For bid is this good condition Vintage Pflueger Superex No.755 Automatic Fly Reel w/Brown Fly Line USA fishin. I do not know much about fishing reels but will try and describe. This is my fathers. This fly reel is marked on the side as you see in picture 1& 2. Pflueger Superex. No. 755. Made In Akron, O. USA. This reel seems to works good and as you see in picture 2 there is a slide knob lever in the center, push it in to remove the side in picture 3& 4 to access the spool as you see in picture 6, so this reel comes apart easily in case it needs to be cleaned but spring tention should be relaxed by turning the black center knob in picture 3&4. This reel is in good condition as you can see but there is some paint scuf/scratches/wear from use as you can see in the pictures. The reel has a brown fly line on it as you see in picture ... more1. This combination of a Pflueger SuperEX No. 755 automatic fly reel and a Pflueger 5'0" Model 7350 rod makes for a very well matched pair. While the reel precedes the rod by almost three(3) decades.it is still a great match. This could not be achievable were both items in very good condition. The 7350 is what I would consider a"light" action. Bordering on"ultralight" An action that is not easily achievable from a 5'0" rod. It is a credit to the Pflueger people. The orange and black color combination"pops" Rest assured. The complexity of the automatic fly reel is all in tact. Even the small plastic boss within the reel(on the center of the spool) used to tie off the line is not broken or damaged. It is perfect. The various"clock spring actions" all work as they should. In summary, there ... moreis nothing defective about the mechanics of this fine, VINTAGE reel. My apologies for the shipping costs to be a tad high! I can't help it. Though. I continue to work on various ways to ship rods that doesn't"break the bank"but, so far, I have not come up with what I would consider an acceptable methodology. VINTAGE pre WW II PLUEGER SUPEREX AUTOMATIC FLY REELS(2) Reg. U.S. Patent Office Pat’d. Nov.19’07. Printed on Reels pre-mid-1930s slotted screws Made in U.S.A. model"775" You are bidding on a PAIR OF Pflueger Superex automatic reels. I’m assuming these Pflueger’s are model 775 based on comparing pictures on eBay. But there is no model number stamped on these and the recoil lever is configured slightly differently than those marked“Model 775” see pictures below) The outside diameter of these two Pflueger’s are 9 centimeters, and the height between the top and bottom plate available for the throw line is 17mm. Both reels use a simple coiled spring and a 2-sprocket gear system to wind in the line when a lever is pushed. The user can add or decrease spring tension at any time to help wind the line up or relieve extra tension. That generally ... moreisn’t required, though, once the reel is loaded unless you are using a very small diameter line. Both reels were made in the USA of all metal parts and are remarkably sturdy. Both wind the line back in smoothly and quickly. And both can be disassembled to almost individual components. weighs 8 and 3/4 ounces empty, but only holds 24 feet of 2.2mm Zing-it(or ~30 feet 1.75mm line, or ~38 feet of 1.4mm Fling-It) The bobbin of the Pflueger has a notch in it to attach the line, but it is too small to accommodate throw line. Both reels have a line guide that helps when pulling out and winding in the line. When adding spring tension, the reel makes a clicking sound. The Condition is very good with only minor scratches and tarnish on the reel housings. Spool, Frame posts, and Line Guides are in very good condition, These are an Old 1920's era(maybe 1930's era at the latest) These reels have unsurpassed quality compared to store bought reels available today.
