This classic Pflueger Medalist is in excellent condition with a DT floating fly line of unknown weight. It was made in Japan after Shakespeare's acquisition of Pflueger. A right hand wind reel which was very lightly fished. The usual quick change button on the reel face. The frame on the head plate reads"PFLUEGER 1492 1/2 CJ MEDALIST" Diameter of the reel is 3 1/4" Width of spool 1" The bottom of the foot reads"JAPAN/JAPAN/MODEL CJ" There is a friction drag knob on the rim of the tail plate in excellent working order.

Lot of 2 Pflueger Medalist Fly Reels 1494 First off both of these reels need a little work. The first reel(the one with the diamolite line guard) works. But it doesn’t turn easily. It look and feels like it just need to be cleaned and oiled. The second reel(the CJ) is missing a couple of parts and the crank handle is slightly bent. Please contact me if you have any questions. Vintage Excellent! "Left Hand" Pflueger Medalist #1494 CJ Fly Reel
Up for auction is a" Vintage Left Hand" Pflueger Medalist#1494 CJ Fly Reel" Reel has makers marks on the front which reads. Pflueger#1994 CJ Medalist" Button Reads, Pflueger Medalist By Shakespeare, reel functions perfect and turns smooth with a strong constant click and a working dial drag on the rim, foot is unaltered, see picture#12. Reel is in Excellent Condition with only some very light finish wear! Reel weight is 6.3 ounces, width is 7/8 inch and the reel diameter is 3 1/4 inches. Single white handle has no chips or cracks.
