It is obvious that someone spent ... morea lot of time on this rod, and they knew what they were doing. With that being said, it is possible that this a rebuilt Montague rod; however, I am not 100% sure. The reel seat looks like a Montague and the sock I found this rod with has a torn Montague label. Aside from some soiling on the cork handle, this rod doesn't show much wear. When fully put together the actual length is just over 9' long and this rod weighs 6.9oz (it feels like it would handle a 7-8wt line just fine). The ferrules fit tight and as intended (they measure 21/64 & 15/64). All-in-all, a high-quality bamboo rod, that is ready to hit the water! Please see all of the photos and thank you for looking.

Sections are straight, Butt, Mid& Tips 36 3/4" and have a minor fishing set when assembled. All wraps, ferrules, guides, reel seat and cork there and in very good condition. Has its custom rod bag and tube also in good condition. Here's a very nice Unknown Bamboo Fly Rod. This is a high end rod. Rod has bright nickle silver ferrules, agate stripper guide, wood insert reel seat with nickle silver hardware all in very good condition see pictures. Rod has been fully restored, it came out beautiful, its ready to fish. Wraps are maroon with gold tipping and there is a witness mark under every wrap on this rod. I have not fished this rod but have lawn cast it, it casts a DT5 or 6 ... morereally well and lays it very nicely. I was really impressed, rod is very smooth, predictable and forgiving. This auction is for a used vintage bamboo flyrod. A case/holder is included. The rod measures 8' and has three sections with an additional tip section. This one is for restoration only. The reel holder section and one tip section show gradual deflections. There are numerous guides that are missing and loose wrappings. Also note that the case does not fit the handle properly(see photo) I thought I would be able to identify the builder because of the unique handle/reel mount assembly and still cannot determine who the builder is There are no builder markings. This offering is for a a vintage bamboo boat rod that is rather short@ about 45" and my gut tells me that it was probably Montague and probably cut down from a larger rod but it sure looks cool. The ferrule sure is snug and that screw-on addition to the handle is unique so some time or other it's cool got to me and I had to have it and now it is time for someone else to enjoy it. old Vintage Rod RARE 3 Piece Unknown Split Cane Bamboo Spinning Rod W/Extra Tip
Wow! Heres a nice one. 3 piece split cane/bamboo spinning rod with extra tip. Comes with the original sock and what looks to be a wooden 4 sided section holder covered in green canvas. Notice that hole in the top of the canvas sock. All 4 sections are 35 inches each give or take a bit. 8 ft. 9 inch complete? I cant find any markings anywhere. So it could be a custom made rod or maybe an import? Tip tops are very unusual to me. One winding is a differant color on the butt section, so it may have been rewraped? I dont know much about these kind of rods, so just look it over and use your own judgement. Neat rod either way in pretty good shape. Very hard to find model. Wow! Look closely and bid accordingly. Early 1900s Split Bamboo 9 ft Mortised Fly rod unknown maker
Beautiful blonde color split bamboo 9 ft fly rod by unknown maker. poss. chub from looking at reel-seat. butt section. Mid section, and two tips: all same length for 9 ft assembled rod. stripped and varnished with top quality spar varnish. redone with black/gold nylon thread wraps and mostly original guides. cork handle and reel-seat are original and in very nice condition. mortised shaft into handle is original and great looking. sections fit together and feel good. original carry-holder is in really nice condition, with no rotted cloth. wonderful for display in holder, or by itself assembled. or take it fishing. see the pictures and you be the judge.

VINTAGE 3 PIECE BAMBOO FLY ROD MAKER UNKNOWN OVER 8' LONG
Up for auction is a VINTAGE 3 PIECE BAMBOO FLY ROD? MAKER UNKNOWN OVER 8' LONG. I am in no way an expert on fishing or fishing equipment so I have taken lots of photos for you to view. This pole measures almost 9 feet long when I put it together but each piece did not fit easily all the way in and I did not want to force it so I measured each piece separately. The handle measures about 37" the middle piece about 36 3/4" and the tip approx 35 1/4" I'm pretty sure it is bamboo and pretty sure it is a fly rod. There is a greenish case that had a label at one time and a tube that it will ship in. The rod itself looks to be in good condition but again. I'm not an expert. There are some scratches where the reel attaches. Please ask any questions before bidding and good luck!

Vintage Bamboo Fly Rod Unknown Maker Recently Restored 3pc 9' 2-3wt
This is a beautiful old rod. Unknown original maker. This rod has the look and feel of a high end piece of it's time. This rod was stripped, cleaned, rewrapped with new light wire snake guides and a vintage Agate stripper. The cane has some set.no attempt was made to change it's character. The original pinned ferrules were removed, cleaned and reinstalled with epoxy but NOT re-pinned. The reel seat was cleaned and recoated, the cork was cleaned and the metal parts were polished. This is a great old rod that has been given new life. It is 3 pieces and 9' long and weighs in at only 4.3 oz. It should cast 2-3wt line. Up for Auction is a Vintage Montague? Split Bamboo Shore Bait Cating Fishing Rod 6 Foot 4 1/2 inch. I am unable to find any markings. But looks very similar to the other Montague Rod i am selling I am not a collector or a fisherman so i dont know a lot about the Fishing rods. However i believe that the base of the handle is missing a rounded endcap piece that may have said montague as it looks like another rod that i have listed that has that rounded endcap piece attached. The base piece measures 43" the Tip piece measures just short of 35" and weighs in at 12 oz.I am selling the rod as a restoration or collectors piece but it does look ready to use. The rod has 3 eye holes and i am unsure if it is missing any.I can not make out the marking stickers on the rod, the base of the handle says Montague.The Vintage Rod is in good cosmetic ... morecondition with general wear and tear which MAY include, scuffs, scratches, nicks, dings, fading, discoloring and residue buildup. Up for auction is a 9ft Bamboo fishing rod. I was unable to identify the piece 100% It did come in a bag that has a partial label that has Imbrie on it. Also has 9ft-6 oz on the bottom of the label as well. But I can't say for sure that the rod inside is an Abbey Imbrie. It has no numbers or identification at all on the rod. It's in pretty good condition overall Some of the thread on the rod is missing in a few sections. The bag is badly soiled and very fragile and coming apart. it also has the carrying case that the pieces slide into. It's a total of three pieces with one extra tip. VINTAGE ANTIQUE 3 PIECE BAMBOO FISHING FLY ROD 8 1/2 FT. UNKNOWN MAKER
Here is an old bamboo fishing rod that includes 3 pieces that vary in length(bottom 31 1/2. Middle 38, tip end 34) Together they make an 8 and a half foot long rod. Did not notice any name and looks like a shellac was brushed over it. I think it is more of a display item than a user, but that will be up to you. The top end does not fit tightly into the center piece. Will be shipped anywhere in the lower 48 for 12.00 and THANKS for looking.

VINTAGE UNKNOWN 2 PC. BAMBOO FISHING ROD WITH RARE SPEAR HANDLE BUTT CAP SPIKE?
Additional Information about the item(s) up for sale: Here we have a 2 piece bamboo fishing rod measures 6'0" in total length not including the spear. The spear or spike measures 3-3/4" in length. The rod with the spear weighs approximately 6.5 oz. The rod is unmarked the only mark I can find on the rod is on the metal tip it appears to be engraved with the letter W which is barely visible with the naked eye. I do not know who the maker of this rod is or where it originated from and I do not know if the metal spear attached to the butt was used as a spear. Intended for self defense or simply used to drive the rod into the ground to hold it up when the fisherman could not hold the rod although at only 3-3/4" in length would not give you much bite into the ground to hold in place therefore it leads me to believe it was intended ... moreto be used as a spear. If anyone reads this listing and offers some insight I would be interested to know. Either way I picked this rod up simply because I think it is a great unique item. The rod is constructed of bamboo with a cork handle and plastic reel seat with a metal spear butt cap! The rod is in good condition although it does have some wear from use and also it has a glaze that has been applied to the cork handle and the rod which I tried to show in the photos. Antique 80" Split Bamboo Fly Rod w/ Canvas Sleeve and 2 Tips (Unknown Maker)
You are bidding on antique split bamboo fly rod with a canvas case. Measuring approximately 80" when four sections are assembled. It has two tips as shown in the photo. A family item dating from the early 1900's,it has some rust and corrosion. I have not attempted to clean it in any way, just discovered it when going through some estate items. The canvas case has a makers sticker as shown in the photo but it is too far gone to make determine the maker. No makers mark or other info on the rod itself. I do not know much about this rod. It's crafted very nicely. The bottom of rod is missing cap and does not come with extra rod tip but you have the main three rod pieces here. The holder makes this just an awesome piece! Happy bidding!
