The is a missing screw in the center of the rewind knob but it doesn’t seem to affect the performance. A nice display reel for your collection or take it out fishing and“go retro” The 1822 was made for a long time from about 1956 to 1974. I think this is an earlier version based on the paint. I served me well and now it is time for someone else to enjoy it. Spring& release lever are in good condition and the overall operation is fine. It will still take lots of use. They don't make them like this anymore. The Wright& McGill Eagle Claw 6 ft FeatherLight makes this a real cool package deal. The rod is not as old as the reel and it is in excellent condition. Item for sale is a vintage 1970 Shakespeare Auto#1822 Model EB Fly Fishing Reel. This reel is in excellent condition with exception to a minor paint fleck chip. SEE PHOTOS. Box has seen better days. Has water stains,dings,ink loss, and scrapes BUT it's still here! Has original paper work. This would look great in any collection. Or. take it out tomorrow and catch yourself a trout!
