There are 8 pictures Offered for sale is a real nice vintage Pflueger Medalist 1494 1/2 DA"wide spool" FLY REEL. The reel was made in the USA and remains NEAR MINT IN BOX. One little paint wear mark on the side(shown up close in a photo) and some light dust from storage. The reel is set up for right handed retrieve but can be either right or left. The reel is complete with the original box. Paperwork. The reel was used some but must have been well taken care of- VERY VERY VERY CLEAN The reel has a nice fly line with backing already installed so the reel is ready to use immediately with the addition of a new fly leader. Label on reel spool reads Orvis WF 5F/S. Can't honestly say that this is what's on there though. Line is dominantly off white fading to dark brown at the end. Spare spool looks even better. The reel shows wear and scratches around the edges and in the normal places. But is still in very good working condition. The reel has an adjustable drag. The rod shows very minor wear and is in very good condition. The label on the rod is starting to become a little dog-eared due to age. Neither the rod or reel give stats on recommended line weight.
