2 ea Vintage. Split Bamboo Fly Rods, 3 piece, 8' 10" long and Cloth Case Top Rod with Green Reel seat. Has inscription on handle stating: Union Hardware Compan y Torrington. Conn USA Rod is 3 matched pieces and 8' 10" long. Windings and Ferrules are in good shape for th e rod' s age. The middle piece has red windings and the butt and tip section have green windings. The tip top is like new. Bottom Rod had a silver reel sea t and a tapered cork handle. As can be seen in the second from last picture. The sliding ring on the reel seat is split. Rod is 3 matched pieces and 8' 10" long. Windings and Ferrules are in good shape for th e rod' s age. The winding on all three piec es is gree n. Montague Somers Point Vintage Bamboo Split Boat Rod- Fishing- 2 Piece 67.5" Pre-owned In Good Condition This fishing rod has been previously used and shows some light signs of wear. The bamboo is in good condition.it is still flexible and does not have any cracks. There is a crack to the metal connect on the upper half of the rod. The connection is still securely attached. But has the crack shown in picture#7. The metal guide at the end of the rod has seen the finish wear off- picture#9. There are various nicks/paint transfer on different sections of the rod. Some of the nicks have removed small sections of clear coat. These are just minor cosmetic imperfections and do not affect the integrity of the rod. The Montague sticker is missing a small section. Vintage 2 Piece 5' 4" Split Bamboo, Aluminum Guard Fly Rod by "Erink."
Vintage 2 piece split cane fly rod 5' 4" length with aluminium oxide guide and cork handle. Manyfacturer is"Erink" and the markings on the label are: Erink Qualitats Seit 1757 Angelgerate. The rod is in good condition with the bindings on the loops intact. There is a small split in the connecting ferrel but when put together the rod is still really solid. A new coat of varnish would enhance the overall appearance but the rod could easily be used as it is. I have no idea of the value so am listing at what I think is a very low price in the hope it finds its own value. 2 antique fly rods-Simmons Royal 4 piece + 3 piece unmarked split bamboo
2 antique split bamboo fly rods. One is marked Simmons Royal and is a 4 piece 9' with 2 tiplets but missing one ferrel on one of the tips and 2 eyes from the middle piece but otherwise in great shape. The 2nd rod is also split bamboo 3 piece 8' rod unmarked as much as I can see and missing the eyes but the last 3 on the tip end are there and nice. The owners name(Paul Ackerman) is on the rod next to the 1945 date. The butt end of the rod is cork. The hand made fitted wood carrying case is 38 inches long and has brass fittings to hold it closed and a leather handle. You can see the care that went into its construction. Vintage Split Bamboo 2 Piece 54" Fishing Rod Kirkland?? Bait or Trolling Rod
Purchased at an estate auction with a number of other bamboo rods. This is a 54 inch rod that I could not find the makers mark on. Looking at pictures of the handle the handle is shaped like a Kirkland rod handle. The only eyelet is the end eyelet. The rod is very clean with no splits or cracks. It is in excellent condition. there is no indication that there were ever eyelets on the rod. Its total length is about 54 inches. One section is about 30 inches and the handle section is about 25 Inches. I believe it is a bait or trolling rod.

Vintage Wright & McGill 8’ 1/2" Three Piece Split Bamboo Fly Rod W/ Metal Tube
This listing is for a Wright& McGill Fly Fishing Rod marked 12 1938- 2.114,107- Denver Co. I believe the first set of numbers is part of the patent date- April 12 1938- and the second second is the patent number itself. None of the pieces appear to be marked with a model or something more specific. Along with the base and three"attachments" there is a bag and metal tube. I don't know if these are original. But they have been with the item for as long as anyone remembers. Depending on which pieces are used in assembly the poll measures roughly 8' or 8' 1/2" in length. There are some scratches and other signs of age on the items as unfortunately these came from a local estate sale and were not as well cared for over the years as they could have been. Notably some of the eyes were lost and the discoloration/ wear ... moreis particular noticeable along were the reel would mount. I will try to answer any and all questions as best I can. I'm not sure the make any insight would be greatly appreciated its hexagon in shape and obviously split bamboo and vintage it needs a little work on the eyelits. They're coming unraveled. there is a small split in the metal on the handle looks to be a manufacture defect and not a usage issue. Vintage Horrocks Ibbotson Split Bamboo 2 Piece Fly Fishing Rod
For your consideration is a Vintage Horrocks Ibbotson Split Bamboo 1 Piece Fly Fishing Rod. The rod itself is in good condition. Noticed at least one loose winding and a couple of loose bands. One band is missing. Noticed no large nicks or chips in the wood. There are a few blemishes and the trout logo is partially worn off. Ferrules show age related wear. The cork handle looks complete with no major chunks missing. There is some cracking and indicated wear. The cloth carry bag has some holes. Staining and discoloration. Up for auction here is a vintage 3-piece 8 1/2-foot split bamboo fly rod marked KINGFISHER on the reel seat. A tag that came with the rod claimed it was made by Heddon but I cannot confirm this. All eyes are present and all windings match and appear to be original. Each section is about 35 inches long. There is only slight warping in the rod– it would display well but is in very good condition and suitable for use. The rod will ship by Priority Mail as a 2-pound package. Montague Fishkill Fishing 7' Rod Pole 2 Piece Split Bamboo w Original Canvas Bag
Vintage. Montague Fishkill Fishing Rod with the original canvas bag. The pole will separate into 2 pieces. Made out of a very nicely grained split bamboo. It has 4 fishing line guides(including the tip) The total length of the rod is 83 1/2" and the total weight is 21 ounces. The handle part is 18" long and weighs 13 ounces. The top part is 67" long and weighs 8 ounces. The canvas case fits this rod perfectly with 1 section for each piece. We found it at an estate sale in San Diego. California. There is an old string tag hanging on the rod, it says"XAIN 18.00" I don't know much about fishing and don't know what type of rod this is. I'm guessing it's a fly rod and would also guess it dates to the 1940s. Condition: Small split in the thin. Silver colored ring above the handle(last photo) Appears as though ... moreit may not have been used. The storage/carrying bag has spots, dirt and a few pin holes. The label on the bag is mostly worn away. Looks like the rod may have spent it's entire life in the rafters of the garage at the estate sale where we found it. Excellent condition. Auction is for a Vintage 4-piece 8 1/2' Split Bamboo Fly Rod. I purchased a lot of vintage rods from an avid fisherman and rod builder. This auction is for a rod that is missing most of the label- what is there is red/gold in color. I have been informed that the rod manufacturer is Golden Compac of Japan. This one is a nice 4 piece bamboo. I have no idea of the weight etc. I will say what is here is nice as can be seen in the pictures. The reel seat is aluminum- handle is mint- ferrules are perfect as is the tip. There is one eye missing from the second piece. Rod will be approx. 8 1/2' when assembled. The No.851 was James Heddon's Sons' most popular one-piece bamboo casting rod, first introduced in 1935 and selling through the 1952 season. Because this example carries the Post Classic Era rodshaft markings(first used on Heddon rods in 1949) we know it was built from 1949 to the end of production in late 1952. Heddon's Cleo Hanley has handwritten"Heddon" on one flat, Jim Heddon's Favorite" on a second flat and"851- 5-1/2' M" on a third. The reel seat carries the three 1934 patent numbers assigned to Heddon for the offset handle design. The handle is also embossed"Heddon Pal" underneath. ... moreBuilt with very high-grade browntone Tonkin cane and comes equipped with detachable handle, blackened Carboloy guides& tip top, naval bronze ferrule, hand-checkered Circassian walnut foregrip, solid cork tournament grip, black plastic butt cap(black used for bamboo models, red for steel& fiberglass) adjustable reel seat w/trigger and wound in red silk tipped in black. I've added a photo of the original listing from Heddon's 1950 catalog. Rod is in solid Very Fine condition, showing just light to moderate overall wear. Bamboo is perfect, with no splits, cracks or delamination whatsoever. The tip section is the correct length and is quite straight. Original varnish shows some rubs and nicks here and there, but remains in pretty good shape. Rodshaft markings are pristine. All wraps are solid and complete. All guides, tip top, ferrules, foregrip, solid cork grip and butt cap are very nice. Handle works perfectly, drawing in the tip section tightly and securely. Not sure of maker or year. But a nice old rod with one small exception. A piece of tape over thread at eyelet on butt section, doesn't twist or anything so could be just replace or hold thread down? but overall in very good shape. All eyelets are secure with no unraveling or looseness. Sections go together firmly. Cork handgrip and reel mounting section are solid but show some usage wear. Two tip sections. And the rod date back to the 1940's. there is a name on the flyrod, possibly who it was made for, but the first name has worn off and I can't make out the name. Sock is faded, but I can detect no holes in it. Handle features screw-type seat for fly reel and slip rings for spinning reel. 1925-1930 HORROCKS-IBBOTSON 5-1/2', Two-Piece Split Bamboo Bait Casting Rod w/
Up for auction a very Nice CIRCA 1925-1930 HORROCKS-IBBOTSON CO. 5-1/2 FT. 2-PIECE SPLIT BAMBOO BAIT CASTING ROD WITH THE ORIGINAL CLOTH BAG& ADDED FIBER TUBE. This is an earlier model bait casting rod from Horrocks-Ibbotson of Utica, N.Y. likely produced from the mid 1920's to about 1930, as evidenced by the engraved logo on the reel seat. The fact that it is so closely wound could put it even earlier. Rod shaft carries the early Horrocks-Ibbotson diamond decal, while the reel seat is stamped"Horrocks-Ibbotson Co. UTICA, N.Y. Mfrs. Fishing Tackle- BEST BY TEST" within a similar diamond logo. A higher-grade baitcaster built with what appears to be Calcutta cane and comes equipped with a nicely swelled butt, genuine orange agate guides, offset orange agate tip top, high-grade ferrules, NPB winding check, metal butt cap, ratchet-style" ... moresliding band reel seat, solid cork grip& foregrip and VERY closely wound in three colors of silk. There are a staggering 144 individual wraps on the two sections alone. Rod is in solid Fine condition for these, showing moderate wear. Bamboo is perfect, with no splits, cracks or delamination. Both sections are the correct length and are arrow-straight. Varnish shows numerous overcoats but is in good condition overall. Rod shaft decal is nearly pristine. All wraps are solid and complete. All guides, tip top, ferrules, winding check and butt cap remain in very fine condition. Reel seat works perfectly, with bold stamping. Solid cork grip and foregrip are excellent. Put up in the original cloth bag, which remains in fine+ condition, with no holes or tears whatsoever. A non-original capped fiber tube has been supplied for purposes of shipping and storage. It's a perfect fit and is damage-free. A nice example of these early bait casting rods from H-I. To be sold with a very low starting bid and NO RESERVE.
