the connection with Winchester. In fact inside the top of the bag are the numbers 5361 numbers were used by Winchester re branded Barney& Berry rods per Garner in his book also 7000 series rods were Armax and Barney& ... moreBerry rods(again per Gardner) so it would be reasonable to see how South Bend was given a 5000 series of rods to differentiate how the rods were finished. Ie What bamboo was acceptable to one company as a trade rod may not be so for another.

Vtg 1920's Shakespeare( Split Bamboo 3 Pc Fly Fishing Rod 8 1/2 Ft. Extra Tip. Item: Vintage circa 1920's Shakespeare( Split Bamboo 8 1/2 foot long 3-piece fly fishing rod with extra tip. Comes with(I believe original) green felt sleeve pouch and aluminum carrying tube. I cannot find any markings on the base piece. Felt pouch or tube so I am not 100% sure who the manufacturer is but was represented to me as a Shakespeare rod. Condition: Very good cosmetic condition with only very light wear and no cracks. Splits, etc that I can find and all pieces fit together nice and snugly. Here for auction is this South Bend 9' 3/2 Model 59 split bamboo fly fishing rod this model is a Bass Dry Fly so it's suited for large flies and bugs my guess is that it would take a 7 wt. line. It is all there nothing is broken or repaired. It comes in a bag and a LL. Bean zippered canvas rod case. This is a five day auction so don't drag your feet.

Here for auction is this Horrocks Ibbotson rod made for Frost& co. inc 18 Warren St New York. According to Michael Sinclair's restoration book it would be a Golden Rod grade as it's in the Registered line which was impregnated as well as varnished. The Golden Rod was 2 model's below the President which sold for $16.50 and the Golden Rod sold for $14.00 which was pretty expensive in the H&I line. It is all there fits together nicely and has a couple of replacement wraps which can be seen in the photos. This is a five day auction so don't drag your feet.

Vintage 1930s Montague Redwing 8.5 Ft Split Bamboo Fly Fishing Rod w/ Tube Case
Vintage Fly Fishing Rod This listing is for an old fly fishing rod. The rod is made of bamboo and splits into sections for storage and transportation. There are 3 sections that join together and I believe the rod is roughly 8.5 ft long when assembled. There are two identical sections for the end of the pole so that you have a backup in case something happens to one. The section with the handle is marked"Montague-Redwing" and"Taepke for Tackle 1931-39 Fenkell Avenue Detroit Mich" It is in very nice condition considering it's age. It comes with it's original cloth holder and metal tube for safe storage and transportation. I am not sure the exact age of this but it is definitely older. 1930s I believe. Edwards Quadrate split bamboo fly fishing rod 9 ft. 3/2 original bag and tube
Here for auction is this very nice Edwards 9 ft. quadrate split bamboo fly fishing rod with original bag and tube. This rod comes with the extended butt section. All the sections and the same length and the all fit together nicely and make a nice pop when taken apart. One of the tips has a invisible repair wrap( done by Edwards) and has some other wraps replaced as well. Yet it is completely functional. Please feel free to ask any questions.

8 ft. Heddon #10 Split Bamboo Fly Fishing Rod classic period circa 1935
Here for auction is this excellent condition Heddon split bamboo fly rod marked number 10 standard dry fly rod made for one year(1935) as the maroon with green tip wraps indicate from Sinclare's book. This rod was made before Heddon started its ferrule designation system. This rod fits together tightly and is straight as a arrow and comes in its original bag cloth bag and tube with the tag missing from the bag. I took it out in the deep snow and wind today the temperature was a wooping 4 degrees to try a five weight dry fly line and I have determined that is what it takes. Casting nice tight loops into the freezing wind. The rod weighs 5 oz. and would be considered a high mid grade rod for the period that it was made.
