Pflueger Progress 1774 Fly Fishing Reel Brass Working Clicker Nice Vintage The Listing is for a Brass Pflueger old school 1774 fly reel. This nice old reel looks good and works very well. The clicker works just as it should forward winding or back reeling. It also has the no clicker option with the switch and spins easily. The handle is smooth with a good shine. The spool measures 2 1/8" in diameter. The outer cage measures 2 7/8" in diameter. The brass has a good looking patina to the metal it has not been polished in about 6 years and is darkening nicely. Vintage Pflueger Progress No 1774 brass fly reel wood handle nice clean
For auction is a very nice mid 1900's Pflueger Progress No. 1774 solid brass frame with aluminum spool fly reel. This model has the slide option between click and free spin and functions properly. This reel is very clean and an absolute joy to use. The brass is very shiny. It is difficult to capture in photographs, and the aluminum is in nice shape with a shine. The sound of the clicking while fighting a trout is a special sound. While these pair perfectly with bamboo rods, I have enjoyed using it with 4/5 weight modern rods, It may be appropriate for up to 6 weight. This reel has a total weight of 136 grams or 4.75 oz. Welcome! Up for auction is a very nice Pflueger Progress Fly Reel. Most of these reels were powder coated. Then there were the older ones that were made of brass. I cant remember the year for these reels but to be honest they are some of my favorite reels to use on my old bamboo rods. You can use this on a glass rod as well. I had this reel buffed out a few years ago it has been sitting with my other equipment untouched for about 2 years now. If you got a few mins and a buffing tool you will have a true shinner. The bakelite handle is in very good condition with no cracks or chips. The drag is tight and free spool is nice and smooth. A very nice operating old Progress. The box is in very good condition with no breaks. There is a large scuff on the top& worn corners. The bottom box has a large bruise on one side. 2 Vintage Pflueger Fly Fishing Reels: Medalist No.1495 & Progress No.1774
This auction is for a lot of 2 Vintage Pflueger fly fishing reels: a Medalist No.1495 and a Progress No.1774. Both reels are fully functional and in good condition. The Medalist is 4" in diameter. Has an aluminum alloy spool and frame, push button quick release spool, external drag system, and convertible left/right retrieve. It has some normal wear for something almost 75 years old; scuffing, scratches, and some pitting, but works well. The Progress is 3" in diameter, has an aluminum spool, and a gunmetal finish over a brass frame. The gunmetal finish is in great shape with very little sign of wear, and the reel works great. These reels are both highly collectible. I generally ship the day after payment is received. Thanks for viewing.

Pflueger 50's Vintage Progress 1774 Fly Reel Fish or Collect or Both Vintage Pflueger Progress Fly Reel No. 1774 Made in USA Good Condition No. 1774 Model Progress Dates of Manufacture 1952.56-68 drum type spool 3" diameter. 2 1/2" reel foot spool width is 1" This is really nice fly reel. It weighs just at 4 ounces. Except for a couple rub spots that you can see in the many photo's I have for you. Cosmetically it is in fine shape. I clean things before listing but they can always be detailed to shine much better than I have the time for. Mechanically the reel has a very strong clicker and the handle is in great shape. The only issue I find on this reel is. That as you wind it, it comes to a spot that has a slight catch. I do not see anything out of line, there are no dents or anything I can find to account for that. ... moreMaybe it needs cleaning inside or some oil. I should not think would not stop you from fishing with it, however I do wish to disclose all I find Reel is 3" diameter. 2 1/2" reel foot, spool width is 1" Maker is Enterprise Mfg. Co. of Akron Ohio. Condition is good. It has had very little use. The spool has the large drum so a lot of backing is not necessary. This Pflueger Fly Reel is a nice. Well cared for vintage piece. It has Three cross bars and then for the reel foot a heavy double cross bar. There are no bends. Dents, or gouges on the side plates. You can super size the photo's. The 50's came out with some very nice reels. This is a great collectible or working reel. You are bidding on a vintage model. Used Pflueger Progress single action fly fishing reel. The reel was made in the USA(Akron, OH) and is a Model 1774. It is in very good cosmetic condition, showing little external wear. The drag mechanism may need some work. The original box and at least some of the associated paperwork(see photo) are included. The box is solid and the graphics are in at least good to very good condition. The included paperwork is also in good to very good condition. This auction is for a vintage Pflueger Progress 1774 fly reel in good condition. It has been fished and has some paint rubs and tarnish. But will fish well: The click drag is loud and the spool spins true. This small reel would be ideal on a 2 or 3 weight fly rod. Also included is a vintage Pflueger 1554 Sal-Trout. This reel is fishable but not as nice as the 1774: The clicker is loud, but the spool has a slight warp so it ticks the frame in one spot. I’m sure this can be bent back but I haven’t tried to do so myself. If you collect Pflueger or just like to fish vintage tackle, this is an auction you need to consider. The reel is in very good collector quality shape and works great. Has just very lite wear to it and it is a very nice solid well working piece. Has a very good plus spool. Frame, foot, posts, spool shaft and handle- are all in very good plus shape. Reel works great. Cranks really nice, nice clicker& switch, good even shaft and a very well working reel ready to fish. The box does have a bit of wear from age/handling etc and some corners have old tape on them. Manual also wear from age and handling but still legible shape.
